I bought another Wookiee Gunship today. I know it is considered the pariah of the first wave but it's not that bad Beside Wookiee sets are a rare sight

[WIP] [MOC] Kangaxx's tower (evil wizard). Need advice.
BrickSev replied to alainphoto's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
As your first MOC it is indeed truly impressive I understand your point when you say you don't want to link your MOC to an "established universe": even I like to set my stories in an "original universe". However I wouldn't completely ignore Orthanc set. It can be a very nice "starting point" (or a way to "upgrade" your project in future) Personally I have a lot of difficulties in finding Black Gates sets at a reasonable price but it's just where I live I truly believe (one or even more, depending on how much you want to spend on this project) Orthanc set wouldn't be wasted. By the way, your MOC looks already nice, so congratulations and keep up the good work -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I see your point. I just "snapped" lol at the "implied" comments. Beside there was another reason I mentioned the "lack of woman traits" in the Minifigure: future use of that part. Let me explain. Female Minifigures are indeed becoming more common but there aren't a lot of them, so when I get some duplicate in the Minifigures bags I still hope I can reuse those parts for some custom project. So I just wish I could have gotten another part to use for a "Woman Minifigure" outside the "Kimono Girl" context, that's all I was speaking more like a MOCer/MODer (in that case Minifig customization ) than reviewer -
I'd need advice on a LOTR/ The Hobbit project
BrickSev replied to BrickSev's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I had the same though. I recently found and bought the Goblin King Battle and I'm very pleased with it. It's a good scenery too. But the remaining sets are so undertone. Perhaps only Dol Gur Battle would be nice for scenery (and Lonely Mountain which I already have ) but the other are just few ruins or a bridge and nothing else -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was talking about "biological traits" not cleavage. Actually I'm more bothered by the persons here trying to accuse me of being sexist just because I made a critic on the Minifigure design. And since I always respect women a lot, much more than most persons in the world I found the whole polemic a bit offensive to be honest. For the records let's not forget the most sexist society in the world actually forces woman to not express their wonderful femininity and forces them to cover every inch of them. I'm not arguing with you, of course We are just talking about Minifigures but I don't accept implied accusations of being sexist. Back on topic: I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of back printing in many Series 13 Minifigures. However I appreciate the "side leg printing" of the holster on the Sheriff. It's a classy touch -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

Well it's biology: a woman's torso is different from a man's one I'm not trying to enter the "curves quarrel" lol but a woman torso is obviously different from a man's one. The fact I may like curves lol is not relevant in this context -
Of course it's exciting I was trying to not rely too much on hope lol. I think, but this is just my personal opinion, they do build many of those ideas projects. The fact most of them didn't make into "mass production" sets makes that room we saw a "collector heaven" One of a kind lego sets, made by Lego itself! Wow! They are truly priceless
-
There are many sets that have been seen in those videos but that we know they will never be produced. There are a lot of Star Wars sets that can be seen in the recent Lego Ideas video like a Yavin Temple, a UCS Probe Droid and even what looks a Trade Federation Battleship. I read several of those sets have been seen before but never made into sets. I think they are the "test models" the team build before they decide if they can be made into "mass production". From a collector point of view they are priceless. One of a kind items

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion

It's very difficult to get what we are looking for when many persons "raided" the boxes for what they were looking for. If you only want a few figures then a full box is not a good investment since it's not cheap and you'll end with more Minifigures you want/need. Good hunting, for the Minifiugures you're looking for, of course Series 13 has amazing army building capabilities. I even made a sort of "army" out of Hot Dog guys lol Btw the Snake Charmer can be useful even "out of box" for all those who collect the new Ninjago sets: the enemies are "snake focused" and those Minifigures wouldn't look bad in the "snake army" or whatever they are called I agree with your analysis of the Samurai. Let me add her torso piece is rather disappointing too. They should have used a female torso not a male one (because it really is a male torso piece) it's a bit weird to be honest. Also not even her back armor is printed: the same design of the front would be have been enough but we get just "plain red" Re the printed back of other Minifigures: personally I'd prefer all Minifigures to have back printing. If I want to remove the armor I'd like to have a detailed printing. However while it is "acceptable" for armored Minifigures I think the ones coming with cape truly need a back printing. Not only because you may want to use them without the cape but because most of the times the back is not completely covered by the cape and we can actually see part of back. -
The Hot Dog Man Minifigure seems to have become quite popular so just for fun I decided to make a little, curious project about it "If you have a hungry problem, if no sandwich can help, and if you can find them in mystery bags, maybe you can hire... The Hot Dog Team " Let me know what you think Like I said just a little project made out of fun and curiosity

Very nice video I know stop motion is not an easy task, especially when so many pieces are involved. I'll like it as soon as I log into my youtube account- 11 replies

Do you mean the 120K pieces set? I agree: it is impossible for it to become an actual set. A wonderful MOC, for sure but it's impossible for Lego to make. Just think at the possible retail price: insane EDIT: Typo corrected.

I'm not very expert about how Lego Ideas site works but I thought you can't change the "main photo" of your project. I noticed nobody ever put updated photos in the project's main page, so I thought it was the site's design

I live in not very large city in Italy and I don't even have a Lego Store nearby. Then add the fact I lost several sets/pieces I had when I was much younger. But I won't give up I start to have a decent number of parts and those "lost" pieces should be somewhere in some container: one day I'll find them Btw the "stud shooters"photo is a great one. It also proves how bad Stormtroopers' aim is: all those studs before finally hitting the target, because we know Jar Jar's eye was the target since the beginning lol

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I think you sadly run into some "left over" from someone who "felt" for those Minifigures inside that box. Lady Cyclops shouldn't be that common. Actually a box contain more Goblins as well Kings and Alien Troopers than Cyclopses. Regarding the Samurai there are three of her in a full box (but then there is the left over issue, unless you buy a sealed box) I made few calculations and since I wanted multiple of several Minifigures I came to the conclusion I would have spent less money buying a full box and so I did but, of course, if you want just one of each a full box it would be a very high investment -
Check the "updates" page. The author posted the photos of the improved new top Also I think the number of Minifigures should be increased a little
-
It was exactly my thought Sadly I fear that set would be a little too much "micro scale oriented" and anything larger than the micro vehicles coming with it would appear off scale. However it's still very long so I hope the "scale issue" wouldn't be a huge problem
-
I heard a lot of negative feedback on the magnet sets due that reason. It looks a very nice set. I remember when Games Workshop made a set based on that creature (I think it was the same creature: it was quite long ago ) Having it in Lego would be amazing and like you said "it's not too big" etc, so it may have more chances to be approved

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well I just said they remind me of that "Skyrim thing" I'm not very expert about D&D. All the RPG I had the chance to "explore" were set either in Warhammer 40K or Star Wars universe and so they were published by Fantasy Flight Games not Wizards. There is never enough time for every interesting hobby -
I have the same thoughts They are not bad but they look weird sometimes. They would look "silly" displayed with the rest of my starships, vehicles and armies. I bought the Micro Gunship for the Clone Pilot but I have to decide what to do with it. I was even thinking about buying a couple more of them and try to make a larger version but I think it would still look a bit weird. Perhaps if I'll ever buy the new UCS Marvel set coming this month I could "convert" it into SW and those Microfihgters could be take off and land on it

And how did it end? People and companies file complaints about anything. There are persons who would sue someone for the most illogical reasons. They can but finding a court that says they are right it's a far more difficult task

It looks like something in the style of "Hermaeus Mora" from Skyrim -
Well, GW complains about a lot things lol. They are hyper vigilant and sometime they go a little too far. They complained about the use of "Space Marine" and they have lost ( the term was around much before they use for their "Grimdark Space Saga") I once read, and with a little search on the web we should find more info ( for those who are curious ) they complained about a company that they claimed "copied" a undeveloped concept GW put in a one of their book. It was not even the same, they just argued on few anatomical similarities between the two "alien creatures". They are also know for shutting down blogs that just mention them, they have a peculiar policy on "derivative works" etc. I'm not attacking GW lol. I have been a Warhammer 40K player for decades and I always "defended" GW when people "attacked" them due to prices etc but they made several marketing disasters in the last couple of years. I guess I'm wandering a little too much Back to the more relevant matter: I think the fact Hasbro has a license regarding action figures shouldn't be a problem for Lego. Both have a Star Wars license and everyone makes their own toys
-
For large companies the risk of being "dragged into court" is always considered according to the potential profits. In other words if they think they can make a lot of money, companies usually "take the chance". I think TLG didn't do that because they believe the "risks" outnumber the "benefits" and so they deduced to avoid any potential problem
-
I just received the order with my two Wookiee Gunships and the Republic Gunship Microfighter, alongside few other non SW sets ( a DC Comics one, two Sand Baseplates etc) I got the Micro Gunship mostly for the Clone Pilot I have still to decide what to do with Micro Gunship itself: build them or keep those pieces as "spare parts"
