  1. Loved this build when it first appeared on Flickr a while ago. I especially like the multiple level aspect of the scene with the busy market place at the bottom and the buildings at the top. I am looking forward to seeing where Al'Sayeed's story goes!
  2. Nice façade, I thought it may have been SNOT when I first saw the picture from the back but I see that was just to block out the light for the windows - good thinking! The colour scheme really works well and I like the details in the garden and across the road. Very cool minifig combo for the guy on the horse!
  3. Yes, You would be proper Corrie nobility and you can style yourself as Duke of XXX... It’s honorary as you won’t get any income or IC land from the title.
  4. Correct, each task must be a unique build. As long as they are in the same location and it makes sense, I see absolutely no issue with this Good question Corlander Nobility goes in order from lowest to highest, Knight, Baron, Earl (or Count) then Duke. An Earl is the same rank as a Count - Earl is the British term - derived I believe from the Viking influence - 'Jarl'. Most European Nobility use Count. Not sure why Ska went with Count when he awarded Count Mesabi his rank... but we went with the British Earl for GoC to conform with Corrington's British and Nordic inspiration. So if your friend wanted to outrank Count Mesabi, they'd need to be a Duke!
  5. A pump station provides fresh water for the people of Port Woodhouse
  6. As the settlement of Port Woodhouse grows, the authorities have had to address the shortage of surface fresh water available on the island. The Royal Corps of Engineers conducted an extensive survey and discovered large underground aquifers. Taking inspiration from developments in Spudkirk, they have constructed a series of wind-powered pump stations to bring the water to the surface. From the pump stations, canals carry the water to a central reservoir to service the needs of the settlement. One of the pump stations can be seen here, with an engineer surveyor and redcoat guard. The pump stations utilise experimental vertical shafts that can take advantage of wind from all directions. Now Port Woodhouse has reliable access to sufficient fresh water to ensure the continued growth of the settlement. _______________________________ A quick digital BoBS build while I am away from my bricks for a couple of weeks. The island description for Garma's Key states "The Key benefits from the rain that falls on its nearby islands, but does not maintain much fresh water of its own." so I've been meaning to address this for some time. The windmill is heavily influenced by this build by bidlopavidlo. The pump station will be licensed as a small factory for Port Woodhouse.
  7. I'm so jealous right now!! Especially that small cup of green leaves.... My nearest pick-a-brick wall (and the only in Australia that I am aware of) is over 1100km away (13-15 hours drive..) Makes it really disappointing when they don't have anything good on the wall!
  8. I really enjoyed this series of builds and story Khorne, the minifigs are perfect for the characters you are depicting and the house they are campaigning outside of is wonderful! Great work!
  9. Welcome to Corrington DonRamon! An excellent introduction story and accompanying builds, Corrington is lucky to have you aboard! I am looking forward to seeing where Lieutenant Carling's adventures take him.
  10. A nice, unique initiative @Keymonus, I look forward to participating!
  11. I understand that they don’t generate income immediately; however In the past they have always added to the settlement size immediately. This has not occurred for this sheet. Is this something we have changed recently?
  12. May-August 2019
  13. Hi Captain Genaro, these two properties I registered in Port Woodhouse do not appear to have registered on the sheet. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/172306-goc-administrative-offices-port-woodhouse/ https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/172853-cor-aug-fb1-swordsmith-port-woodhouse/ Thanks
  14. Very nice training ground. I especially like the technique you have used for the dark red roof. The balcony level really adds depth to the scene and the tower is also nicely done. Those new shields are indeed great and everytime I see them on Flickr I have to resist the urge to get straight onto Bricklink!
  15. Nice temple Ross, the shaping of the buttresses along the sides looks good and the use of the classic pines is a great touch. As usual it's the minifigs that stand out though. Great uniformity with the haircut of the monks and interesting bright red robes. Great addition to your story.
  16. Really lovely plantation. I like how you have built the level up to the house and how the path meanders up the hill. The vine covered balcony is a nice touch and of course the plentiful oranges really make the scene. Great work!
  17. Since arriving in Port Woodhouse a month ago, Dirk Allcock has been informally touring some of the new establishments in the settlement in his role as Governor. Once such establishment is the residence and workshop a newly arrived master swordsmith, Bjorn Carlson.Bjorn, his wife and son; have travelled from the northern Corlander town of Hvalfanghimr to establish themselves in the New World. On hearing that Port Woodhouse was a major base for both the Royal Navy and Corlander Army, Bjorn decided to set up his workshop and sell his wares to the soldiers and sailors of the garrison. Accompanying Dirk is his trusted Sergeant Liam Gowan who is happy to show his beloved musket to Bjorn's son while the Colonel and swordsmith talk. Bjorn is telling Dirk of the unexpected landing his ship made on the island known as 'Gunpowder Island' to the north. "We were experiencing a bad storm and the Captain of our ship, rather than press on for Port Woodhouse, sought shelter in a cove on the southern side of the island. It was unusual as the sand ofn the beach was as black as midnight. We landed a small party to seek fresh water and I accompanied them for no particular reason other than I had been stuck on the ship since departing King's Harbour. As the sailors filled some barrels at a creek, I took some interesting looking rock samples, geology being a hobby of mine. As we returned to the ship, we were set on by fierce natives without warning. The sailors and marines fought them off, but two of the sailors suffered wounds from their primitive weapons. During the fight, I lost my samples, but I believe that they were probably copper ore." After saying farewell, Dirk returned to his residence thinking. The Gunpowder Island had been the subject of numerous rumours of late; strange bird-like creatures, monkeys and some nonsense regarding hallucinogenic bananas... Rumours of hostile natives and rich copper veins were also not new. Perhaps it was time Corrington send some strongly escorted prospectors to the isle to take a look....?
  18. Great work on the scene, especially the winch itself. I'm looking forward to the story continuing!
  19. @Legonaut / all, we no longer use this thread. Submit a Build Submittal Form to earn DBs for free builds.
  20. 1. Submit the Build Submittal Form. You don't need to do this to license a build and you should do it for all builds even those that can not be licensed. It gives a small amount of DBs (capped each month). As with all forms, ensure you use your exact username and settlement name (just the name of the settlement - not the island or anything else) as listed in the accounts spreadsheet. 2. Submit a Property License Form. Again be sure to use the exact names as per the accounts spreadsheet. If you want to license on behalf of the settlement or faction rather than your own name, use either the settlement or faction name in the builder name field. The accounts sheet is live so once the form is submitted you should see the updates after a few minutes (although there is currently an issue with the sheets that Captain Genero is looking into) 3. Post in the settlement thread so that the owner of the settlement can update the settlement size and license status. With this build, I'd recommend a small residence. If you haven't already used it, you can claim your first property license for free, although you can't use it for a residence so maybe your next build? To do this, when filling out the form simply tick the option that states "Yes, this is my first small property that is not a residence, mine, or fort" If you need any help, please let me know!
  21. Great take on the Port Woodhouse style. I particularly like the combination of SNOT and studs up curves and slopes to create the irregular base. I have incorporated the clever chimney design into my Port Woodhouse WIP. Nice work and don't forget to post in the Port Woodhouse settlement thread with license status so we can keep track of settlement growth. Keep up the good work!
  22. @Roadmonkeytj map updated! https://www.flickr.com/photos/130277129@N03/41822732770
  23. @Roadmonkeytj Sorry I missed that one, I'll get it fixed! Are the SR formally claiming the whole of island 21? or is this only squatter settlement?
  24. If you're as confused as me trying to keep up with who has claimed what in the Prio Sea, I have just updated the political map showing all current claims and settlements. If I've missed your settlement, let me know and I'll fix it.
