Good review and great photo's Prezes! Wish I could take photo's like this, then I could post a review of the supply plane set! I have this set and it's a great addition to the Arctic theme.

I think : 60069 Water Police will be an update/redesign of either 6540 Pier Police from 1991 or 6598 Metro PD Station from 1996 and 60088 Fire starter kit depending on the price range will have a small station, smaller or same size as the station in set 7240 and have 1 Fire engine, 1 Rescue Van, 1 fire motorbike and something to go on fire!! Just my thoughts

Hopefully the Arctic tent set comes out in the UK. Pity it didn't have a sled with 4 huskies but then it would bump the price up even more! But could forsake the fish and ice lolly.

I see you logic here LT. How about Highway Thru Hell = Tow Truck! Maybe with all the car related programmes on these channels we might get a new garage?

So Demolition vehicles for 2015? There not going to be overly busy seeing TLG hasn't brought out too many building in the CITY theme recently. Maybe they are to be pulling down the older Police and Fire stations to make way for new ones?

Great Arctic scene you have created Bricktrain!

Nice fleet you have jfbat. The pumps look better now with twin lockers on both sides! The divers 4x4 looks a rugged fit for purpose van!

Great looking school. I like the colour scheme of Dark blue with the white! I wonder how your roof would look if you had the snow plates horizontal like the original tiles as think the snow is better as plates. Also the bus is a classic!

Some impressive rigs you've made here Ben C. I really like the first two, the Rescue Squad truck and the Ladder Truck. Also interesting is the Ambulance with the crew cab. Are your builds based on real vehicles, if so it would be a good touch to maybe have a small info piece of what each vehicle is, ie make and type also what station they are attached to in your Fire dept. Can't wait to se more.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Looking through post's on this thread, most people are in agreement that the modular series follow's a theme every 3 years ie Corner business - business/Residential combo - Government building. Also some think that as we have 2 modular build that had buildings in the Town Plan, we will get a Garage soon. Many would like another set build like the Petshop, ie 2 x 16 wide buildings. So to take the 3 year thread a step further, I think each 3 years could be in groups of odds and evens seeing as the Parisian Restaurant is a business/residential combo of 32 wide instead of 2 x16 wide we may get a 2 x16 build in 3 years with the 2 x 16 wide's in the even groups. Here is how my theory pans out and what may appear in years to come. Group Year Set Build type Additional 1 2007 Café Corner Business Corner Build 32 wide 1 2008 Green Grocer Business/Residential Straight Build 32 wide 1 2009 Fire Brigade Government Straight Build 32 wide 2 2010 Grand Emporium Business Corner Build 2 2011 Pet Shop Business/Residential Straight Build 2 x 16 wide Buildings 2 2012 Town Hall Government Straight Build 32 wide Town Hall in Town Plan 3 2013 Palace Cinema Business Corner Build 32 wide Cinema in Town Plan 3 2014 Parisian Restaurant Business/Residential Straight Build 32 wide 3 2015 ? Government Straight Build 32 wide 4 2016 Garage Business Corner Build 32 wide Garage in Town Plan 4 2017 ? Business/Residential Straight Build 2 x 16 wide 4 2018 ? Government Straight Build 32 wide But once the 2015 build is announced then this theory could be blown out of the water. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
scottwb2010 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I tend to agree with you here! I eventually bought it but it wasn't a rush out and get purchase as I thought it was just too different to the others. Don't get me wrong it has some great build techniques but not the greatest Modular IMO. -
Review: 60036 Arctic Base Camp (A review in 5 parts)
scottwb2010 replied to woofmcmoose's topic in LEGO Town
Hopefully the science lab from the Arctic Icebreaker could join this. Failing that then hopefully all the parts for these 2 sets are available from bricks and pieces to make a good modded base camp! Also hope the UK price of £59.99 is the real price as the local Lego shop informed me that it was £69.99, which would mean that the US price of $89.99 works out a better deal. -

Good thorough review 'woofmcmoose'. Hoping to pick this up soon. Couple of mods need I think on the accommodation block ie step/stairs and accommodation itself and the arm of the tracked vehicle. -
Nice expansion of the official set. Would fit into a city perfectly

Well done LT. All your work has been rewarded.

Saw these in my nearest lego store yesterday and the box art made them so tempting, but have to wait till June as dreaded road tax due this month! Got the 60033 Article Ice Crawler to start my Article theme though. The price of the 60064 Article Supply Plane is £49.99 in the UK

Cheers for posting the photo's 'Echo'. Going to have to get the whole of this Arctic theme!
-
Cheers for the minifig count. The reason that I asked is as the Early Box art showed 8 mini figs! It's a bit strange that they didn't provide a set of steps for the base station. Not many will be able to afford both base camp and Ice Breaker. Would mean access to Base Camp module is via the openable ramp. Even if Ice Breaker module was attached to Base camp there still I wound't really be a way of the workers getting onto the platform at the top of the conyeor apart from opening the side wall. A bit of modding needed I suppose! Do you have any pics of inside the modules?
-
Hi 'Echo' How many minifigs come with that 'Base Camp'? I would guess that the scientist's 'Lab Module' that comes with the Ice Breaker could fit with the Base Camp 'Modules' as they look pretty similar in style!
-
I guess the Arctic theme is one of those you either love or not, as its pretty different to the normal city themes seeing as its been so long since the origanl Arctic theme. Im a fan of it and can't get enough white bricks and plates to build a scene set but its good that some of these Arctic tracked vehicles can be converted/moded into other vehicles for construction, farming etc
-
Hi. The whole Arctic theme is now out in UK lego stores.
-
Just got this info from my nearest store: Yes, we have the City Arctic theme in our store, and we have them all in stock :) The prices are as follows: 60032 - £4.99 60033 - £9.99 60034 - £24.99 60035 - £34.99 60036 - £69.99 60062 - £79.99 The other set with the plane is 60064 Arctic Supply Plane and it is £49.99.
-
From what Ive heard, the Plane is a real set and is now available for sale in UK Lego stores. Sorry not set number or price. Also all Artic sets are available in Sheffield and Leeds store
