  1. I really like the "brick-built" sail You increased the size and make the design more "realistic". Great job, indeed
  2. Great job Every time I see Egyptian tombs I think about Stargate lol Btw back to topic I really like the abundance of details (the items, the chests, the floor etc) The "symbol" built with bricks is very nice and with a nice choice of colors. Keep up the good job
  3. I found it more interesting than anticipated too Also the price you mentioned is indeed too good to not buy it. I wish I had such discounts here
  4. I do look for duplicates of certain Minifigures Goblin, Alien and Galaxy Trooper. Currently I have 5, 6 and 3 of them
  5. I'd buy it too. Currently the only "Japanese-style" official building is the Ninjago temple so a proper Japanese castle would be very appreciated
  6. It is strange indeed. Well some persons are very strange They did that for just few parts. Like I said there are strange persons in this world Very cool. I didn't have the first cyclops. I have been away from Lego world for a long period and so I missed many things. The cyclops "headgear" looks good on the Goblin Btw, I noticed you are Italian too. I'm often in hurry so I noticed just few seconds ago
  7. That's weird and I can imagine how you felt. It shouldn't be easy to cover the trace of "theft of parts". Did you give a look a the bag to see if there were signs of such actions? Personally I'd inform the staff about that, just in case EDIT: Typos corrected.
  8. That's very interesting. Like I thought, brainstorming and sharing what we know always lead to interesting things. I'll write down what I found and compare the results then. I have 4 more bags I took from another box, though and I don't remember which they were but I should have taken pics in the order I opened them, so I should be able to identify the ones that were not in the sealed box
  9. It sounds a very nice mod. If you have the chance you could post some pic. I'm sure it will be a success
  10. Even if we don't consider the Wizard's staff a weapon (which personally I think it's a weapon ) he is still another interesting addition to Fantasy collections. I think I can easily display a "covenant of wizards": I have to count them again but I should have 5 or 6 of them I'll try it asap. I'm getting very curious: the Hot Dog Cyclops
  11. It's stunning indeed. I read the author said it is 120K pieces so the whole project is unlikely to be approved. However I fear 120K or 750 pieces would be the same since they don't seem interested in making other LOTR/ The Hobbit sets. Anyway we can still hope. It does not hurt, after all
  12. So they are not randomly packed. That's interesting. Regarding the "opened boxes": I de facto bought a whole box myself. They got only one box (more arrived later). If I'm not mistaken a box contains 60 bags. Is it correct?
  13. Indeed. Samurai and two Katanas, Egyptian warrior with sword and shield, Goblin with the sword from Middle Earth Orcs, the King with a nice golden long/great sword and the fencer (whose sword can be useful indeed for fantasy and historic scenarios) Anything from ancient Egypt to Eastern history, from Fantasy realms to medieval Europe has something useful to find in this series. Let's not forget it's a good series for Sci-Fi Lego fans too. Both the Alien and Galaxy trooper are nice Minifigure with army building capabilities. Long story short: I really like Series 13
  14. It's not me lol. I'm not on ebay :) I live in Italy so everything shipping from USA has prohibitive shipping costs and taxes as well. I noticed there were few interesting thing on ebay from Italian stores/users. We are not very lucky when it comes to the collecting world No Lego user groups in my area. It's not a very large city, after all. Photoshop would be a nice idea if making a comic or video but I wanted a real fantasy army. I'm a collector, after all. I know it is getting difficult getting Fantasy Minifigures so I thought "I can grab those last sets and make something out of them before they are sold out" So I could even had some scenery instead of making Minifigures "act" on a white screen or spending a lot of time editing photos to add a proper background
  15. Good luck with your search for the Samurai If you have no interest in the other Minifigures you can indeed save a lot of money buying only the one you want from some store. I'm thinking to do the same for the Goblin and the Alien ( just to have more of them in case I decide to build an army with them)
  16. I did, I checked at local stores but no trace of those sets on clearance, sadly. I recently found the Goblin King battle with a 15€ discount. Not a lot but since it is set long sold out I got it
  17. I thought AntiMatter base would have been sized like the current Agents HQ but who cares? In the end if the set it's cool, I won't complain. I'm really liking UA sets
  18. Indeed an impressive MOC but even I doubt TLG could ever turn it into a set. Even as "UCS" equivalent it would have prohibitive costs. Needless to say as MOC it is truly beautiful but I doubt TLG could make a set based on it. EDIT: Just read the author says the MOC has 120K pieces! Even at the lowest cost per brick in history it would have a prohibitive production and selling cost. They would never sell enough of them to cover production cost. At 0,08 (insert any currency here) which is quite low for a licensed set it would cost 9600 (insert currency here). €, $ or £ does not make a huge difference: it won't be easy to sell it.
  19. Thank you very much for the advice I was a bit unclear in my original post (it happens when I multi task too mach things ) The project was "double folded": I wanted to build a fantasy army (or armies) for the sake of army building and then use the scenery for Brick comics I completely agree with you: when making a Brick Comic or a Brickfilm few Minifigures are better. Details are indeed lost when the army is larger the "spectacularity" is then determined by the sheer number of Minifigures. So in the end, you are saying it won't be a waste a money to acquire those sets before they are sold out, since I can still get nice results Thanks again for the advice
  20. The proof is "statistics science". Since they are randomly packed in one packs we can find more "Minifigure A" then "B" and in another pack more "B" than "A" You ask proof but you don't provide any of them a part "those I opened". Beside every series has different Minifigures so how can the chances to get a given one be the same in any series. Unless we are talking about different, things I'm not saying the date you quote are wrong. Of course I didn't say it. I was just intrigued because unless they intentionally follow a given scheme during packing, which could be I don't deny the existence of what I didn't know (I'm aware it may look strange in this world lol), any box randomly packed will likely differ in its content from others. This is what science says. Unless, like I said, they intentionally want to keep a certain ratio in every pack. That would change everything, of course, and would make the packs less random. Like I said I was intrigued. Then I realize you don't find my original post interesting lol No problem: we don't have to like everything we read
  21. Thanks for info. I guessed the Minifigures price is about to increase after the fate of LOTR and The Hobbit themes have been sealed. The Mirkwood set also comes with a Warg that should increase the value. As for the budget: it is de facto the cost of the sets I mentioned. I know what you mean about the army I also have a Clone Army of about 170 units and it still looks small lol Sadly Battle Packs exist only in the Star Wars universe. The advantage of getting the full set instead of only Minifigure is we get some scenery. It may not be useful to anyone but since I want to make Brick Comics they may have a role
  22. Epic! Truly Epic! It's undeniable it can be defined horde I don't want to start the debate too but I want to say I agree on her torso. They should have used a female torso. Btw, there is nothing wrong in lipstick and warriors lol. I have a very special friend who wears costumes for work (she is a model) and she has lipstick even in the warrior attire lol without looking weird Just a little joke to prevent the debate to start again till the end of time lol
  23. Thank you for your reply. Regarding scenery: I plan to do Bricks Comics in many settings, Fantasy included. I noticed Lonely Mountain and the Goblin King Battle scenery can be used even outside fantasy context without problems The flesh colored headpieces are not a problem to me. I wanted to build a Middle Earth army (or armies) and that was the reason I though about LOTR instead of the old Lego fantasy themes Sadly I missed a lot sets during my absence and I don't know if the sets still available would allow me to make that "army building project" a nice one. That was my dilemma. Thank you again for your reply
  24. Hello fellow AFOL, I'd really an advice from the experts of Lego Middle Earth regarding a project I wanted to start. I've been away from Lego world for a very long time and so I missed many sets released during the years. From LORT/ The Hobbit themes I have Orthanc, Lonely Mountain, The Witch King Battle and the Goblin King Battle. I was thinking about getting The Hobbit sets still available ( 1 of each Dol Gur Battle, Battle of Five Armies, Attack on Lake Town and 3 Mirkwood Elf Army) My plan was to acquire some scenery for my Brick Comics and create some Fantasy Lego army (which I always desired to build) However I realized with those sets I won't get a lot of "units" (For example the Elves should be about 16 and the Orcs about 19 included 5 Series 13 Goblins I already own) In the end it does not look very spectacular as army and it's likely I won't be able to get more sets before they go out of production. So I was wondering if it is worth the "investment" or if I should use that money for some fresh new project. Your insight about those sets and the theme could really help me. Sorry if my question looks strange lol but before buying all those sets I'd really like to know if they could be a good "investment" for my project or if I'm going to spend money and get that project only "half complete". Thank you very much for your help and time
  25. Very interesting and thanks for the info What details did you add to yours?
