Flexible Tubing, red
jantjeuh replied to Lakop's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You mean flex axles? Element ID of the smallest (7L) is 4569751. -
The reason it looks so good is because the original is so incredibly well-designed! All credits to Madoca for that, I merely made a few adjustments.
-
Great to hear the Lego Sensei himself likes my MOD Black bushes are indeed quite rare, but I managed to snatch up 27 of them earlier, so that was no problem. It was harder to replace all the blue axle pins with black ones! Used about 50 of those. Black axles of odd length are quite easy to acquire, though, same for black 3L long pins. The tan parts were mostly pretty cheap, apart from the pin connectors and the bushes. I think all in all the parts in this MOD are worth around € 600.

Well I was after them for a LONG time, so when I had the opportunity to buy four mint ones I jumped at it. They're not getting any cheaper, unless TLG decided to use them again (which I highly doubt).

I've notified him. Maybe he will consider this sacrilege This is the look I was going for:

Yeah, I'm not telling how much I spent to get four mint ones, haha. Next MOC to be pimped: Crowkillers' muscle car.

When I saw Madoca's original beauty in an earlier thread I knew I had to build it. I simply adored the elegancy of its lines. I thought the red colour was kind of boring though (seems like all supercars have to be red), so I figured I'd build the car in black rather than red. I also thought the original interior was kind of sparse and I didn't like the PF wires being in full view, so I covered these up with an all-tan interior. For shits and giggles I also added a 'supercharger' I was kind of going for this look. So, a short list of what I changed/added: Full-black exterior instead of red, even replacing all the pins and axles by black ones Full-tan interior, covering up the PF wires Chrome silver wheels and 'hub caps' Chrome silver side exhausts Chrome silver 'supercharger' Miscellaneous other chrome silver detailing Improved switching mechanism for front lights to make it more reliable and make the front light pop up further Now, without further ado, some pictures: Many thanks to Aureliusz Falowski for his excellent chromed Technic parts! And ofcourse thanks to Madoca for the brilliant original creation. Hope you like it! P.S.: apologies for the mediocre quality of the photos, I'm a complete n00b when it comes to photographing and DSLRs.

Don't let them get you down Ted, you're doing a great job. I agree with the dimensions change.

Citroen Saxo WRC

Good job, I love the engine! -
Dark blue looks a lot better. You don't happen to have some DB panels in surplus that you're willing to sell? I need them badly.

Great idea for a contest, Ted. Looking forward to all the studded beauties that will surely be put forth.

They're dark blue. Wish dark blue panels weren't imited to 41999 (and thus be crazy expensive), I want to build a dark blue supercar

Looks like 31 wins it. Congrats Doc_Brown! Deserved winner IMO. Might be too complex for TLG to release as a set though. Edit: hmm, at a second glance it looks like 22 and 29 also got lots of votes. Too early to call I guess
