  1. I am quite aware that it was the wrong person to include monkey's but the storyline was so on target I figured someone was borrowing your ideas.
  2. After a build I did for Brethern of the Brick Seas with a large number of soldiers, I decided to set up and photograph the rest of my imperial armies. They are not as impressive as some armies seen on here, but it was fun to assemble them nonetheless. I did not repeat any pieces for the series of photos, which is why the Bluecoats didn't get any cavalry. Enjoy! Redcoat Mounted Units and Marines Redcoat Foot Soldiers Bluecoats Other Views and Closeups in the Spoiler:
  3. I like this story though I was expecting some monkeys to be involved eventually. A talking parrot is much more believable though. I better check that all my Lego parrots are locked up.
  4. Great job on the action scenes! You did really well on the posing. It definitely makes the battle come to life.
  5. I'm glad the water wheel was redone. Excellent build with several nice details. The already cut log is a nice touch. The cut board color is great. I like the way you did the roof, simple but effective. The wheel is definitely the best part here though. The sluice, retaining wall, and wheel all look well done.
  6. Her Majesty, Queen Annetta, upon consultation with the brave explorers, adventurers, and entrepreneurs of the empire has decided to claim for Corrington the islands previously marked 15 and 19 on the maps of the cartographers. The names of Cascadia and Garma's Key may be references for some, but Her Majesty desires for the islands to be explored more prior to permanent names being bestowed upon them. The rumors hold that the sea rats will soon be choosing some islands for themselves.
  7. The book concept was inspired by a fairy tale build I had seen on Eurobricks, though with a lot of alterations for my own needs. I didn't want to use only yellow for the corn as it is a bit unrealistic so I hoped the mixed colors would aid a more realistic approach. I am glad the plow could be an inspiration for the future. I do have one dairy cow, but that is the end of my cow herd which is the most under-used animal Lego has IMO. I bought these right after they were first introduced and I wish now I had bought more as they are A LOT more expensive now. You are correct that the hat is from the CMF. It is the Mexican with the guitar. In American history, there was a lot of crossover between the Mexican vaqueros and the American Cowboy so the hat seemed quite in place for the Texas theme. Definitely is a huge hat though. Thank you very much for the compliments!
  8. Excellent job on the night shots. I know those are hard to pull off. Seems like an easy haul though. Almost too easy.
  9. Nice job on doing challenge b with full size ships. The junk is definitely an interesting design and color. From the ships I saw while googling, I think the bow needs a little more curvature though the height is well done. Nice technique giving the slope to the sterns of both ships. It is nice to see more non European ships in BOBS.
  10. Great entry with lots of humor. I shall have a reference to your builds when I complete my entry. The buildings make a great water front. I am always fond of Lego animals so I appreciate the CMF dog and the monkey is a classic. Is the brown tricorn custom don't to have the white trim?
  11. This is a great little cottage. It definitely matches Stormhaven and the swampsurrounding it. I like the usage of the palm branches over the door and the boardwalk is well done. I also like the inclusion of the new CMF dog.
  12. There are a lot of great features in this build. First off, the story was fun and well written. Secondly, that map looked really cool and realistic to what you might see in the time period. (Sea serpent inclusion was a great touch.) The loose lips poster was excellent and a nice replication of the war propaganda during the Great Wars. Also, I was impressed with how you got it all to fit into the required dimensions. The sewers look so realistic in all the details until we have a bunch of clones. They look up to no good indeed.
  13. Pinto Filly (5F) was in Thunderrun part of the Bravo flotilla. As Gedren_y said, Don Obello (5LA) was in the Brick Seas Purge with his ship and Puvel's Clearance.
  14. Being late to the party again all I can do is echo the others that this is a great courtroom and the stained class is impressive. Great installment to the story! Glad to see a vile pirate brought to an end. Also good choice on that banana rum. I would vote to find out how well Brickinson can swim. Looking forward to all future installments.
  15. This is a superb design. It really captures the church well. It is by far the best modern Lego church I have seen. The choir loft is amazing, and I love how the cross turned out. You also did an excellent job on the balcony. Great piece usage to break the monotony of white brick walls. Keep up the great work!
  16. This is an excellent tutorial. Even without having pieces right here in was able to follow what you were song and how it was working. I love the technique and the result looks amazing. I shall have to price lots of Droid arms and axes...
  17. This is a great MOC. Very realistic looking and the power functions are amazing. I'm just getting into power functions so I'm getting inspired by what can be done.
  18. Welcome to BOBS, Zaael! Even if you did pick that faction with the dangerous order. This is a great introduction of David and I look forward to following his quest of love.
  19. Yes, please. Thank you for the answers and help.
  20. Thank you, Garmadon. I was trying to improve on the executive desk, though it definitely turned out huge. In regard to the siding being too modern, are you referencing the clapboard siding outside, or the wood paneling inside? Before I finished the ground and locked the pages in place, they would swing back and forth. I made them the same size as the pages that you see that are built in. So I think making them longer would make it look less accurate. Bringing the front back to the pages might work out. I will look at it more when I get it back at the end of October. Thank you! I was wanting to portray the different parts of history, without doing multiple builds. I had considered doing quadrants, but the book idea seemed to be a cooler concept. Here are a couple different views. I won't be getting the book portion of the build back until the end of October, as it won first place in the adult Lego category. It is the first time, I have presented my Legos anywhere outside of EB, so it is exciting to win something. (Though the Texas state fair is definitely not a Lego convention.) I hope to get some other pictures once I get it back, particularly one of the overall but angling from the cabin side. .
  21. I needed some scouts and knew that we already have some in Corrington. I thought about doing the sniper uniforms, but decided on the less formal Wolf clan torso. I sadly ran out of saddles so I had to stop making cavalry. I need to convince my wife that I need more. :) Thank you for the compliments on the monument. Thank you. The indigenous troops were a great addition and pretty realistic at least from an early American battlefield perspective. I am glad you liked the artillery carriages. Thank you. I am going to try to get pictures of the rest of my troops as foot soldiers to post in the pirate forum soon.
  22. Thank you! I figured that since I had no idea what I was going to get, making young guys the prospectors helped explain the difference between this build and the actual results.
  23. I am not an expert on sailing vessels and the proper designs. Thus, I can skip attempting to analyze that and move right to saying that the technique used on this hull is fabulous! The coloring also turned out very well. I like the placement of the rowboat. It is an often overlooked or skipped part of Lego vessels. Also I enjoyed the crew introductions and look forward to future stories.
  24. Another twist to the story! Well this is shaping up to allow the animals to take over the world. Banana wine? Shouldn't it be banana rum?
  25. This is a fun series of stories to follow. It keeps us in anticipation of the next installment. The animals are of course the best part of this build and that silver monkey looks awesome!
