  1. Thank you! I got the idea for the fenced fencing from the movie, A Knights Tale. Though I think their fighting area was larger than 12x12 studs plus the audience so I had to shrink the area. I am glad the fences turned out well - this was my first attempt with black for the fence instead of brown. I know the sword is still valuable but the BOBS era is seeing the loss of armor and increase of pistols and muskets so I felt the armored sword and shield fights made a good historic idea even if recent history. Thank you for the comments on the posing. That was definitely the focus of this build.
  2. Thank you for the compliments. The clear plates seemed like the perfect idea for a juggler. If only they were invisible! Lego should work on making those. The white teeth seemed great though I feel I need two more to balance it. I will see if I can fix that before Octoberfest ends. I hope to see more Octoberfest entries soon!
  3. Thank you. I'm glad you like the MOC. I'm especially glad the furniture is getting recognition as it is fun to build. Thank you! I did attempt to mimic the style that you had started with for the residence which inspired me to do the balcony. The ability to use the brick bricks helped keep with Mooreton Bay's style. (Founding a brick quarry was a smart idea.) This build sadly has been done just waiting for me to write it up and post it. I'm glad it is getting appreciation now that I got around to getting it posted. I have been trying to avoid the flaw of having no color variation in my builds so the window and door was intentional. The picket fence was a fun addition and I'm glad others agree it adds to the build. Thank you! The piano is one of my favorite pieces. It stays assembled ready to be used whenever it fits a build. (Though this is its 3rd variation as I continually attempt to improve it.) I'm glad the present style is working. I am trying out new ideas as I see things from all of you. The inspiration of other builds in BOBS has been its greatest benefit for me: new ideas and concepts to try on new buildings and ships.
  4. I like this scene. The vegetation is really great and the turning colors on the tree are great. I like the story so far, but look forward to the continuation of the story. Curious minds want to know why that pirate is dead! Look forward to learning more.
  5. Thank you! In regard to the roof, it was an attempt at a different style. It needs some work for it to be viable. I am contemplating doing a tall false facade in future roofs using that style.
  6. The WETEC has been expanding into the new islands. Part of the plan was to place offices and stables in strategic locations in order to expedite the delivery of horses to the new settlements. Elizabethville has begun to be the supplier of the horses in the new islands, but some are still being shipped from Belson and Arlinsport. The newest "office" the WETEC has been founded in Mooreton Bay. Though presently the "office" is simply a room in the residence of the manager, Mr. James Palmer. He and his wife are settling into their new home and responsibilities. They already have orders for 5 farm horses that they will soon be sending to Arlinsport for. They hope to receive more so they can get ahead of the needs on the island. This is intended to be a small residence in Mooreton Bay.
  7. Juggling for Party Goers - an Octoberfest build The Art of Swordfighting - an Octoberfest Build
  8. Octoberfest is a great opportunity to undust skills and sports that have faded with time. Sword and shield fighting is not a skill used anymore in war, but there are those who still have it mastered. Octoberfest allows them the opportunity to compete once again.

  10. A juggler has been busy entertaining the attendees at Octoberfest in Weelond. The attendees come dressed in all sorts of historical outfits, though some of the folks are less inclined to participate in history and just come in their normal clothes. After refreshments, the juggler increased the danger of his act.

  12. Previous Builds: Concerns in the Ministries In the Dark of Night Lighting up the Diplomatic Furnace The Corrington and Oleon Diplomats were weary from several days travel. They decided to stop in at this inn in the Juniper Province for a nights rest before continuing on to Granoleon. The innkeeper looked out the window of the Blue Rooster Inn, and saw that a carriage had pulled up in front. Two gentleman got out and headed toward the door. Oleon Diplomat: "We will take a room for the night, a meal, and some wine for the evening. Our coach driver is putting up the horses in your lean-to as your boy suggested." Corrington Diplomat: "Some rum for myself." Innkeeper: "Certainly sirs. I have some very good rum and some mugs right here. I am sorry I don't have any good wine in stock. Darlene, dear, run and tell your mother to get some supper for three gentlemen. Then go make sure their beds are freshened up." As she hurried away, he said, "My daughter will have your room made up in no time. There are two beds per room so your driver can either sleep on the floor or down here by the fireplace. You are lucky that it is so quiet around here. A few weeks ago you would not have found an empty room. The soldiers coming or going on leave or official business took up most of my rooms. It is so quiet here now that they are gone." Corrington Diplomat: "So the soldiers have left this area?" Innkeeper: Yes, and my business is way down since then. Though we still have the traveler stopping by on trips. Men like yourself of course. We are after all the best inn of Juniper province. I have heard rumors that if the King traveled through Juniper province he would wish to stay right here at the Blue Rooster Inn." Oleon Diplomat: " Is that a fact?" Innkeeper: "Well it's what I heard AND we are the best inn around. Why else would fine gentlemen like yourself be staying here?" Oleon Diplomat: "You do have a point." Innkeeper: "If you fellows need to exit quickly tonight, I recommend going through the windows near the stairs. They lead out on to the roof above the horses, and... Corrington Diplomat: "Do we look like the kind of men who need to exit through windows!!?" Innkeeper: "Well you never know these days. Just last week I had a guy jump out the bedroom window while trying to escape a furious husband. It took me a week to get that cobblestone clean! Annndd he didn't leave behind any money to pay for the broken window. You just never can tell the kind of people around these days. Oh here comes your driver. Would you like some more rum?" 13. I shall echo the above. You did really well pulling off the action of the fire trail. Plus the island in flames looks great. The barge is well done. I'll take one! The multiple uses also makes it a great vessel no matter the need.
  14. This is a great carriage and as noted the minifigures are well done. As a night scene this turned out very well.
  15. I like how this turned out. The carriage is nicely done as is the palace. The story is of course great!
  16. I agree on those two. What should we name Garma's Key? Crabbia? Krabbe? Something else since I'm not the best at this naming thing. I know Latin for crab (cancer) isn't quite what we are looking for.
  17. The coconut tree and coconut catcher are both awesome. This is a nice fort idea, but I will share the concerns that the foundation looks weak.
  18. I am fine of this rafter roof design, but I'm confused as to its use. The fussy time we saw it in thought it was an outdoor seating area for a tavern but this time you are using it for an interior room. If I misinterpreted the last build with this technique, my apologies. Based on my perception this works better as an exterior than an interior.
  19. The banana clusters and trees are the best part of this build, but I also really like the roof technique. Great explanation on the inclusion of the goats. Glad to see MOCs from you again.
  20. The silver monkeys are involved! How diabolical! This is such a great build and as I said on Kai's half I love the minifigure placement and the foliage. Great story and I look forward to the results (with scrutiny and concern.) At the least, no Corries were harmed in the process of making these MOCs.
  21. Great result! Love the humor we include in these reports.
  22. This is a beautiful build. The vegetation is great. The classic castle colored towers really add to the build and the overall color scheme. You did a great job with posing and photography (as you normally do.) "The WETEC though impartial to the politics of nations as long as there trade and exploration are not interrupted is wary of the goals of Eslandola. Their reasoning for an assault on Mardier seemed reasonable enough, though over reaching on new islands and in such new colonies. However, an assault on another of kingdoms without a declaration of war, causes great concern. Does Eslandola hope to seize all the nations and force everyone to submit to her trade companies? The WETEC looks upon this newest act as dangerous evidence in support of the idea that Eslandola is not acting in self defense but rather in an armed power grab. We shall be watching with weariness and readiness."
  23. Hopefully you don't eat Lego food as it might not be filling. I realized when I was posting I didn't have a good picture of the proprietors so I took one of them out front. I thought about taking away the chocolate knife and the coffee pot but in my rush didn't. This build does see some repeat characters. Jenkins, the school teacher, is present enjoying a conversation with some of the townsfolks. We also see the younger Sudworths enjoying coffee and chocolate. They showed up before when first arriving in Elizabethville and at the elections. Gabriel is still trying to impress the girls. Seems he is doing better than when he fell in the mud puddle. The soldiers are easy to help populate, but the others are an attempt at new people. Thank you! The terrace roof was a fun part of the build. I had to be careful to not use too many of the 1x2 dark browns though, as they were needed for chocolate bars. (Eating the roof, what are these minifigures up to?
