[MOC] Grader (generic) - finished
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thnak You, I tried to replicate all functions. Pneumatics for this scale would look messy, I think. There would be some kind of "macaroni factory". It is intentionally, as I needed to tension it. As it is not for drive, I think, it is OK. I was thinking to implement chains as on real graders, but then everything becomes too wide for this scale. I was considering those large panels, but they don't fit, or I would loose support for rear axle/suspension. I also don't have small yellow panels 2x5 (they are really rare). Added one 3L beam to fill front Made V2.0 , but not shure if really better. Some small firing panels could be too large. -

[MOC] Grader (generic) - finished

Thank You all/both! I wanted to keep it technic. Don't think, that I need some tiles there. It was last thing to add, so ... but anyway, I did it classical way, as lego, most probably would do. For teeths I would then dig in sons Ninjago collection or something like that. I'll check what we have. -

Summer suddenly ended, so had time for this MOC, and finished it. I think, there are all possible grader functions. -

This was really suprise (I was expecting something big etc.). But really good surprise. In fact, after merging forums, surprises happen more often. -

Are Your parts and set lists on rebrickable OK, or is it just for me? Never mind, I just realised, that I have two rebrickable accounts. I didn't knew that :D -

Always has been :D Lamborghini says transmission typeElectronically controlled all-wheel drive system (Haldex gen. IV) with rear mechanical self-locking differential I think, there is no central diff, both axles are coupled trough haldex visco coupling. So You could use latest inline clutch or similar. -

There are those fully plastic wheels, but they are pretty large https://rebrickable.com/parts/44777/wheel-688-x-36-zr-solid-smooth/ And then there is somewhere axle collection thread (I always forget to put in my favorites) -
It seems, that this will be pretty big, heavy machine. For one servo it would be pretty hard or impossible to rotate 4 wheels at once. Servo at all is one of the worst motors. Linkage also won't be straight forward, to have 90' rotation. I think so. It would be better to use some standard motor, and do turning with gears, also using turntables on top of wheels.

Yes, it would be good that axles for wheels in this case would go trough some two holes, not only one (so that there is something longer hole). Also there could be pretty much flex in whole suspension with this construction. -

Good alternative with all critical functions. -

I wonder, id this idea can be developed by using more system parts, and then get rid of that string. -

Cool creations. Thinking out of a circle :) -
Sorry, but there will bend everything, and real suspension won't be needed at all? Do I understand correclty, that real swing suspension is connected to chassis just trough that turntable? If so, under the load it will bend, maybe even fall off.
