  1. All official Lego retail stores feel like souless husks, it's depressing that you can travel to another continent and the lego stores, uniforms, displays will all look identical. Every Lego store should have their own unique look. If located in an area known for breathtaking nature (i.e. Vancouver), it should have classy wooden furnishings, dim rustic lighting, and lots of natural light; or if the store is located in an upscale luxury mall it should have a marble interior, etc. The yellow aprons also don't make much practical sense compared to workers that wear them in food service, or in hardware/gardening stores like Home Depot.
  2. I don't think brick link element IDs correspond with b&p on many pieces, have to search by name. For this piece, there's 3 colour variants, and around Nov 2021 I ordered a bunch of green and blue pieces.
  3. The opposite of melting happens with Lego, instead they dry out and become very brittle, eventually crumbling after enough decades.
  4. I still remember the glory days of B&P, where you could get extremely specialized parts and in various colours: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=65227pb02&name=Minifigure Pedestal Ghost / Smoke with Marbled Lime Pattern&category=[Energy Effect]#T=C&C=108
  5. Close to 50 stickers should be a con, just saying.
  6. I wish I could just buy the platform without the actual train. Also, it looks like a huge amount of the parts budget went into the black display/rail.
  7. The real Lego space theme are Space Police, Ice Planet, Spyrius, Roboforce, Exploriens, and UFO. In comparison, classic space is significantly inferior in design, creativity, and build engineering.
  8. Lol I'm guilty of this, especially when it comes to Marvel sets. I'll buy sets just for the minifigs to throw onto the Bugle trying to justify that the parts will be useful in later mocs. I would consider myself lucky if I even ended up using 10% of those parts for mocs. It's definitely wasteful, but Bricklink isn't exactly a good option either as I find buying minifigs separately can often cost 50% or more of the value of the set.
  9. I'm not sure how Lego could effectively police this. I guess they're tracking counterfeit reports, and if it reaches a certain threshold they'll probably buy one and verify themselves.
  10. To me that sounds like a win-win LOL, actual DC fans might get more sets albeit from a different brand. I'm thinking more of consolidating the design teams in hopes of higher quality sets at various price points. Occasionally, Batman will get high quality small-medium size sets, i.e. Tumbler Scarecrow Showdown; while Marvel small-medium size sets are very lacking in terms of design, and only ever receives high quality sets at the high price point, i.e. Daily Bugle or Sanctum.
  11. I can't even do that as a human. Sometimes i'll open up a box to do a parts/bag check and I can never place the bags back in evenly, the box always end up a bit inflated.
  12. Wow looks incredible, and thank you so much for posting free instructions/tutorial!
  13. I want Lego to drop the DC license and focus solely on Marvel, even if that means losing Batman sets.
  14. Similar to the size and price of New Asgard/bro Thor, I would love to have a room of the Loki hideout
  15. Wow that engine is intense, really nice moc. My only issue is the windshield, it's better than the piece used in the actual set, but still looks quite blocky.
  16. Now that Speed Champions is diving into movie/entertainment franchises, these are my top 3 wishes: 1. Toyota Trueno AE86 from Initial D 2. Ford Falcon XB GT from Mad Max Fury Road 3. Porsche 911 Turbo from Cyberpunk (or any of the retro-futuristic cars like the Quadra or Shion)
  17. I'm devastated this beat out the Naruto ramen shop :(
  18. I really hope these new Spiderman buildable figures flop. I presume they're for young kids but in that case, just get them the actual Marvel Legends figure. It's sad that these abominations will take up limited warehouse space and subtract from the overall prints budget, while the Sanctum only gets 1 single print and close to 50 stickers. While no one wants more mechs, why can't we get decent dioramas that combine excellent display and play.
  19. Video reviews are out for the new Sanctum set... huge bummer that they still can't get the arm printing for Spiderman right, it's way too dark and doesn't match the bright red at all. More reviewers need to start calling this out besides Jang.
  20. Speaking from my own experience its an aging issue. As a kid I basically moc'd 100% of the time, as an adult the only moc'ing I do is further detailing or hiding spare parts into the build to add more mass/density. Your creativity and imagination just isn't the same as you grow older, and you're far more critical. That said, I love sets specifically meant to customize like the Daily Bugle and Razorcrest.
  21. Avoid buying any sets with white bricks and/or replace all white bricks with a different colour...
  22. My unpopular opinions: Once you run out of display room, Lego becomes a stressful hobby and can lead to mental illness i.e. hoarding Jangbricks is the only good reviewer. He's the only reviewer I've seen call out obvious flaws, such as, weak arm printing on the Spiderman in the Daily Bugle set. Brickset, Jaybricks, and not a single other Lego Youtuber raised the issue. 18+ sets needs to actually utilize 18+ themes for once, i.e. Mad Max: Fury Road
  23. Damn the Sanctum set is a must have set, but I have no more space and an already sizable backlog. Lego is stressful. On the set itself, it looks great but there's so much room for improvement and customization. Also, those clear arm pieces (holding up Ironman/Spiderman) are only on 1 stud connections with one being upside down, not sure how that past testing.
  24. Is the $500 set confirmed to be a Marvel set? If it's DC, I'm going to be disappointed lol
