The architecture of Salida Este's New Town turned out to be quite different from the rest of the Eslandolan Colonies. In general, the people on Ferro Azure preferred to deviate. And deviation may either make you seem weird, or will make you set trends. The innovative headwear, especially turbans, will most likely soon make its way to the other islands. At least that is what the hatmakers of Salida Este hope for. The dreamy and picturesque appearance of the town has attracted some artists as well. Like Maejo Degunado and his wife, who have spent their fortune on their small house, where the dome roof does not only serve as decoration, but also as their bedroom.

You are incredibly good at those full-lego-mini-scenes. This one is no exception. Great work!

I am so sorry for all the trouble you poor Corries have to go through. The MOC, however, is great. The hedge is superb in both its simplicity and the result. And that door-knob is just really clever. While I am not too sure about the cobbles on grass, the house itself is just fantastic. Most impressing to me is how it really merges Oleon-style into Corrish architecture. I couldn't imagine this mix any better. Great.

Wow, this is impressive, the results are quite astonishing. Thank you for sharing.

The City Gate of Salida Este (Large Commerce) -
The flourishing "New Town" of Salida Este on Ferro Azure has become a frequented place. Merchants from far away meet local tradesmen and the island's natives. A central place for the exchange of goods is the City Gate. The dome towers can be seen from far away, shining bright in sunlight. And while the City Wall would surely not be able to fend off siegeweapons, it is more than sufficient to keep those lousy pirates or wild animals out of town. At the small well locals meet to exchange the latest news. Mostly about trading opportunities, but also just random rumours about the chieftains daughter or the harbourmaster's gout. The "Gate Guards", recognisable by their yellow capes and the fancydecorative feathers, collect the entrance tolls. The capeless "Trade Sherrifs" with their simplistic red plumelets, paid by MCTC, ensure safe and lawful trade in Salida Este. The natives often bring their harvest to exchange it for other goods in town - and while their ox-drawn carts do not live up to modern standards, they do what they are supposed to do. And being Eslandolans, it is no surprise to see the first merchants sell their acquired goods right there at the gate. Welcome to Salida Este, one of the most flourishing Eslandolan Towns in the New World.

What a pile of sh*t. Not your MOC, of course, but what is soon to land on that poor dudes head. Fantastic idea, creative execution, and really, really fitting for the challenge. Wonderful. -

[COR Dec FB6] Poinsettia Dye Factory, Myzectlan (LDD)
Elostirion replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful one. Just really, really well executed, and displays the whole process perfectly. The relfections on the roof are a bit weird (rendering issue), maybe plates instead of tiles would have prevented this? The clay pots and the colours on the table are just cool. Wonderful. -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Elostirion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Oh sorry, misunderstanding here. I did not mean: "I don't understand why leadership did not reply yet." Such a process takes time, take whatever time you need. No problems at all with this, really, and no criticism intended towards leadership. If you need another week or two or three, no worries. :-) What I meant was: "I don't understand why non-leadership players are even talking about this. It's leadership's decision, so why not just wait for it?" -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Elostirion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
While I find it rather confusing that when I ask leadership for a decision on a question it soon becomes a vibrant discussion among the playerbase... it's still quite obvious that there would be at least some major concerns against me licensing MOCs in retrospective. And if I did, even with permission, unhealthy discussions would be the result. So I just won't do it. My licenses for November, October, September, and so on in 2018 are just gone. Fine for me. :-) -
Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Elostirion replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Question towards leadership: Over the past year I almost never licensed any of my MOCs. May I do that now in retrospect? In total I have licensed 1 non-challenge-prize MOC and 3 challenge-prize-MOCs for myself in 2018. Now I have a total of 10 or 11 MOCs ready to be licensed, all of which were constructed over the past year and a half. May I license all of them in retrospect right away, or does the 3/month limit apply, so that I can only license 3/11 now, and 4-6/11 in January, 7-9 in February, and so on? My understanding is that the rule is mainly to prevent cities emerging from 0 to hero within days, but that wouldn't be the case here as a) the MOCs are spread all over the brick seas and b) have been there for months, just not yet licensed. However I am fine with whatever the rules are, after all it's my fault to not have them licensed earlier. :-) -

Really, really clever execution and great use of the MOC to present three small scenes in one MOC. Photography and presentation are flawless. Nice.- 16 replies

[MCTC: Salida Este] Home for the Holidays
Elostirion replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This MOC is just an absolutely amazing creation. Thanks for giving me a chance to borrow the column design. Colour choice and the overall execution are just marvellous. Also really cool idea to put some round 1x1 LGB tiles around the MOC, this gives an amazing irregular and "blending" effect to the actually just plain rectangular base. Very, very clever.- 11 replies

Daily Life in Myzectlan - A Small Collaborative Challenge
Elostirion replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Levanta -
On Cascadia the Myzec have to transport their harvest from their chinampas on Lake Myzec to Myzectlan, their capital. On their path through the jungle the have to traverse many rock walls. To avoid large paths around those the Myzec have invented a construction they call "Levanta", which is basically an elevator for their transported goods, operated by a crank lever on top of the cliff. The Myzec climb the cliffs through stairs or ladders, like in this case.

Cool background story, and so fantastically executed! Lovely. The skull and the sabres at the frame are an excellent addition.

What a wonderful write-up @Capt Wolf - thanks so much! I particularly like the aMRCA summaries. @Maxim I (for yourself and MAESTRO), @Capt Wolf (for MCTC, ESL, Garvey), @Legostone (for yourself) - looking forward to your tax payments towards Nova Terreli.

Thank you! The domes were actually quite a challenge. Took many attempts to get the final design. Thank you so much! Thanks for recognizing the flowerstands. The turntables are definitely not my original idea, I had seen that somewhere before, though executed differently. Glad you like it. Yeah, the interior... I might actually do that in a different MOC, because for this one no chance at all. The reliefs and turntables actually take some space behind to be held in place, there simply is no space for an interior. Also I ran out of dark orange bricks. But still... I will keep the idea of the interior as a separate MOC. Thank you! Thank you so much, glad you like it. Probably the MOC where I gave most attention towards the architecture so far, happy to see it turned out likeable. Hmm... Great to hear you like the small towers, I am not even 100% a fan of them, but dark orange (and also the black slopes) are not my most frequent bricks, so that was the only way anyway. Happy to hear you like the MOC. Thanks a lot, sir! Thank you. As for the towers... well yes and no. You can remove them (they are only held in place by I think 4 studs each), but what you would see below is not an interior or anything, just some random bricks holding the windows and architectural elements in place. YES! MCTC! Thank you, that was what I was aiming for. Thank you so much for noticing all those small details. :-) I will post some pictures of the domes later on. Thank you! :-) Actually I have to admit that the building was there first, and then Capt Wolf came up with the MCTC Colonial HQ idea. And thank you so much for the nice feedback! Jay! Somebody noticed - and liked - the door handles. Thank you for your great feedback! Glad you like it.

Small instruction for how I did the Chinampa @Ayrlego: Thank you very much for the very positive comments @Kai NRG, @Capt Wolf, @Bodi, @Ayrlego. :-) And as usual feel free to copy whatever you want to. That's what a MOCing community is for. Looking forward to some more chinampas.- 9 replies

May the original MOC be used for this? So for example I MOC a hideout of 36x36 studs, showing some guys unloading a ship which is anchored there. Next I remove the ship and the people, add a campfire to the beach and repose the people sitting around the fire, having a rum party. Could I use this to extend it by two (2) turns or would it have to be a totally different scene? Next I remove the campfire and show some people repairing a boat. Another two (2) turns? And so on. Aside from that I am looking forward to some amazing MOCs - and am looking forward to building such a hideout myself at some point. Lovely idea.

[MCTC: Salida Este] Textile Factory
Elostirion replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I still haven't praised you for this stunning MOC in public. It was a pleasure to see it grow to one of the best factory MOCs in BoBS. Thanks for giving me so much credit, however you do not have to hide at all - your creation is simply wonderful! And I would have never ever noticed that interior and exterior are separate MOCs. Fantastic job for going the extra mile and actually building parts of the exterior twice to hide your cheating. Love it.- 15 replies
