I'm hoping for this ship and the black pearl redone. I've decided to pass on the existing black pearl in hopes that it gets another official run. I could be wrong, but it just seems like it's a MUST do. Also considering the real LACK of pirate ships lego has released in the last few years, something BIG must be coming. I mean honestly how many pirate ships has Lego released in the last 4 or 5 years? 2? And that's counting the sea cow, and that's not a REAL pirate ship. It just FEELS like Lego owes us pirate fans some new ships.

Here is my video review for the Pirates of the Caribbean set Queen Anne's Revenge. The only things missing from this review are the box and the majority of the minifigs. The ship is 100% complete though. Enjoy.

I decided to try something a little different, so instead of picture, I made a video. I posted this in the Historic thread as well, since I mix both pirates and castle. But here are my forces.

So I decided to try something a little different, and made a video of my army. I will be posting this on the Pirate thread as well since I mix the two. But anyways, here are my forces.

Video Review- Lego Palace Cinema
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Town
I plan on getting some fire and police sets for sure, once I really start my city. I'm just not to worried about them at the moment, it seems like lego makes a new one every year. -
Video Review- Lego Palace Cinema
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Town
I have just begun my Lego city, I only have a few sets so far. So I have LOTS of work to do on that. Luckily for me, space isn't really an issue, yet lol. My main priority at the moment is completing my pirate/castle/lotr world that I am creating. Still have LOTS to do on that one as well, but it's actually getting pretty full. So I won't be focusing on the city until I get that one a little more complete. I just didn't want to miss out on a few sets (tower bridge, Palace cinema, pet shop, GB HQ) before they retire. So that's why I've been snagging up those ones, even though they are not my focus at this time. I know the GB HQ is a new set, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has a shorter shelf life, especially given Lego's recent history. So if that's a set you really want, I would get it within this calader year, because I would not be shocked if it's gone by 2017. -
Video Review- Lego Palace Cinema
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Town
I hear ya. My buy order is pretty much the same as yours, except I need to get the Pet Shop next. I also already have the GB HQ (which is an awesome set btw). Better than even the modulars IMO. -
Video Review- Lego Palace Cinema
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks. I am kinda kicking myself for getting this set BEFORE I bought the pet shop. I didn't think double VIP points would have such an effect on the stock, because when I was ready to buy the pet shop, it was no longer available. I really went back and fourth in which one to get first, and went with this one because it looks cooler imo. I still hope to get the pet shop before that retires as well. Hopefully... -

Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
Captain Pirate Man replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
@MAB, I realize that as long as people are willing to pay ridiculous prices for certain sets, than yes technically speaking they are "worth it." I just meant from a practical point of view, I can't EVER rationalize spending $1000 or so on any individual set. That's why I have given up on ever owning certain sets, unless they come down in price. Which they won't as long as people keep buying them for that price. But as you said supply and demand dictates it. But the thing is, it's not a HUGE market for these over priced sets. Logic would say eventually the market will dry up for them, especially since hoarders have such a large percentage of the sets. So once those sets are not selling very much anymore, if people want to make money, they will have to sell them off at a lower price. So the moral of the story is, if you want those high priced sets (like I do) waiting a few, or even ten years, will probably be the best (and cheapest)way to get them. -
Do you want the Lego collectible bubble to burst?
Captain Pirate Man replied to Gomek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't want the bubble to burst, but I would like to see it plateau. In my perfect world, sets would be worth (used) what you payed for them new, or 10% or so more. But these craziness where sets go for high hundreds or thousands is just ridiculous. I have given up on ever getting some of the modulars, Imperial Flagship, Eiffel tower, and the statue of liberty because they are not worth the prices they go for. I would pay $250-300 or so for the IFS, but this $500-1000 stuff is for the birds. -
Medieval Village 10193 - still worth it?
Captain Pirate Man replied to LudeBene's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I recently bought the Kingdoms Joust set and MMV. I haven't actually received MMV yet, it's still in transit. But I have assembled the Joust, and others have said, it is a very nice set, and VERY near retail prices as we speak. MMV is a little more expensive, but if you ever want to create a villiage or town of yesteryear, it is a MUST. Honestly compared to sets like TIF, it is still pretty reasonably priced. I got mine for $170 including shipping, brand new in box. What was the price originally? $140-150? -
What's your latest acquisition?
Captain Pirate Man replied to Konrade's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've got the Kigndoms (red) castle in it's way, medieval market villiage, and Velma deep all on the way. As well as the ship I mentioned in the pirate thread. -

Ghostbusters 2016 Reboot discussion
Captain Pirate Man replied to Kaanere's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm not going to sit here and say it looks like the worst movie ever made, or anything like that. But I will say it looks like a serious drop in quality, even over Ghostbusters 2. Which that brings me to one of the biggest reasons why, no Harold Ramis. He was a very gifted, and under appreciated writer. He is the man that brought realism and integrity to Dan Aykroyds original Ghostbusters script. Without Harold, the first movie would not of been NEAR the success it became. Yes it was Dan's original idea, and a great one to his credit, but it was Harold that put the idea in reality, and added humor to it that was believable. "You forget Peter, I witnessed an under sea mass sponge migration. Ray, the sponges migrated about a foot and half." "Do you have any hobbies? I collect spores, molds, and fungus." Those are examples of simple little dialogue character exchanges that establish who these characters are. They are short, quick, funny, and allow the viewer to peak into the minds of the characters. They are what Ramis did brilliantly. We forget he was the writer of not only Ghostbusters, but also Groundhog Day, Animal House, Stripes, and Caddyshack. Based on these tarilers, the writing does indeed feel cheap, forced, and uninspired compared to the work of Harold Ramis. I'm sorry, it just does. That is another reason (amoungst a handful) why this movie does not deserve to be called Ghostbusters.- 248 replies

Ghostbusters 2016 Reboot discussion
Captain Pirate Man replied to Kaanere's topic in Culture & Multimedia
No not really, not if the writing is good. Did someone have to say Egon or doc Brown from BTTF were "such and such smart guys"? No. You knew they were smart because of how the characters presented themselves. Which is great writing and great acting. I completely agree, show me don't tell me.- 248 replies
