  1. Wow that's a lot of mechs... give us an Illuminati battlepack, you cowards!
  2. Any $300-400 set can be easily price gouged to $500 off the Marvel license alone, throw in a few gimmicks like light bricks and then you have even more "justification" for the crazy price. Take a look at the $500 UCS Hogwarts Express, you're honestly not getting that much for what you're mainly paying for which is the train, a big chunk of the parts budget goes into something superfluous like the tracks. Another example is the UCS AT AT, after the price hikes it costs close to $1k, so you can kinda extrapolate that the $500 Marvel may be roughly half the size of the UCS AT AT which will have similar licensing markups.
  3. These are my 3 random guesses: UCS Bifrost - technically a vehicle >.>
  4. We're they trying to go for scales... or an edible ice scream waffle cone
  5. Possibly a UCS Q-Ship? But in all honesty, pretty sure the leakers are just clickbaiting like crazy right now and overall spreading as much misinformation as possible.
  6. Does anyone know if the navy blue 32x32 base plate from the Lighthosue set will be available on PAB?
  7. Speaking more broadly and in a 'make-a-wish' style post, this is the direction I would like to see Lego move towards completely based on my 100% biased and probably unpopular opinion: 1. Expansion of the Marvel theme: a) Carve out and consolidate Marvel buildable figures, 4+, juniors sets with their own allocated budget and design team b) Maintain the MCU team - similar to the above, have a separate team focused on generic appeal, i.e. latest movies/shows. Not much change to the overall design philosophy, create quick sets catering to broadest appeal for both kids and adults, meaning mechs, vehicles and occasional buildings with varying quality. c) Create a new team dedicated to comic books with mature themes and higher end display sets - team will be focused on creating UCS quality sets, such as, Daily Bugle 1-2 times a year, while pushing out sets catering towards older audiences but at a lower/medium pricepoint, i.e. dioramas and the Benatar. 2. New licensed theme based on the world of League of Legends/Arcane - I don't care which existing theme(s) needs to die to make room for Runeterra sets just as long as the design philosophy is based on quality and attention to detail. 3. Vikings - as they are I'm completely uninterested, perhaps if they leaned in towards the mythological aspect it would be more interesting to me. Modern God of War is a good example which blends realism/adult themes with fantasy in both Greek and Norse mythology. With Lego making Horizon Dawn sets, I would gladly sacrifice the Vikings theme to make room for God of War sets. 4. Jurassic Park - not completely against the theme, dinosaurs are awesome for all ages. I would probably just like to see a separate team dedicated to high end displays similar to the below. Even the UCS T-Rex/gate set doesn't quite meet my personal expectations: 5. Castle - regarding the direction of castle, I would personally become interested if all the sets were inspired by historical events or literature. a) Have all existing factions (Lion Knights, Black Falcons, Wolfpack, etc) represent a fictional version of a real historical kingdom. Redesign and create new factions as necessary, new sub factions should be created to represent things like knightly orders (Teutonic, Templars) or new factions for the Ayyubid Dynasty or the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Over time slowly branch into more factions present in the medieval ages like the Roman Catholic Church, Mongol Empire, Barbarian Hordes, etc. b) Create sets - diorama of Joan of Arc depicted as a patron saintess, King Henry and the Battle of Agincourt, medieval hospital during the bubonic plague (similar to scale as medieval blacksmith), King Baldwin/Leper King carriage and royal guard battlepack :D
  8. Looks like it's going to be a long wait. Not interested in those hideous buildable figures, and not really interested in the Black Panther 2 sets, overall set design seems to be a bit of a step down from the Endgame sets. I'm actually really glad that the $500 USD set is going to be controversial and not a set for most people, that's A LOT of money saved! The hulkbuster 2.0 might be tempting depending on how good the design looks, but I find the dome headpiece to be a bit limiting and it looks quite bad when scaled up for bigger mechs.
  9. Wishing you best of luck with your research, but I'm wondering with how underfunded the US public education system is which regions can actually afford LEGO Learning Systems?
  10. Make the multiverse, have one normal Earth 616 sanctum, then make Sinister Strange haunted/rundown sanctum.
  11. That's a fun idea, I was thinking of just throwing a blonde hair piece to emulate the 'what if' Nebula with a Christmas sweater. That said, I always have a hard time justifying the cost of an advent calendar. For what you're paying, you're not getting much.
  12. Lol if I'm being honest, I'm not a fan of either 3 of those sets. Vikings, you already know my take, minigolf while interactive will probably feel like a gimmick in reality, for marine life I only like the jellyfish, all 3 need to be bangers for me to buy. That said out of the 3, I like marine life the most. As of late Lego just hasn't sparked my interest in a majority of the sets/themes, it just feels like they are rehashing old ideas. While it's a guaranteed financial success, it just isn't that interesting to me.
  13. Both the Castle and Vikings theme is starting to overstay it's welcome, but I get it, nostalgia can be a powerful and blinding drug. On the licensed side, the same thing is happening with Indiana Jones and already happened with Jurassic Park/World. A lot of hype/sets dedicated for terrible reboots largely driven by nostalgia for the originals.
  14. The guy who can see dead people from Umbrella Academy almost looks identical to Ezra Miller, even his mannerisms are kinda similar. WB should cast him as the replacement.
  15. Just curious, are all the Sanctum windshields missing some print on the bottom right?
  16. Personally, I would find the Battle of NY to be somewhat uninteresting, it's essentially a scene right out of Power Rangers where the heroes are noob stomping hundreds of fodder. I think a small diorama would be better suited for this scene, where you have the Avengers form up in a circle.
  17. This is the one and only reason why I want the Lighthouse set, to recreate this in Lego:
  18. I think if you mirrored the Sanctum it would extend beyond the base plate by 1/2 a stud on each side or you could try to tighten the angle, either way it wouldn't be an easy mod and a pretty big overhaul. I'm 2/3rds done the Sanctum and overall I'm loving the set, but I do wish the designer gave us a back alley of 4 studs instead of 6 studs though... 6 studs feels quite wasteful, especially with the mainfloor feeling so cramped.
  19. With the Kotor remake being delayed indefinitely, I think that further reduces the already extremely slim chances we'll get Old Republic sets again.
  20. Oops my bad, thought I had posted this in the other subforum... I guess for my unlicensed idea/wish, I would love to see an 18+ theme centered around the extreme consequences of climate change and other naturally occurring disasters. I envision most of the sets would be diorama based, but depict scenes of flooding, draught, volcanic eruptions, meteorite crash, corporations dumping chemicals into water sources, etc. It's a bit extreme but would make for excellent sets.
  21. Temper expectations = it's worse than Daily Bugle or Sanctum Santorum, which basically means we're getting $500 worth of Hogwarts Express disappointment.
  22. For the 1st Vulture pic, is it just the camera angle or did colour over some of the skin tone around the mask? It bothers me so much that there's a bunch of skin showing on this piece: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb2930&idColor=77#T=C&C=77
  23. TLG needs to break all existing contracts with Blizzard and form a relationship with Riot. I would love to have sets based on Arcane.
  24. I would laugh so hard and then start crying if the $500 set ended up being a UCS Marvels Icons set. Either way, the $500 set is not for me, I'd much rather have that money going towards a PS5 or getting a higher end GPU.
