City is crying out for a Hospital the size similar to that of the Friends one.

Hi Withacee, I too am a bit surprised it went retired so soon and especially before christmas, as hoped to pick it up with some Christmas money. After all it is still winter around these parts.

An open letter about the Lego City fire lineup for 2019
scottwb2010 replied to sasbury's topic in LEGO Town
I agree totally with you guys that updates are required in the City Fire theme and like both your suggestions. 1) Although their is a single airtank available and used for Lego divers, its not suitable for the firefighters theme as the tank is upside down for a start and has big air tubes like BA sets from the 60's so new mould definitely required. 2) on the locker roller shutter, I like Sasbury's idea of a 2 wide locker shutter but I would like to see a 4 wide with 2 or 3 high shutter, for above the wheel arch. 3) Yip the helmet is long overdue an update. I was happy when a yellow version of 3834 came out in the mixel series 8 so I got a load of these to make my fiefighters look more British. 4) As Rick says, the appliance bay doors are no longer suitable as I can barely get my 6 wide engines through the doors when you take into account wing mirrors etc. 5) Would love to see what they would come up with for Hydraulic Rescue Eqpt And last but not least, a CMF firefighter is long overdue. But based on which Firefighter. IMO it would probably be on a FDNY 'The Bravest' Iconic firefighter. -
Hi. Click on the link to these instructions and scroll down to the city scene at the end and you'll see a train in the Left hand side background, partially hidden by the tall building. Think this is the one your referring too? http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/6203797.pdf Scott

I see s@h has 60097 City Square as ‘retiring soon’ so maybe there will be some sort of replacement in 2018, hopefully a new Town Plan!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Looking at the official pics, it looks like the 'singer', the 'manager' and the female 'bodybuilder' have double sided heads going by their facial expressions. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I'm the same. Yes I was one those that thought the earlier image was a fake but having seeing the official pics it looks better but still not a priority buy. If I do get it I may change the faces. Lego have missed an opportunity with this set in not making it a true corner imo, plus another eatery, many others functions we could have had that would have balanced things out. At least the price is not bad. This may be the first modular in the 2nd phase, so may work and fit in better with the next 9. Roll on 2019 to see what fits next to it! -
The Mining truck in set 60188 reminds me of the truck in World City set 4514 Cargo Crane from 2003! https://brickset.com/sets/4514-1/Cargo-Crane

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
So if it is snotted tiles, why are there no gaps like in the Assembly Square snotted tiles around the windows or like the tiles on the old fishing store unless it uses plates. Plus it looks like the windows start at floor level which makes me think again about how they separate the floors and the large window that goes from above the canopy up to the top floor looks to be one complete build and not separatable. Also if this is real, its the start of a new series of 10 and not meant to join the Assembly square due to 1) the curved canopy of the diner round to the stairs would be hidden and 2) the stairs at the side are set to far back to have the technic connector brick that traditionally is placed at studs 10 and 11! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The more I look at the photo, the more fake it looks. If you look at all the previous modulars, when there is a change in floor/level or the roof, there is a row of plates, then a row of tiles (to allow for separation) then the plate of the next floor above, but in this photo, it is brick all the way and no sign of individual floors. Have a look and compare it to the floor separation on the Assembly Square. -

Yip looks weird. -
Definitely looking more like Dennis machines now. The battenburg one is like the SS model and the yellow striped one is like the Sabre model.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Well not what I was expecting. Could be the first time I pass on a Modular as my first impression is nah! Just seems so different from the previous ones. -
Very good Harbour side buildings and scene you have created.

Good looking version of a London Pump. I like some of the fine details including the 'Jack Bar' on the 13.5 ladder. The blues under the front grill make it look more realistic as wouldn't look the same surface mounted imo

Now this is what I call a Hardware Store! Well done koalayummies on your creation. It so full stock, you have caught the right atmosphere and setting of a real hardware store. And your own creations of 'machine/tools' are great.

[MOD] Laundromat Modular 16-wide from Brick Bank
scottwb2010 replied to koalayummies's topic in LEGO Town
A decent size laundromat you have made, unlike the one that comes with the brick bank. Nice touch having the ironing boards and good sized Washing machines too. Brings back memories of going along to the local Laundromat with my mum back in the 70's before we had our own washing machine and getting a hot chocolate from the vending machine that was always way too hot to drink. -
Great review of a great fan designed set. So glad that it got selected through Lego Ideas. I like so much about this set, from the minifigs that have been selected down to the detail in the shop. This is going to fit in to my waterfront scene perfectly. Just hope his other designs become available in some form. This was a day one purchase ie 1st Sept. But as its now available on S@H no point in waiting!

Yet another great Fire Station (House) Sasbury. I like the style with the 'Brick' bricks. Is this one taken from the design of a real life Station, like the College Stn one or just your own idea? Also when I saw the first photo, I thought this may be a combined fire station and medical hospital, just because of the crews coming out of the building towards the Helicopter with the 'Gurney'. Does this Station represent a Headquarters as its quite a large building to house one engine?

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
If it is a Train Station this year, I guess it will have some form of taxi transport to take passengers somewhere in the village, wether that is motorised along the style of the Post Van from 10222 or horse drawn and a cross between the horse drawn sleigh from 3300014 and the horse drawn xmas tree cart from 10216 -
Cool Build. This fits in great with the other WV buildings, even if it is a pub. Would like this in my WV.

Really liking your tug boat. Just supported. I also like your whole harbour scene!
