Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Yeah smaller scale than the video would be better, that was the only video I could find on an attempt at a UCS Sentinel. -

It's the opposite for me, I feel like Lego doesn't use colour enough and will most of the time cheap out and just default to light bluish grey. The most recent and biggest offender being the new Quinjet. I still wish we would get a sand blue Tie Fighter similar to the old school Kenner toys. -

We need a UCS Sentinel. Give it some modular features like swappable battle damage or weapons, and lots of port holes to stick those transparent clear rods similar to the Sanctum. -
In all honestly, I would advise against this idea. Not sure what the initial objective or grading criteria is, but a sustainability project would probably net an easier and higher score. I.e. shelf made out of biodegradable materials, that can be easily collapsed, transported and reassembled for use cases like disaster sites but aesthetic enough to use at home. Looking at your survey now, shelves with glass doors are simply cabinets...

UV, dust, and animals are more room controlled factors, than the type of material or features built into the shelf. Unless you go Mad-Engineer and build into the shelf directly fans + air filters for the dust, motorized blinds for the UV, and electric circuit or proximity alarm to scare away animals...

Yep it's so much more refreshing and enjoyable to build a set without any stickers.

Unpopular Opinions about LEGO

While I find Minecraft as a game very fun and creative, and at times even beautiful in modded worlds. I guess I'm just not a fan of Lego Minecraft , the value is not there for me even as parts packs, and I don't think I've ever been wowed by any of the official set designs. That said, Minecraft sets don't have to be poorly designed while still maintaining the theme of Minecraft, they can also be good in the hands of a skilled designer that puts more effort: -

TBH I'm not a fan of Lego Minecraft at all... buying a classic Creator brick box would give you a much better Minecraft-like experience than the actual Minecraft sets. -

Whichever Lego executive in charge of the Pokemon RFP completely dropped the ball. Ninjago/Monkey Kid is proof that Lego can do anime inspired sets well. The quality of the Avatar: Last Airbender sets was a complete embarrassment, Lego needs to redeem themselves in the anime category by producing the Ideas Naturo Ramen Shop or Ideas Appa set. -

A-frame cabin should have never been selected as a set. It promotes bad housing development practices and is straight up inefficient use of land. A-frame houses are scams similar to shipping container homes. -

It's not really policing, but more so not encouraging ADHD videos critiquing things that are utterly pointless and have no relevance to the actual product itself. Marvel is my favourite Lego theme, but unfortunately good sets (Daily Bugle, Sanctum, Benatar, Bro Thor) are more of an outlier than the norm. That can't change if YouTubers who can provide direct feedback to Lego are focused on nonsensical issues like the logo on the box. -

I read through some of the YouTube comments and apparently it's a problem because it's proof of Lego's "lack of attention to detail" or it's triggering their autistic tendencies. The problem is that these people are focusing on a meaningless thing as their barometer of quality. None of these are people are complaining about set design quality or the over abundance of cheap and poorly designed mechs that we constantly get. It's time to support YouTubers that provide meaningful feedback to Lego on stuff that actually matters. This is a good video on the design experience but IMO probably not critical enough. -

Wow this guy is the prime definition of making a mountain out of an ant hill, it's clear he has no clue how product development works. The guy cares more about meaningless branding than the actual quality of the sets themselves... these people need to touch grass. -

Looks decent, I'm sad it's not a different variant of Dr. Strange but overall I like the vignette/mini diorama style. Also, the cape and hairpiece are really useful for customs. That said, it's better than the Spiderman + drone polybag but significantly worse than the Shang Chi + dragon polybag. -

There's still a ton of unused What-If characters they can use from Season 1. These 3 would probably be some of the most powerful beings represented in minifig form :P 1. Infinity Ultron 2. Strange Supreme 3. Zombie Scarlet Witch There's also Killmonger, post-apocalypse Blackwidow and Hawkeye, etc. We need more What-If! -

Lego didn't do any of the Strange variants justice imo, hope we get a better version of Sinister Strange, Zombie Strange or Strange Supreme. -
Lego set boxes - is flattening them OK?

Recycle the box and reclaim your space. If I'm buying used, there's no way I'm going to pay a premium for a box. -

Oops I never owned the Helicarrier so it looked like a sticker to me lol. For me Modok was the coolest part of the trailer and really like his new design. I would honestly be hyped for a UCS Modok... but I doubt Lego would take the risk after the Black Panther bust. My ideal Modok set would be around the size of the Star Wars helmets/Infinity Gauntlets. Instead of the black brick built stands, make it more basic with clear technic pieces and use the parts to give him detailed arms. -

Modok looks too awesome for a small build with a cheap sticker face again. Even Gargantos size Modok might be too small imo... make him near helmet size with a clear technic stand. -

Tbh I'm more excited for the lego sets than the actual movie. Definitely a wait for Disney+ for me. I also kinda wish the next Marvel modular is based on Quantum Realm architecture. It'll be more interesting than Avenger's Tower, NWH Statue of Construction/Liberty or another regular building in the MCU. -
Could Lego really help with depression and anxiety?
LegendaryArticuno replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego can also become a gateway to depression, hoarding, OCD, and set you back on your financial goals. Just make sure you exert full control over your hobby and not the other way around. -

Lego's attempt at the Great Wave off Kanagawa falls extremely short and is borderline disrespectful to the original artwork. My main issue is the scale. Instead of making the size of the portrait larger which would allow for better detail and accuracy, Lego incorrectly chose to have a huge white border using those white plates which also have ugly mold injection marks on top of the plate. The print of the guys getting swallowed by the tsunami is not accurate to the painting at all. Lastly, there's not enough 3D depth which should be the focal point of Lego art sets... somehow the actual painting itself has more 3D depth than an actual Lego set. This is art: This is a mockery: -

TBH I don't care either, the only set I would want is an MCU Green Goblin and glider. With the Statue of Liberty being a giant construction site with all the scaffolding, I don't think it would make for a visually interesting set. Maybe if they cut out the entire lower torso, almost like a bust. That way the parts budget could support a detailed torch and shield. -

Yeah, this is definitely a "concern" for me as well, there's just so many iconic X-men. I really hope they upgrade Cyclops and do him justice, I'm not a fan of just the minifigure head + print and Lego has done a lot of hair/visor specialized pieces in Ninjango so hoping Marvel can get that same treatment. Also, hope we get some of the characters like Beast, Jubilee, Psylocke, Gambit, Iceman, Bishop, Cable, Angel, Banshee, Apocalypse, Mr. Sinister, there's just a lot of potential that Lego has yet to explore with X-men. Playsets are not the way to go if you care about quality. -

People conveniently ignore City as a theme with some of the most outrageous markups despite having no licensing fees attached. City used to be the value theme but that has not been the case for many years now.
