  1. In the race to dominate the Brick Seas; superior information, meticulous planning and more than a little cunning are required. Luckily for these Redcoats, Eurobricks member Evancelt has just constructed a Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse. Check out the action in the Brethren of the Brick Seas forum now!
  2. Ok all, best I can do at this stage! Not all perfect. If anyone else wants in on the action, let me know and I will see what I can do.
  3. Nostalgic for the glory days of LEGO Pirates? Then head to the Pirate MOC Forum right away to check out forum member Kozikyo86's re-imagining of these classic pirate sets in Smuggler's Shanty and Castaway's Raft!
  4. Hi Fraunces, the link you posted doesn't seem to work? Also from memory I think one of the brothers is the fig in your avatar? Where is that head from? I'm trying to work out if I have it around somewhere!
  5. Great interior scene - you are killing these little scenes lately! Like others have pointed out, the curve in the wall really makes this build pop - the colour combinations are amazing as well! Great job!
  6. Great little scene! I love how cosy it turned out
  7. Nice work, I could see these being official sets. You have managed to capture the style of the last pirate line and Barracuda Bay with a homage to the original sets. Islanders would be a logical next step!
  8. The use of the black grille pieces for the wrought iron balcony worked really well - that time spent on options was well worth it!
  9. Too easy! I think it is, although I never owned any Space Police 2 sets. I ordered it from Bricklink :)
  10. Thanks! The mini-engines were created using 48169 'Light Bluish Gray Technic, Brick Modified 2 x 2 with Pin Hole, Rotation Joint Socket' as they appear in the speeder in 7261 I originally had an additional 48169 at the rear of the starboard engine, but I only had a total of three and couldn't replicate it on the port side, so I had to modify the rear of both engines. Here is a breakdown of the wing structure for you :)
  11. Welcome valon! Yes we are still at war with Oleon. It's been a bit quiet lately as we are all waiting on the results of the last 'turn' but I expect that things will heat up again when we get the results.
  12. Hi everybody! Here is my first foray into the Neo Classic Space genre, the X-2 Patrol Craft and my first post here in the Sci-Fi section of the forums. I had a lot of space sets as a child but when castle was introduced and I got my first Black Falcon castle, unfortunately space lost a lot of it's appeal for me. As an AFOL I have long admired the Neo Classic Space genre, and I finally decided it was time to give it a go! I decided to go with the somewhat under represented grey/trans green scheme as it was one of my favourites when I was younger and one of my earliest memories is getting 6940 for my (5th? maybe 4th?) birthday. I was so excited but my parents made me go to school before I was allowed to build it! The challenge with this one was to use existing parts in my collection - which I mainly did although I had to order the trans-green windshield. It did force me to break the rule of not mixing grey and bley as I only had the tail fin, windshield attachment plate and ski pieces in old grey. Hopefully it is not too much of an eyesore! I have since made an additional 2 bricklink orders, so I suspect it won't be long before more spaceships join the X-2! Plus I really enjoyed something different to my usual pirate/castle builds! I do plan a modification in the coming week(s) to the blue/trans yellow scheme just to see what it looks like. Anyway, suggestions and criticism welcome, thanks for looking. EDIT: Added the Blue/Bley 'Classic' version below! The Federation recognised the potential of the X-2 Patrol Craft developed for the Proto-Security Forces. A conversion was ordered for regular service as a scout. Six laser canon were considered over kill for a scout craft, so the outboard centre cannon were removed and replaced with sensor equipment. The canopy was changed to the regular trans-yellow and the main engine space was elongated to contain extra fuel cells for greater range.
  13. Task 11: Strategic Outposts 3: Customs post and coastal surveillance station
  14. A customs post and coastal surveillance station for Hussar's Isle. Licensed as a large commerce for Corrington
  15. Hussar's Isle; a tiny Corlander settlement in the Rider Island's to the North East of Cocovia, exists purely to watch over the Northern approaches to the important Corlander settlements of King's Harbour and Quinnsville on Cocovia. At this time the settlement is still purely a military outpost and construction has recently been finished on a fortified customs office and coastal surveillance station. Manned by a Royal Customs and Excise Officer and a half company of Royal Marines, the outpost is tasked with recording maritime traffic in the Northern approaches to Cocovia. Equipped with a powerful telescope, the ships can be spotted a long way out to sea. An attached hussar can gallop quickly to the semaphore station or fort with news of approaching vessels. The marines man the battlements and the outpost is kept stocked with a good supply of power and shot to see of any potential raiders. I was very impressed by @evancelt's semaphore station on Hussar's Isle recently and have been meaning to build here myself for quite some time... (I have now almost built in every Corrie settlement... only Brickford Landing to go I think). I tried to incorporate some nods to his and @Bregir's previous builds at this location, using dark bley rockwork and dark tan landscaping. Someone posted a build with some white profile bricks earlier in the year which made me very excited, as I have been waiting for a long time for TLG to release them in white. Alas it was not to be! But it did get me wondering and I recently was able to acquire a hundred or so off-brand white profile bricks. So I've given them a go here and it re-enforces my desire for TLG to release them in white ASAP! Anyway my third and last build for Task 11 'Strategic Outposts' for GoC. Ownership will be turned over to the faction and it will be licensed as a large commerce in Hussar's Isle. I quite enjoyed this one, hope you guys do too!
  16. Hi all! For the end build on the 24th, I thought I might try and include as many peoples sigfigs and/or important characters as possible. If you would like me to attempt one of your characters, can you please post here with their name and a small thumbnail of (or link to) their appearance. I can't guarantee I've got the parts for everybody - but I'll try! PS It doesn't have to make in-game sense for your character to appear in my build - it's strictly a Merrymas build for fun! So Corries and Oleonese will be side by side, even dastardly pirates can participate!
  17. A Watermill for Hojaroja licensed as a large factory for @The Neighborhood Merchant. Will bring the settlement up to 'Town' status!
  18. The quiet Eslandolan settlement of Hojaroja is slowly growing, and with that growth comes the requirement to be more self sufficient. Small crops of grains are now being grown to feed the settlement and the requirement to grind them down to flour is meet by this watermill. Situated on a gently flowing stream, the water current is enough to power a small wheel that operates the grindstone within. WIP and build log thread here. Thank you everyone who provided suggestions and comments along the way. Now here is the finished product! A second build for @The Neighborhood Merchant as a final down-payment for his Class 7 HMS Legion. I will license as a large factory on his account. I actually think I like the first build (Postmaster's office) better than this one. Still it was an interesting build and that is by far the largest tree I have ever constructed (there are approximately 300 leaves in the big tree - I think it could have probably easily used another 100-200!
  19. Cool concept! The purple and magneta hues in the darkening sky are really effective - not colours I would have thought of using. Also that's a neat (not so) little camp fire. Nice work and it is great to see some life on Lacryma and the Onondaga people.
  20. Darnok, slot me in where ever you need a build.
  21. Nice work in keeping to the establish themes for Mooreton Bay! The new hair/tricorne piece looks good on that torso, I haven't seen that before.
  22. That’s a really cool little bridge; although, I’m not sure I’d want to lead a horse over it! Bravo Captain Brickleton! Great color scheme, I love the use of the yellow and orange in the landscape.
  23. Update 5 So I took the above advice on the pathway and have integrated the MDF and dark tan plates/tiles. I couldn't lower the pathway level without major effort, so rather I will continue to build the surrounding landscape up so it appears sunk into the ground a bit more. The tree will be tricky! I've never really been happy with my larger tree efforts and this is by far the largest I've ever attempted! I am hoping that the addition of foliage will help alot - but foliage will be the last thing to be added due to it's fragile nature. I am beginning to fear I may not have enough autumn leaves.... I estimate I currently have around 200 dark red and maybe about 100 dark orange. I could add bright orange/yellow/orange/various other Alt Brick autumn colours, but I wanted to try and restrict myself to just dark red and dark orange for this tree. As you can see, the Tudor sections are almost done, just the window on the front to be added now. I'm debating about the orientation of the roof. I think it will slope from the stair side to the chimney side as it will be easier as I wont have to incorporate the wooden insert over the waterwheel into the roof. Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend, so probably no more updates until next week. Thank you all for the continued input! I think I will leave it half open like this. I don't think adding anything on the interior will be worth the effort as I'm not sure that you will see anything. If it does look gappingly empty I'll stick a minifig or cart or something in the way!
  24. This is really brilliant work! I think it perfectly updates one of my all time favourite pirate sets (I didn't own it as a child but my younger brother did!) and you have captured the Pirates of Barracuda Bay style really well. Bravo! Really well done!
