I think I prefer the monkey version over the minifigures. Great build thigh and a good idea for a factory.- 22 replies

The Battle for the Grand Duchy of Prio
SilentWolf replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The deployments must be picked by Sunday the 29th at midnight anywhere in the world. They are submitted to Ska by PM. -
Last month, Garvey boldly sailed out fleets of privateers and several set upon Corrington vessels. Admiral Mercedes' fleet had a run in with several of the Corrington vessels. This resulted in the capture of the Garvey vessel, Hunter, by the HMS Pandora. Being badly damaged in the battle the Pandora was sent for repairs and refitting of guns. Now as the month comes to a close she is sailing out of port with the HMS Bagg of Bolton to defend merchants against all such pirate and privateer attacks. HMS Hunter is commanded by the newly commissioned, Captain David Townsend. Previous Stories

[COR - FB] Captured Ship, HMS Bagg of Bolton
SilentWolf posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Corrington warship, HMS Bull Shark, captured the pirate vessel, Bagg of Bolton, during last month's merchant runs. Due to the losses the empire suffered, Her Majesty has commissioned that some of the captures be refitted with all haste in order to defend the merchant fleets from the pirate scourge infesting the seas. The WETEC aided in outfitting several ships. HMS Bagg of Bolton was one such ship. Due to the need for haste, the ship was left with the cannons it was captured with even though the vessel would have been better fitted with smaller guns. Captain Bryon Belton was given command of the ship and assigned a suitable crew to man the ship and its guns. HMS Bagg of Bolton sailed out of harbor for the first time with the HMS Hunter which was also a captured ship. Previous builds -
The WETEC's largest ship the Golden Filly, while sailing its maiden journey, was set on by a fierce pirate named Gregory Decker. Fortunately, the Lady Jacqueline was able to attack Gregory Decker and seize some of his fleet. However, she was unable to rescue the Golden Filly and her crew. Gregory Decker furious over his losses wished to gain as much money as he could. He set up an auction for the Golden Filly, and sent a letter of ransom to WETEC for the crew who were still alive. They were waiting on a secluded island for a reply from their middleman. There is quite a lot of wildlife on this island. Previous stories.

[COR - FB] Selling captured ship, Blind Jack
SilentWolf posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Captain William Chase had taken command of the HMS Whisper at the end of March with the mission of protecting the merchants sailing under the Corrington flag. The HMS Whisper's first month at sea was rather uneventful. However, during its second month it ran across some pirates attempting to seize merchant vessels. The Blind Jack attacked the Dancing Dogfish but Captain Chase brought his warship to bear and forced the pirates surrender. With the prize in tow, he sadly discovered that one of the other merchant flotillas had not been as fortunate. He was able to rescue some of the survivors of the ships, HMS Otter, The Morning Rose, and the Nightingale. Captain Chase was almost taken captive when a Garvey Privateer seized the vessel unexpectedly. However, the merchant vessel Belson came to the aid and was able to save him from the disgrace of losing his vessel to privateers. Back in port the Wolf's Equine, Trade, and Expedition Company, had to decide what to do with the newly captured Blind Jack. The loss of their long waited Golden Filly on her maiden journey had been a financial blow to the company. They decided to put the Blind Jack up for sale in order to raise funds for the various ventures presently underway. Fortunately, a good buyer, Captain Genaro, was found and a price negotiated. Micah is waiting for his arrival with the negotiated payment. Captain Genaro received a deed of ownership. He could then present it at the docks upon which he would be able to take command of the Blind Jack and deliver it wherever he desired. Previous Stories -
[ESL-FB3] Market house on the village green
SilentWolf replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is a lovely marketplace. Great job at giving another great twist on the common marketplace of the Era. I like the details and the individual shops. I also want to praise the roof technique and coloring. Where is that ox from? -
[COR - May FB2] Penal Quarry and Brickworks

I like this build and the details. The sail shade is well done and the layers in the rock are also well done. The vegetation is also really done. -

[COR-FB] Jim&Bob's Excellent Pig Meat
SilentWolf replied to Puvel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is a great build! The pigs hanging on ice are awesome, and I like the usage of the sausages for the cut meat. Though I am not sure what good a broom is going to do in a butcher shop. I like the colors used. It definitely gives a vibrancy to this build. -
A fine example of Oleander fortifications
SilentWolf replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm not anecessarily expert on rockwork but I do really like the way this one turned out. The slope is well done. The top looks very much like I should expect a fortification to be. I see the entrance below but don't see where it comes out on the top level. Did I miss it?- 13 replies

Great build! I particularly like the roof on this build. Also the interior is well dove and I am glad you included staircases. The door fits a little odd but I'm sure that was just an issue with available arches. Other than that small point I really like this build.

[COR - FB] "Golden Filly" 5F Schooner
SilentWolf replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Do you have any suggestions for a good source on masts and rigging: books or websites? I often google the ships I am trying to build to get an idea but as seems obvious in this build, it sometimes gives poor information. -
Thank you for complementing the walls. I was trying to improve on my previous attempt at panel siding. I do think this turned out much better and it also enabled me to avoid the issue with not having enough white bricks with the front facing attachment to put the siding on. I agree that the dock would have looked much better tiled. However, it shall have to be as it is until I can buy brown tiles as I only have a couple in brown. That is on my list as the next thing to buy from bricklink. In addition to improving the wall of a paneled house I wanted it to avoid being completely white. The color definitely aided that and the windows created a more dynamic wall. Thank you very much. I hadn't even thought about the fact that brick would seem too established until you mentioned it. I shall have to pay attention to that in future builds. Thank you! Yes, that is my custom flag. It is the official flag of Wolf's Equine Trading and Expedition Company (WETEC). I have to keep bouncing it around between builds as I only have one so far and the ships also like flying it. Thank you! Thank you! I was trying to avoid a planting the flag on the beach scene since others have beaten me to that. I knew I couldn't sail my ships into dock so I decided to opt for a tendering dock instead. I am glad every likes the way it turned out. The flagpole was a fun change. I normally go with the normal Lego pole, but I wanted something a little more realistic to a flagpole where the flag is lowered and raised. I definitely enjoyed using so many minifigures. They all had something to do so I felt I didn't over use them, but I was trying to think up ways to include more. I love the Lego cows and regret not having gotten more when they first came out. I hope they do more builds with them in the future so I can acquire more. I don't think the monkey really fits into this build. Though you should watch for my upcoming build as it includes a few monkeys.

[COR - FB] Trading with the Whole Village
SilentWolf replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Someone commented on my original Longhouse with a historical link regarding how a village was set up and it fired the concept in my mind. Though when LDD kept crashing I was starting to rethink all the effort I had put into that village. In the end I think it turned out a reasonable representative of a real village per the historical drawings. The tanning of the hides turned out really well in my opinion. Each one seems in a different state of preparedness. The children and their activities created a lively aspect to the build. I noticed it was getting boring with the adult activities so the children really added a lot in my opinion. I also wanted to try and show a lot of activities. Well obviously that other one was my best Lego build and this is my best LDD build. I will take them both! I took your advice from the Chief's Longhouse and aimed for the dynamic poses. It took a while to figure out in LDD but one I did it went pretty well and became one of the more enjoyable parts. In my research I found drawings of two different styles of fencing. The one as shown here is more of a fortress style, while this one was designed with small trees stuck upright. I went with the poles in order to create the correct size per minifigure scale. It would have been nice if I could have gotten them closer together but that was not possible in Lego. I also had to remove some in order to complete the fence since LDD was crashing each time I tried to add another pole. I should have had only one entrance into the palisade, but I went with two to both help the build need less poles and to keep a consistency with the first build I had made. Thanks everyone for the critique and compliments!- 12 replies

I had a question for discussion. What would be considered the best category to license an onshore fishing MOC as? I think it could fit vaguely into several categories so I was curious what others might have already done or what others thought.

Thank you for the suggestion Maxim. I was just planning on closing this before the end of the month and it seems the ship index takes a little longer. Bregir, let us begin the 24 hour period and I will call it off if anyone reaches out in regard to it. -

I would like the court to offer as a prize the ship I acquired through right of capture by HMS Whisper. The ship being condemned as a prize is the 3A Blind Jack. -

This thread encompasses all builds within Elizabethville and on the Corrington claimed island of Lacryma. Name: Elizabethville Ownership: Crown Location: Lacryma Mayor: Tom Mercer (SilentWolf) Trade Value: See account sheet Who can own property in Elizabethville: Anyone Who can freebuild in Elizabethville: Anyone Map: To be released someday About the settlement of Elizabethville: Elizabethville is founded on the island of Lacryma which was discovered by Micah and the other members of the WETEC while searching for new islands to the East. They found there a friendly local tribe, and were informed that the island had many other tribes as well. The partners founded a horse ranch in the area near there discovery of a cave. This was the beginning of the settlement that is growing as new settlers arrive from all parts of Corrington and the brickworld. The geography of Lacryma is mostly pedestrian looking plains with plenty of trees scattered about along with a few small forests. There is no great harbor on the island, but several places to anchor a ship safely. Backstory During the three months that Sergeant Anthony Bolton and his platoon of militia have been on the island they have been working on preparing the land for a new settlement. The WETEC partners had chosen a good location to found the new settlement and promised to send some settlers and more supplies to the area. Sergeant Bolton and his men were responsible for building some residences in the area as well as a dock for small boats. Since there are no great harbors on the island, all the ships have to anchor out and tender supplies and people in. Thus the dock needed was suitable for small vessels and rowboats. Today, May 20, 616, the Alexander has pulled into harbor with the first true settlers to the island straight from Wolfhaven. The Flying Colt was believed to be only a few days behind with more settlers from Belson. Among the ones arriving today was the family of Oliver Sudworth who is a widower. He formerly raised cattle on land he was renting in Wolfhaven. He has come to this new settlement so that he might have his own land for his own cattle. He is accompanied by his children. The eldest, Craig, is married to a redhead named Bridget. The second born is his daughter, Laurel. The youngest son is named Gabriel. Along with the settlers and supplies, the Alexander also brings word that Her Majesty has given an official charter to WETEC to found a settlement on this island that shall henceforth be called Lacryma. The WETEC has written up a charter for the settlement including rules of government and naming it, Elizabethville. (The company had settled on this name since two of the partners had the name among there heritage, and Micah of course finds it the best name for everything.)
