Where did you get all those flesh heads? I see they come from different themes including a Vitruvius from The Lego Movie

I agree with you on the "real life group of people". I'm a bit unsure about the "not real military stuff" policy for the reasons above (i.e. Star Wars etc ) but I agree on the "real persons" matter

Well I did the same choice regarding the balance between Lego sets and Valentine's gift. I could have bought a lot (and I say truly a lot) of sets with the cost of that gift but making someone special happy is priceless, after all

REVIEW: 70728 Battle for Ninjago City
BrickSev replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wonderful review and thank you for sharing it with us. I always thought about getting set but then other projects took the precedence but after reading your review I decided this set will be my "to buy soon list" -
Political Correctness Policy may indeed limit this potential theme a lot. It's the same policy that prevents modern military vehicles to be produced (see for example Lego Ideas rules). I understand they may want to limit the "references" to violent events but they have the license for Star Wars which is about a Galaxy-wide and not so nice conflict with a lot of casualties and persons cut into pieces by Lightsabers (not very peaceful encounters) and DC Comics which content, well, it's not always "family friendly". Anyway they have their policies and I respect them

LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter - Chewy's 1st Review!
BrickSev replied to Chewybricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just a quick comment on the 4K camera (I'll watch your video entirely as soon as I find few moments. Very frantic day for me today ) It is indeed a huge investment and it depends on what you plan to do with your channel. If you want to make it your job than it may be worth the investment (even though I know persons who made a lot of money on youtube with much less quality cameras) but if it's just for hobby (even if you monetize) then I'd suggest to use that money to buy Lego sets It also depends on the number of views. If you got millions view than you may cover the cost sooner. That's my opinion but if you really want the 4K camera because you like to make videos for hobby or work, then do what you like most. That's always the best choice -
From time to time TLG puts some Western Minifigure in the CMF series but apparently it's not a theme they are willing to invest a lot on. It's possible they will make anew Western theme but for sure it won't be any time soon (namely this year), unless I missed some rumor/info I've been always curious about a Wild West in Lego so I made a little project with the Sheriffs from Series 13, since I got eight of them I thought it would have been a nice chance to do something Wild West related

That's the hard part I would have one of the greatest Lego armies in the world if I focused only on a single project but since the reason I spend money for a hobby is to relax and have fun, variety is important to me. So I move from one project to another otherwise I get bored

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Indeed Personally I see nothing special in that Minifigure but it seems the demand is high so it's reasonable in a couple of years they will very sought after collectables. It's also possible the interest for them fades away as other Minifigures take its place, though. "Market" is strange -
You don't consider the technological aspect, training etc. A Navy Seal Team is worth more than regiment of less trained soldiers. This is a topic about Castle armies, posted in the Historic themes forum. There are plenty of places on the net where you can complain about the "low quality of Star Wars movies" I don't want to limit freedom of speech lol but if we start to go too much off topic we would ruin the usefulness of this topic which is not about Star Wars

It's a bit off topic but its was 3 millions in the first stages then the Senate voted the creation of 5 more millions. Assuming more Clones were created to sustain losses the Grand Army of the Republic was about 8 millions units strong. Just one note ( I don't want to act like a mini-mod lol but then I suggest to go back to topic ) They have a good aim. Imperial Stormtroopers are the ones who can never hit their target In any context (even in a Galaxy wide conflict) 8 millions plus all the related "hardware" is indeed a very huge army.

The misadventures of the Clumsy Creature continue "Burn Jar Jar!" Aka "How a dragon can win the favor of Sci-Fi fans" That's for sure a very good way to keep troopers' morale high

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They are indeed very popular. Personally I'm not a huge fan of them but it seems the ones I got will be a very rare collectible in the years to come, at least if their popularity does not decrease -
Well actually the Clones are about 8 millions and they are the same at birth. Different experiences may alter look. Scars, tattoos, even life style, stress can have a certain impact on look. Beside, I was talking about weapons and armor customization

Even though those "forecasts" may be, or may look, unrealistic they can't harm They are just hoping, making speculations and have some fun during the process so all is fine
-
How many do you consider too many? I bought seven of them and for me they fall under the "it's not enough" category lol Btw it's really a great Battle Pack. I'll acquire more of them as soon as I complete the current project I'm working on

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was just thinking about the same thing I don't have a lot of dwarves (just those from LOTR Goblin King battle and those from The Hobbit Lonely Mountain) but since few of them have no beard my plan was to give them the King's one -
I really like when Minifigures have "character" and not just "buy and paste" lol (you know what I mean ) clones of the same Minifigure. I always try to customize a bit even Star Wars Clone Troopers, who are clones by definition You achieved a great level of "uniqueness" with your band/group of warriors and that's a very good thing indeed

No Jar Jar photos this time (I'll post few of them very soon ) but I made some editing on two photos of 75082 TIE Advanced Prototype featuring Space background images from NASA (they are not copyrighted and free to use according to NASA policy) Space action for Tie Advanced Prototype Let me know what you think That's a great one. I really like the MOC as well and there is Padmè too. Considered the Clumsy Creature's luck I wouldn't be surprised if he destroyed by accident the whole enemy army as he retreated lol Anyway, great work

Speculations apart I truly hope we'll get a new Fantasy them soon. A "non licensed" them would have have great potential: no franchising limitations and, hopefully, a lower cost. Personally I'd like a Fantasy theme more than just a "Castle" one but at this point anything is well accepted. Fingers crossed
-
I really like it "Armies" don't necessarily have to be hundred Minifigures strong to be impressive. You made a great job in creating this group of fighters. Each of them is unique with pieces coming from several different sets. They have character. Great job

I know. One of my first "large" Star Wars sets. Sadly it has been partially disassembled but I have all piece so one day it will return to its ancient glory How much did you pay it? If I'm not indiscreet. I'm curious to see how much its cost increased during the years. It was the first ever UCS: it's a "piece" of Lego Star Wars story. Enjoy your new set, Happy Building and May the Brick be with You

I finally built the first of my three Wookiee Gunships and it is very nice. Considered all the negative reviews it was a "gambling" to buy so many of them but I'm glad I trusted my instinct: it is indeed a nice set. The cost per brick is high but the Prototype Advanced Tie's one is higher and nobody complains I saw it is backorder again. Good luck: I hope you'll get your Slave I soon. I noticed more often than not they ship backorder sets before the expected date, sometimes even within few days from the order, so hopefully you'll get it "in a somewhat timely fashion"

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13 Rumours and Discussion
BrickSev replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The capes are a bit "problematic" to put on but the look it's indeed worth it. I noticed he looks better without the beard. The headpiece has detailed printing and the beard covers most of it. If he had different clothes/armor I would have used that Minifigure as a "Fantasy hero". However I like the "classic" look and I'm sure I'll find a way to use the duplicates -
Impressive! There are so many details and interesting techniques. Congratulations
