  1. It's the same situation over here in Germany. Grindelwald's Escape is pretty much the only Harry Potter set that always seems to be in stock at the local shops, because people aren't even buying it when it's marked down to 24.99€. Newt's Suitcase is a much better deal even at MSRP. I really want that Seraphina Picquery figure, though. Love that sand blue hat.
  2. The quality of those prints looks great. Where did you get them? Are those prints durable? I built Destiny's Bounty last weekend and thought to myself that I would really like to get the pieces printed instead of applying the included stickers.
  3. 3.5 years old is too young. I wouldn't worry about him not being able to control your trains at that age. Get him something without a motor that he can push along and then get him the new passenger train when he is at least 5 years old. Since you don't own any of the PF stuff yet, it's better to just wait a few more weeks for the release of the new Powered Up system anyway.
  4. Just tell the sceptics that it calms you down after a stressful day at work. When talking to a female, you may want to add that it's healtier than drinking five bottles of beer every night.
  5. Get 5 mm LEDs just like the one that were used in 7860, sand the lip off and cut the legs as short as possible. Leave no more than 1 mm. Drill out the "+" sections of a 1x3 thin technic liftarm. Make the holes big enough so that 5 mm LEDs barely fit in there. Insert your 3 LEDs into the 1x3 liftarm. Use as little glue as possible. If any. Wire up the LEDs using thin enamel coated wire. Remove the marked sections (see picture) of a 1x3 tile and drill a hole that's barely big enough for the enamel coated wires to pass through. Glue the 1x3 liftarm with your LEDs to the 1x3 tile. After routing the wires through the hole, of course. Use as little glue as possible. Glue the 1x3 tile with the attached liftarm onto the top of an antenna that has the newer style flat top. Carefully glue the wires to the back of the antenna, if you want it to look nice. Hollow out a 2x2 or 2x3 or brick. Drill a hole in one side that's barely big enough to pass the enamel coated wires through. Put a tiny PCB inside the brick that connects the enamel coated wires to some sort of micro JST connector. Depending on how many wires are needed. Or just solder the wires to the connector. Cut a hole for the JST connector in the opposing side of the brick. Use needle files. Edit: If you want it to have that shroud, then take a piece of cardboard or thin plastic, cut it to size, paint it black and glue it onto the liftarm. No 3D printer needed. Actually, you can use a "Hose, Rigid 3mm D." instead of the antenna. That way the wires can be completely hidden, if you are willing to drill two holes through the green 4x4 plate. In that case you only need something like a 2x2 45° slope to house the JST connector.
  6. It's the most overrated, overhyped and overpriced set that LEGO has released in a very long time. So no, I won't be buying this set. However, I could see myself getting the Pirate Rollercoaster at the right price.
  7. The game was released two years ago. 2019 is way too late. Meh, I don't care about the IP anyway.
  8. That's about the controllers. They're letting potential customers know, that they can't use the new remote with the old IR based system or vice versa. All we can do is hope for an adapter or maybe a possible mod (swapping out the cable) that allows us to use our old motors with the new PF2 stuff. I wonder why they don't just show us the new PF2 parts and connectors. The Chinese know what those bits look like anyway. There's no point in hiding it from us any longer.
  9. Case in point: The LOLercoaster.
  10. ... and dark green, dark brown, reddish brown as well as light and dark grey. I'd also take some in dark tan, please. Of course the other colours would be welcome, too. I also wanted those window glas pieces in trans black as well as a few more in trans clear. Without train windows, putting train doors in all the other current sets feels like a massive slap in the face. Just like the little polybag train that was leaked a few days ago. Must have went like this: "You've been asking for a new creator train for 4 years? Here, choke on that." Well, at least the black train wheels may drop in price for a few weeks. I'm sure it's our last chance to stock up on those. I also fully expect them to ask for at least 129€.
  11. As long as you don't have to store boxes full of 4.5V Train/Basic motors. I think I have close to 20 of those and never really used any of them.
  12. Oh, "not pleasing". If your highness would be kind enough to check the prices for large train wheels: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=85489b&ColorID=11 For the price of just 6 of those wheels you could get a complete Lepin knock off of the Emerald Night. Shipped. I personally didn't enjoy spending more than 60€ on two complete sets of those wheels on Bricklink. Those three are some of the worst LEGO trains ever. I was in my teens but not yet an adult when they released 4559. A cousin who was too young when the Metroliner was released ended up getting 4559 as a christmas gift. I hated that train and even he wasn't happy with it since he had already played with my Metroliner and 7735 at that point. Neither of us were AFOLs at the time.
  13. Has to be similar to the old Playmobil wagons:
  14. If you are willing to pay 329€ for this set, then don't complain when next years modular building will be 249€ instead of 149€. You've been warned.
  15. God bless America. Here's another good example.
  16. I doubt many little kids have enough money to really care about any of those figures. Whenever I'm in the toy isle of one of our larger stores I pay attention to what the little kids gravitate to. It's not the blind bags, that's for sure. Most kids seem to prefer the way Playmobil are selling the two packs of their special figures on blister cards. Two figures for 4.99€, btw. And with those you know exactly what you're buying. LEGO blind bags are 3.99€ each. The more I think about it the more I feel that those blind bags are just as bad as "loot boxes" in modern video games. You don't know what you're getting and they want you to keep buying those bags until you may get what you want. Wasn't quite as bad when they were 1.99€ each and you could scan the code on the bag instead of completely ruining it by trying to feel what's in it. Why can't they sell the complete set in a box similar to 60134 ? What makes the fireworks guy more "fun" than a police officer? The prints on the fireworks guy are bad. The colours aren't anything special and the design is much simpler than the older rocket guy. He's not on the same level as the elephant girl, the girl in the flower pot, the cowboy, the brick figures or the cake guy. Not even close.
  17. I'd buy some of those, if they weren't 4€ blind bags. However, that Fireworks guy has to be amongst the worst CMF ever. Could have easily left that one out and included a few more police officers instead.
  18. Did you read the terms and conditions? You violated them and thus I reported your post. Playmobil's collectors club was shut down because of people who couldn't keep their mouths shut. Was that clear enough?
  19. Keep in mind that buying large amounts of bricks can cost you a ton of money. Your collection of parts with grow over time, so start with small projects and work your way up. Also, you will need to figure out how and where you want to store all of this stuff.
  20. I like the modulars as they are. In my opinion, the interior details are part of the experience. If you don't like them, then feel free to sell them in order to regain some money for a second set and use those pieces for making a bigger building. Not really a fan of the XXL mods myself. My first modular was the Grand Emporium and I really like to display that building without the first floor.
  21. I too would have liked a classic knight instead of that Pixel figure. I also would have preferred a miniature of this one instead of the figure that is supposed to represent the year 2010. 1989? Goes to show how much they know about their own history. Sad, really.
  22. That sounds a lot more realistic. I'll wait for a decent discount, though. I'll have to see the parts list before making a decision, anyway. 189€ = Creator Expert Diner + 40€ that I could spend on PF2 spares Looks as if the Diner has more than twice as many parts as the train that is supposed to be 40€ more expensive.
  23. Of course it would be fair to state that. Anything else would be a lie. A Raspberry PI Zero W has a MSRP of $10. That is a complete mini computer that has BT built in. By putting the receiver in the battery box they don't have to produce the shell for the old IR receiver anymore, need less wires, need less connectors and less screws. It'll be easier to assemble and save them packaging, shipping, storage and handling costs, too. That battery box will be in many sets over the next 10 years, so making that one new mould will pay off qickly. I feel that asking 249€ for the new cargo train would be the final nail in the coffin for the trains theme. Especially when parents remember seeing 60052 with a price tag of 139€.
