I've been really wondering what tricks, or techniques are used to accomplish this? I'm assuming they are attached in some manner, but I haven't been able to figure out how some of you do this. I've seen them used a lot in MOCS and in videos on YouTube. I've tried to search this site for answers, but have not been successful. Can someone please give me a detailed description of how this is accomplished? Thanks

Lego S@H question
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is The Tower Bridge set, which is officially "hard to find". But hopefully you guys are right. -
Yesterday, (Friday), I made an order through the S@H website. It immediately told me my products were "In Warehouse". Now U wouldn't normally be concerned, but I've read through some of the problems others have had with this site. So my question is, is this normal and why hasn't anything changes since I made the order about 10 AM yesterday? I realize that it being Friday, perhaps they will wait til Monday to make any changes. But I've heard people have been stuck in this "limbo" for MONTHS. Also, it said my VIP points will take "up to 24" hours to change. Well it's been more than 24 hours and still no change. Am I just being over eager, or could this be an issue?

I just now saw this, thanks for your comments. That blue coat ship looks pretty good, are you happy with it? I like the octopus on your black pearl btw. What did you do with the masts? Pull out the kragle like I did?

Question??? How many big grey baseplates do you have in this picture? 4? -
Christmas 2014 was when I officially got out of my dark ages. 2015 I did my best, but honestly my reasources were quite limited. But I still managed to get The Lonely mountain, an unexpected journey, goblin king set, the entire 2013 castle line (including 4 gatehouse raids), all of the 2015 pirates line (except for the ship), 2 POTC sets (London escape and the mill) half of the midevil market village (1 of the buildings), black monarchs castle, and Forestmen hideout. Again, I got all of these since Christmas 2014, and in limited means (of sorts). I just used every free dollar (that my wife would allow

Buying Pirate LEGO - where to buy, advice, tips and questions
Captain Pirate Man replied to Mr. Smee's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't personally own either, but from what I gather its 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Meaning both are nice, but both have flaws. QAR looks nicer of the two, but has a small Captains Quarters. BP is a little more bare overall, but has the nicer quarters. Can't go wrong either way IMO, just which ever floats your boat.- 502 replies

Video Review- Black Monarchs Castle #6085
Captain Pirate Man replied to Captain Pirate Man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I've uploaded my most recent video in HD, hopefully that helps solve the problem. -
Yes I just bought The trading post today. I had it as a kid, and it's been on my "must have" list since I woke up our of my dark ages. So ya, I'm super excited for it. Next up will be Eldorado, then I will have all 3 of the pirate themed raised base plate sets. As for the original Imperial Flagship, I don't mean to sound derogatory, because it is a nice little ship. But as far as the officially released ships go, IMO the Imperial Flagship and the Caribbean Clipper are the worst two. (that might be a stretch, but they are worse than the BSB, SES, TBB, BBB, BP, and QAR). Which stinks, because they are Imperial Vessels and we don't get those very often. Originally I had both on my "must have" list, but recently decided to remove them. Buying Brickbeards Bounty helped me make that decision. Which of you watch my review on that set, I go into detail on my thought process. I just decided to turn my BSB into a blue coat ship, get The Brick Bounty and turn that into a Red Coat ship, and have BBB be a pirate ship. Ideally I would get two of the BIG Imperial Flagships, and keep one as red, and turn the other blue. But I can't afford to do that, so this was my back up plan. I just don't feel that the Original Imperial Flagship and The Caribbean Clipper present a big enough threat compared to the size of the Pirate Ships. I wanted ships that could really compete with them, and the official sets just don't measure up imo. Now at some point in the future I may decide to get them, just because I do like them. They have just been removed from my "must have" list for now, but that may change in a year or so.

Ya I used to have the original Imperial Flagship, it is a nice little ship. I personally decided against getting it again, mainly because it's a little bare. In the end, I decided to get newer bigger ships, and recommision them as Imperial Vessels. On an unrelated topic, I just bought The Imperial Trading Post today, super excited about getting that in the mail.

[Investigation] Who is the Captain Ironhook?

Interesting read -
I feel good about my decision. I should have BBB by the end of the week. I've pretty much decided to reconfigure both ships to become either a blue coat or red coat vessel. I will wait until after I have TBB to decide which faction gets which ship. But given the dark red pieces on BBB, I am leaning towards making it a Red Coat ship, because I wouldn't have to modify it a ton. Even though, I do prefer the blue coats, they may end up getting the lesser of the two ships because I don't mind replacing the generic red on TBB at all.

I say this as a MASSIVE fan of the original 2 films, but I do believe that this reboot film is going to kill the Ghostbusters franchise. Not that it's been alive and well to begin with, but I do think this new film will flop, and seal the fate of the franchise. As a result, given the hefty price tag of the firehouse set to begin with, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not a "best seller". As a result, 20 years from now, it could potentially be a rarer set imo, which would only drive UP the price. I don't expect it to be worth thousands of dollars, but perhaps double or even triple face value now. That's my 2 cents.
