Castle and Pirate themes remind me of my childhood too. I think I'll never be able to build such wonderful Castle armies like those I see in this topic. Well, at least my Clone Army is strong enough but that's another story

Thanks for the info Personally I think Minifigures are building toys not action figures. However, once more , the same thing would still apply to Star Wars battle packs. I understand someone is saying TLG group can't make a CMF series due to that issue but I think Minifigures are indeed a completely different thing than action figures. I mean you have to "build" them so they are "building toys", just my 2 cents, of course

I think that set could really improve the variety ( not just torsos but even hats, legs pieces and it also provides horses ) I don't remember if it was that series. I was born in 1985 so I was very young. It looks a very cool Space Western. I'll give a more detailed look to see if it was exactly the one I was thinking about

That's interesting. I wonder if they are "testing" the new printing run or if they are keeping to make a little mess with the sticker lol. Seriously I though it wouldn't have been so difficult for them to correct the typo. It's rather annoying they failed the "quality control" before release ( not to so difficult to notice the typo) but at least I hope they would have been a bit quicker in fixing the problem. I think we can only hope

Thank you very much I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and I love fantasy/Sci-Fi themes ( like in Stargate ) Honestly I thought about doing a hybrid Sci-Fi fantasy but since I nearly always do Sci-Fi and fantasy settings I decided to make a traditional one. The Sheriffs will be back in several other projects. Now that I think about "Space Sheriffs" I remember when I was a kid a sort of "toy franchising" about a Sheriff in a futurist context. It was a quite "raw" example of "Space Western": just western dressed characters and some high tech. I didn't own any of those toys but I remember I once got a notebook with images from the franchise. I can't remember the name but I still have those memories I see you just joined: welcome to the community. It's a wonderful place for any AFOL

Perhaps I missed something but why the "Hasbro license" should be a problem? I mean Hasbro has a Star Wars license too but that does not prevent Lego from making Star Wars sets. Like I said, it's possible I missed something

Thank you very much for your words. Reading such comments really motivates me. I'm glad you like it I suddenly remembered of that set and I thought it could be a nice way to expand this little project and add some variety. The set is also an "affordable" one and each comes with 2 "Sheriff" Minifigures and a horse: not bad Once the headpieces have been replaced they should look nice Sheriff Minifigures. I know I'll get some redundant Emmet Minifigure and a lot of Robot heads but the latter can be easily used for other projects

I got an idea! What do you think about using The Lego Movie set 70800 to add some variety to the "Sheriff Corps"? The grey "hands" can represent gloves and the robot headpieces can be replaced with "human" ones. What do you think? The set also give us a horse (which I'm lacking after I lost my old Castle sets) It has a reasonable cost and could be easily bought multiple times. Not huge investment, still available and with nice options. Just an idea I had

I just placed an order on Lego shop and I bought two Wookiee Gunships. I know it is considered a bad set by many. It's overpriced but Wookiees Minifigures are somehow rare and Wookiee vehicles even rarer, so I decided to give it a try for a little project of mine

Great one I wish I had so many "spare" pieces for projects like that but sadly I have always to work with rather limited resources. The effect of have been away from the hobby for a long period, I guess but I'm working on improving as fast as possible

Two more Jar Jar comics for you all "Justice will be served" The justice SW fans are waiting since 1999 "Even undeads hate him" Can we blame them? "How to make a Galactic Rebellion" Rule number 1: Never, ever trust vital information to... hem Jar Jar's "flatulating" rear lol Anyway, sometimes transporter "malfunctions" can be quite useful indeed

The AT-AP is a wonderful set and with a rare "cost per brick" for a Star Wars set. I'm thinking about buying another one

Thank you very much. If you are willing to "borrow" parts from other Minifigures in your collection you can achieve even more diversity Duplicates are inevitable and so I decided to make a use of them, instead of letting them unused in some box I'm glad you liked it. I have other of these "ideas" regarding army building from Series 13 and several of them are indeed related to historic themes

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They have still Series 12. Interesting. It should be sold out, so they must have found some old stock. Btw Series 13 seems to sell very fast. Consider it went backorder on Lego Shop (at least here in Europe) after just few days -
Well my intention was to use ONLY Series 13 parts for the reasons I mentioned above (I didn't resist and used the old Imperial Guards Admiral headpiece, though) As for the Lone Ranger sets: I don't have those sets and I can't find them at a reasonable cost. Honestly I don't want to spend 50/60€ for 5 Western Minifigures The mustache turned backwards was made just for fun then I saw it looked bad but not that bad lol so I kept it. This was just a little idea, turned into a project with limited resources, just to make something curious and to show we can use those duplicates we got in our bags

So I think they are waiting the current sticker stock to run out before printing the correct one. A bit annoying but let's hope in a quick solution of this issue

Thanks for your words I know Wild West is not very popular, even I never thought to do projects in that setting but when I got those 8 Sheriffs from my two Series 13 boxes I decided to make something "useful" out of them As for the improvements: due to the lack of popularity and available parts the options are very limited, unless I make a Western/Sci-Fi hybrid (which is not a bad idea) and use some futuristic weapons and equipment I also wanted to prove how Series 13 is great for army building. This is just "part 1" A part the obvious choices (Goblin, Galaxy and Alien Trooper) even a Minifigure like the Sheriff can offer good army building capabilities. I considered the idea to chance the leg pieces (I wanted to keep the torso for the badge, of course) but that printed holster is an amazing detail and beside the "uniform" part can be interesting. After all in this case, they are a "Corps" not a group of "lone wolves". I can make some other customization. I do plan to do it and compare the results. Series 13 is indeed a great series for army building. I made the "Sheriff Corps" in less than 20 minutes. Even with few resources and time this series gives us many army building capabilities

Life in the Wild Brick West is not easy and keeping order is even more difficult. It's not like in Lego City where a couple of megaphones and torchlights are enough to warrant the law to prevail. In the Wild Brick West if you want to protect honest citizens from brick bandits, stud robbers and outlaw Minifigures you need… The Sheriff Brick Corps This is a very small army, actually it's more a "unit" than an army but since it's rare to see the Wild West setting in the Lego universe I decided to share this little project with you Also, I don't know if this is the right place. I know there is a topic about Castle armies but nothing about Wild West "armies" so I decided to post a new topic. Anyway let me know what you think about this project. Comments are always welcome

I totally agree! We are here to share our hobby not to show off we have more Minifigures than others Even a very small army can be interesting and also a chance to create a story about it, to share "anecdotes" on its build, to make some nice photo (even some photo editing like a "fancy" background etc). It's our hobby and we are all here to have fun and relax. That's what hobbies are for, after all

There may a lot of "parts" that can be used for fantasy armies but currently, and I highlight currently, the only fantasy sets available are those from LOTR/ The Hobbit themes and the undertone 2013 Castle. Sure if you had the older sets or if you're willing to pay the prices asked for buying those sets right now you do have a lots of parts but if you look at the current "stock" sets (not everyone is willing to pay 100€ for a 150 pieces set ) Fantasy is indeed lacking a wide range of "available options"
-
Of course imagination play a very important role The "collecting" aspect is a little different but we know a collector will never be satisfied with a given number, you know what I mean EDIT: I always thought, and still think, about getting the Mirkwood set, mostly for the Minifigures, but I wonder if it would be a wise choice or I if I should use that money for something else
-
I thought it wouldn't be so difficult for TLG to be "aware" of it. I mean all they have to do is to look at the sticker and awareness would come on its own Being able to fix the problem soon it's another story, though but I hope they were at least "aware" of that problem
-
One of the problems with "massive armies" is in the end it may appear just "bragging". There is always a good amount of "pride" when we show our collections and that's not a bad thing but when we show thousands of "stock" Minifigures it may seem we are just "bragging". I prefer a little variety, so smaller armies with some details and, why not, a story to tell In the case there is more than just "show off" how many Minifigures we can buy
-
I know "army building" requires a lot resources and not only a lot of money but also a lot of space. Beside it can be quite repetitive. You can customize your Minifigures but in the end it's a monotonous build. That's why even I don't have the desire to build very large scale armies. I prefer to add some variety to my collection and building activities
