Jurss' Workshop
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Got a good steering geometry, also Ackermann But there's no more space for good placing of shock absorbers At the moment this is most acceptable composition Yes, this setup is just for some lightweight car. I'm not wanting to go too high with placing of shock absorbers. I have some idea, how to use also big shock absorbers, connecting them at the bottom on the wheel size, but is could not look good. -

[MOC] Nissan Patrol Offroad SUV
Jurss replied to gate's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks good, but it is hard to recognize there some particular car. Maybe it is also because Nissan Patrol doesn't have some kind of iconic look (but it doesn't look bad), like Toyota FJ cruiser f.i. -

Pneumatic Axle Brake Design
Jurss replied to MxWinters's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, there are reasons for that, but for lego model I think opposite solution will be better - then brakes could be engaged just by starting compressor, not running it all the time, and also using separate motor for pneumatic valve. Yes, they could be then slower ... -
Pneumatic Axle Brake Design
Jurss replied to MxWinters's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Interesting design 1. I would out there 5L beam 2. I would put there some bracing, so that by braking it wont go up. 3. I would remake so, that rubber or some shock absorber works on releasing brakes, so that there is no need to always have pressure. -

42000 was my first Technic set, and it is definately in top 10. I don't see 42030 mentioned here. I also would put 42043 in first place, but You have it already.

[REVIEW] 42082 - Rough Terrain Crane
Jurss replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe in this set white ones are used, because there is so much other parts in red. So, for easyer building, clerer building instructions, they used those white parts. -
[REVIEW] 42082 - Rough Terrain Crane
Jurss replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Started to build from what I own, ordered missing parts. I enjoying build very much. Last thing I enjoyed so much, was Arocs (i have built BWE, Porsche etc.) When I started to build, realised, that I didn't needed to order as they are mainly used as axle extenders, and I can replace them with what I did already in two places. -
