Wonderful scene! Really beautiful to look at. Lovely, thanks a lot for sharing! :-) Maybe too much rectangularity, random angles of the boats would have added a lot of variety I think.

The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-Up and Discussion, Era II
Elostirion replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wow, thanks! I didn't expect this great feedback. :-) As said on Flickr: Plain white torso, printed decals for front and back on labelling paper, cut them and put them on front and back. For design I took one from Eurobricks Pirate Torso Library and modified it towards my needs. Next I present some Mercenaries at the Sea. Their main job is to command and operate the artillery, but also fight in melee if neccessary:- 243 replies

[COR] Medium Sugar Plantation
Elostirion replied to Flavius Gratian's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
While the rendering might need some work, the rest of the MOC is amazing. The fields seem really crowded with plants and look great, the house is well built and seems perfect for the purpose. Nice minifig posing, great base layout with the paths, nice colour choice - wonderful work all around. And really, the fields seem so vivid, fantastic. :-) -
Another really nice ship of yours. Easy to recognize your style in this one. What else to say? I like it a lot. Keep them coming, and coming, and coming. :-)

Settlement: Nova Terreli, Nellisa, Eslandola
Elostirion replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nellisan Taxation Law With the emergence of trade in our ports came many challenges to the Nellisan towns, like increased crimes, pollution or wearing of our piers. To maintain the basis for free trade that every merchant in the Brick Seas appreciates Nellisan ports for, we will from now on collect a small harbour maintenance fee: > 5 DBs harbour fee per ship level, regardless of your purpose > 20% taxation on your cargo value > Eslandolan vessels will not have to pay any harbour fee, but the cargo-taxation Please pay your fees to the harbour master when entering our ports. Local ambassadors of foreign nations may invite the mayor of Nova Terreli to their embassy in town to negotiate favoured terms. Currently the towns of Nova Terreli and Montario have signed the Taxation Law, yet others may follow. signed: Isabella Elisa Fontonajo, deputy mayor of Nova Terreli- 81 replies

Very nice MOC, lovely integration of the building into the terrain. The rendering seems a bit too dark, though? Great to see you went the extra mile for a very nice interior on top.

Also some great points from @Bregir, especially that trade value should not so much limit the profits, but rather the amount of tradable goods. So Trade value 100 vs. 1000 should not make a huge difference if only one ship visits, but definitely make a massive difference if 20 ships visit. Also I fully agree with @Bart, that towns MUST profit from the MRCA. I think we might go as far as to entirely remove the profits from land-based EGS for towns (maybe keep them in some point system to finance defense, but nothing else really) and maybe entirely base town-profits on the MRCA. Else taxation may always be an option.

Profit by destination: I took the top ten destination towns, which make up for 84% of all MRCA-profits, and set their profits in relation to the total profits from this MRCA (48.298 DBs). Top 10 settlements: Western Seas OL Breshaun 9.592 DBs 19,9% Eastern Seas ESL Nova Terreli 5.377 DBs 11,1% Crossroads NPC Kings Port 4.849 DBs 10,0% Old World OL Granoleon 4.756 DBs 9,8% Old World NPC Londa 3.959 DBs 8,2% Old World COR Belson 3.830 DBs 7,9% Old World NPC Kieg 2.655 DBs 5,5% Western Seas ESL Weelond 2.356 DBs 4,9% Eastern Seas ESL Trador 1.867 DBs 3,9% Eastern Seas COR Mooreton Bay 1.311 DBs 2,7% Sum by Regions: Old World 15.200 DBs 31,5% Western Seas 11.948 DBs 24,7% Eastern Seas 8.555 DBs 17,7% Crossroads 4.849 DBs 10,0% Sum by Nations: OL 14.348 DBs 29,7% NPC 11.463 DBs 23,7% ESL 9.600 DBs 19,9% COR 5.141 DBs 10,6% So what does this tell us? - Most profits are still being made by sailing to the old world and selling goods there. - Sailing from the Old World to the New World seems like the way to make money. - One third of all MRCA profits were made in Oleon's two most important towns (by destination). - 1 settlement makes up for 20% of all gained profits, 5 settlements for 59%, and 10 settlements for 84% (a total of 39 destination towns in this MRCA). - Remark: Most of the other 16% by the other 29 settlements were actually in the eastern Seas.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Elostirion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Regarding land-based EGS vs. ship-based EGS: In the long run - even in the medium run - land based EGS is far more profitable. Just look at the account sheet: I am the richest player by far (3x the money of the second richest player, even though I donated away most of my shares in collaborations, so I could probably have 20-30% more money by now), and I haven't been running ships for many, many months. In the early months I have had some great success with ships, which gave me a head-start, for sure. But for long-term wealth and riches land-based might actually be the only way to go in my opinion. I earn 1.6k with my properties per month, 0 upkeep. Who does that with ships? Consistently, every month? Right: Noone does. Land-based is by far the most profitable option in the long run. Any other statement just ignores the numbers from the Account Sheet. For quick profits the TMRCA may be the best option, yes, and every player may participate. Easy as that. On top the new upkeep-rules clearly discourage having a very large fleet. Also every new player may ask for loans from the older playerbase - and will definitely get a loan from some source, to make getting started easier. -
That is once again just wow! The amount of action you manage to convey by posing the mnifigs and objects is absolutely outstanding. You are surely one of the very best MOCers in this regard. Hugely inspirational. And yeah, the build around it is pretty neat as well, as usual. Fantastic!
