  1. A user on instagram posted a random picture of orange clouds, saying "Something is coming... rumor of a big reveal tomorrow!" And then obviously a bunch of UCS CC hashtags. Anyone know anything about this? Is it something or is it nothing? Death Star and 75192 were both revealed on the 31st, IIRC, which is why I find the post strange.
  2. Yup, that top hat is just a minifigure's top hat piece. The orange windows looks like headlight bricks to me. I can also see the studs at the top of the purple building, I think, and the windows seem to be 1 stud wide. It's definitely Diagon Alley back there, and it seems to be very tiny. Mabe it's just something the designers built for fun? Or it could be a prototype? But why release a Diagon alley that small?
  3. There are pics of set lists out there. Microfighters are coming back and there'll be SW Juniors sets. One list says 75222 - Betrayal at Cloud City and 10268 - Star Wars confidential. Most interesting. Idk about the authenticity of these lists. Anyone know more about them?
  4. All right, so it's just next year's fairground set, which I assume will be a summer release, just like the rest. Glad to know there's going to be one next year. There were talks that since 2019 should bring a new Landmark set, there wouldn't be a fairground set for that year.
  5. So, should Cloud City be revealed in about two weeks? Seeing as the Millenium Falcon and the Death Star had their press releases on August 31st. There's very little waiting left!
  6. You actually might. If I remember correctly, most people were saying that the Falcon was a ~20h build. Any other people who are pretty much done with the castle, how long did it take to build?
  7. So it's as if Brickset were to put 10267 - Free fall tower in their database? That seems pretty solid.
  8. How long was the build, more or less?
  9. Well, this took me by surprise. I certainly hope we do get a free fall tower. This should be due next year, but it's odd that we're already getting rumors. Speaking of which, where's this rumor coming from? Is the source ("According to Brickmerge") trustworthy? EDIT: Looks like Brickmerge is an online store. Is this the type of rumor that comes from an online seller putting up a page for an unreleased product?
  10. Yeah, that's from the official description of the set. What interests me is how far apart the two halves of the castle are (each half being separated by the bridges). Are TLG's measurements calculated by having the Great Hall section at the corner of the 27" by 16" area, having the studs of that section align with the width and depth of the set? Or is 27" the maximum width of the set (if the castle were put at an angle like it is in the pictures and measured that way).
  11. D2C Hogwarts looks amazing. I can't seem to find any images of the set from above. That'd help picture the width and depth of the set, since the castle goes off at an angle with the bridges.
  12. There's a review on New Elementary that shows off the functions with some pretty cool animations.
  13. It's nice that TLG managed to include a bunch of functionality into this set but, ultimately, we're paying for a car that feels like a DB5, yet looks like something else. For a generic LEGO car, it looks O.K. For an Aston Martin DB5, it's unrecognisable. For Bond's DB5, it's... well, also unrecognisable but the gadgets are there, which is pretty nice. Easy pass for me, too. Functionality by itself can't redeem an ugly and overpriced set.
  14. ^ I agree with the whole change of atmosphere. This screams class to me. I can imagine a ball room in there. Well done, I love it when people try different color schemes.
  15. I guess it'll be CC (a disk looking like the top half of the Death Star, maybe slightly bigger and flatter), a small Slave I and a small (maybe normal scale) Cloud Car. I wonder if they'll incorporate a landing platform on the disk or just sticking out of the main assembly, like in the old CC. Could there also be a small MF?
  16. I'm all for people buying whatever they want, but don't go shaming others for pointing out legitimate flaws within a model. I mean, this is not nitpicking. We're talking about the front and the side of a car (of a DB5, no less). -------------------- @Sinthoras Spot. On. TLG's DB5 does justice to a Peugeot 403, with that flat front. The peculiar depth of the front of the DB5 is lost in this set, whose grill looks like it's been plastered on a wall. Only reason I see for such a boxy shape is to easily accomodate the mechanisms of the gadgets. TLG dropped the ball on this one. I gotta admit, while the Beetle and the Cooper were so successfully designed, they didn't have to worry about fitting gadgets in them. One has to hope the outer sacrifices in the DB5 will be justified by an intricate system of interior mechanisms. Hopefully TLG managed to fit most if not all gadgets inside 007's DB5. Is the official reveal still going to be on the 18th? Kinda surprised to see that a set will be available for purchase the same day it is revealed.
  17. Boy, did I struck a nerve. This set means a lot to you doesn't it? And so does my opinion, for some reason... If you want to have a civil discussion, please PM me. ------------ Despite the disappointing first leak and probably not wanting to buy the set, I'll be looking forward to the official pictures.
  18. Yeah, 71043 will definitely be micro scale. Question is, with 6000+ pieces, many of them probably very small, how big could it be? Is there a chart somewhere that shows the scale of the castle compared to a person? If it's in true scale with the microfigures, maybe a scale chart would be of help.
  19. I guess people have different tastes! Some like rectangles, some like curves. Crazy how that can happen. I'm criticizing this model because it's an unfaithful reproduction of the real DB5, which is a shame. The Cooper and the Beetle, meanwhile, are much better, but that's just my (and many other people's) opinion. Don't get mad if people dislike something you like. I don't have a problem with you liking something I find lots of inaccuracies in. Understand that some like things well done and accurate. I guess there's no room for improvement in anything anymore. Oh no. @LegoFjotten If I had TLG designers' inventories, I'd give it a try! There's plenty that can be fixed! ----------------- Bickering aside (we've had enough off topic discussions here (Doctor Who))... I'm at least eager to see what gadgets are incorporated. If the front's ugly, there'd better be some nice Technic action within the set!
  20. Compare the Beetle and the Mini Cooper to this model and you will realize that the DB5 is a big step below the previous Creator Expert cars. Also, as @Whovastron has mentioned, we can already see the most important features of the DB5: the front and the sides. The rear won't redeem the whole set. What else is there to see? The interior and the gadgets? IMO, if the set looks ugly on the outside, it's hard to make up for it with other small features that are mostly hidden by the external cover.
  21. Good grief, comparing the real thing with what was leaked today, TLG really botched the front of the DB5. It's all wrong. The headlights and the curves, the grill, the silver part right in front of the bumper (don't know the name of that). Even the side wing mirrors look odd. Someone on reddit mentioned that the grill and the headlights make it look like the car is looking up, surprised or in horror. Completely agree with that. All the depth of the front of the DB5 is absolutely lost on this model. Looks rushed, as if TLG wanted to release something as quickly as they could with the 007 license that was supposed to be used for Dimensions.
  22. First pictures are disappointing. Front looks lazy and squished.
  23. @KevinMD that picture's a MOC. Just speculation as to what the set might look like. (If you're talking about the picture with the red arrow and the "Could it look like this" caption). ---------------------- Upon further, further inspection with some pictures from Google showing blueprints of the real DB5, the car is about 6 and a half wheels long and 2 and a half wheels wide. If the TLG uses the wheels from the Beetle and the Caterham, which are 5cm in diameter, then the car would be roughly 33cm long and 13cm wide. This feels like far-fetched speculation, but it's something to help picture the size of the set.
  24. There's a small invitation for the Leicester Store event on July 18th. Says that you're invited to the "official reveal" (will it really be on the 18th? That late?). There's also an image of a blueprint depicting one the wheels of the car. I think they're the same size as the Beetle, but they use a new mold. EDIT: Upon further inspection, looks like they also use the shuriken from Ninjago for the tire slashers.
  25. Wowowow, £130? That's about 170 USD and 200+ CAD, making the Aston Martin more expensive than even the London Bus. This car better be worth that kind of money.
