Welcome to Eurobricks, JohanS! Are you a collector, or do you make your own creations? I can tell you are interested in Technic. Are you interested in other themes as well? I am looking forward to seeing what you build!

Strange but interesting, Sheo! I like to see minifigures of all one color, as you have done in this build. The tree/table with the cross-sectional view is intriguing! Nice clock/sun! The color split across the build gives an interesting effect. Is there any explanation about this build, or did you intend for it to just be a work of art up to individual interpretation?

That is a beautiful ship, Maxim! The rigging and sails are really well done! The angled bricks for the tumblehome and the prefab hulls work together to make a realistic appearance within the limitations of the LEGO System. I also like the color scheme! How tedious are ratlines like this? That is an excellent name for an excellent ship within your BeLUG! That is list of builders that have definitely been an inspiration to me, including yourself!

The level of detail in this MOC is excellent, Legopard! The dark brown tile roof looks very interesting here, especially in contrast to the perfect color choice for the walls with tan and earth orange! The water technique works very well here. I like the small pier. That tree is very realistic with the irregular trunk and foliage angles! I really like how no part of this MOC is lacking in the slightest detail!

[MOC] Hercules and the Hydra of Lerna
Slegengr replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
So this is what was coming... Nice build, Bob! The landscaping and architecture are great! The stone path and white structure with the sand green roof are particularly good! I like your MOC border and photography border, as blackdeathgr mentioned. The hydra is very interesting. -
This is turning out great, kurigan! I like how smooth and curving your hull technique is. I am looking forward to the finished ship, both because it looks to be spectacular and because it will likely bring inspiration to my own ship-building efforts! One thing that bothers me is the visibility of the studs on the port-side of the deck. Could they be covered somehow, or could tiles be used to cover the studs? How does the deck edge appear on the stud-less starboard side? (In your pictures, this edge seems to always be hidden in shadow) That bent technic pole for the tiller!!! Of course, as you mentioned, LEGO ships of this type can be either inaccurate and purist or historically accurate and not completely purist.

Great market scene, Mark! The detailing here is excellent, as well as the activity in the scene! There are so many interesting techniques in this build, but one that stands out in particular is the ground level tan arch over doorways. I think I know how it is done, but could you explain or show how you did that? The market tent awnings are great, simple but very effective. The use of the Orient Expedition door tapestry and the Belleville awning tapestry are perfect for this scene. The palm tree design is very neat!

Storage - are the plastic Lego bags airtight?
Slegengr replied to PirateSi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I second this. Overall, I think attics tend to be good places to store things like LEGO pieces, as they tend to be much drier than basements. If you are really concerned, put the bags in a tub along with a desiccant to absorb moisture. The other thing I would check are the temperatures in the attic at the hottest period of the year. If the pieces get very hot, they may be affected. This is not likely an issue, but you probably want to put the pieces in the coolest location possible in the attic. -
That is a very realistic fox, Miro! The posing and parts usage is perfect! I like the texturing of the fur. The snow and weeds make a great backdrop to the fox. The positioning of the fox make it look so much like it is searching for some critter that has disappeared into the hole in the snow. I am definitely looking forward to more wildlife builds from you! The other builds on the flickr wildlife group are interesting as well, but I tend to prefer builds that do not just use bricks as pixels (in the style that LEGO uses for models for LEGOLand and the such-like). The style you used makes a more complex design and a much more realistic appearance!

Excellent build, damjan97PL! This tractor is amazingly realistic, both in appearance and in functionality! I am amazed that such a clean appearance could be achieved with technic parts while also making each attachment functional! It seems like farmers here in America would NEVER consider attaching a green or yellow implement to a red tractor, but farmers like that are just too stuck on a single brand for equipment! (though it does make purchasing parts simpler, as there may be only one company involved) I think it makes the MOC even more appealing with color variations between tractor and implements. Now make it RC, and you are all set for miniature farming!

This has a nice, clean, modern look, Heksu! The different plants and pots add a nice contrast to the straight lines and white/tan of the house. The art studio is nice with the different sculptures and the lamp design. I like how realistic your furniture designs are, especially the dinner table with the support boards set in from the legs under the table top! The rug design is also good with it being only about a stud's height above the floor. That certainly would be a lot of windows to wash!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Slegengr replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
@Tyndale Look at this Flickr Tutorial created by Pandora. This tutorial will explain how to post images to EB from Flickr, but does not explain how to create a Flickr account or upload images to Flickr. These items should be pretty self-explanatory if you go to the Flickr webpage and sign up to create an account. -

@Tyndale Yes, in the links I gave you should be information on posting the content in Eurobricks' Topics. For Flickr, you use the BBC code to generate a link to the image that also shows the image in the EB post. This is explained very well in the Flickr Tutorial, better than I can explain here. The image links will be added to the text in your EB post as text, but will show up as images when the topic is posted. You can type above, below, or next to images as you choose (the formatting may take some practice). If you want to make sure your post will show as you intend, use the "preview" option above each post as you type or edit (it looks like a piece of paper with a magnifying glass over it). This should allow you to toggle between viewing the post as the creator and viewing the post as it will show in the EB topic after posting. -

You will need to use an image hosting site separate from Eurobricks. General information can be found here. I personally use Flickr for my images, which offers 1 terabyte of storage free with a yahoo account. Explanation on using Flickr is here. You will need to use BBC code, which is explained in the tutorial. Some users use Brickshelf for image hosting. Use of Brickshelf is explained here and here. I do not have personal experience to help with Brickshelf. -

@Tyndale Welcome to the coolest guild! I am looking forward to your sigfig and story as well as your builds! -
Welcome to Eurobricks, modestolus! Your first build is a good one, and I have heard good things about your LUG! Do you mostly build in the castle theme, or do you spread out into many themes? I am looking forward to more builds! Have you checked out the Guilds of Historica yet here on Eurobricks? Your first build would fit well there, especially in the guild of Mitgardia!

Nice cabin, modestolus! The roof technique is nice, as are the walls and stone path. The landscaping is good as well, especially the use of a Galidor piece for the tree trunk! The ground would look better with a few more wedge plates and a little bit more elevation variation, but your efforts in this direction are already good. I am looking forward to more builds!

Welcome to Eurobricks, SirRicco! Are you a MOC builder, or do you mostly collect sets? I am looking forward to see what you build.

Welcome to Eurobricks, brunoctoday! What are your favorite LEGO themes? Are you a MOC builder, a collector, or from some other category?

Wow, I cannot believe I missed this connection after noticing Calvin, Hobbes, and Susie! I now like the snowmen even more, especially with the facial expressions!

[MOC] Hercules' 13th unspoken labour: the Jewel of Mycenae
Slegengr replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Looking forward to a future build! -
This is really cool, ME! I really like how you incorporated a modern fighter look with futuristic detailing! The color scheme is perfect for this (I especially like the olive green and earth orange elements). Forward-swept wings have always been appealing to me, and you realized them perfectly. The (VTOL propellers?) in the wings add an interesting element to the operations of the spacecraft. Allowing for movement on the tail fins is a great idea. I would like to see more space builds from you, but I do not want them to take away from your spectacular GoH builds!

Such a detailed MOC, kjm161! There are certainly more details than can be described, but here are a few in particular that I noticed: The hand-cranked phonograph is well designed. You used a lovely technique for knitting with the levers and kilt! The dark red brick with dark tan highlighting looks very nice and realistic. The Nexo shields work very well for roof shingles. I really like your lamp post and bridge design. The snow and ice make this a nice winter scene. All of the different family members are represented well with parts usage and different activities. Compasses make nice quilt patches. This MOC must have taken some time to complete, but the result is well worth it all! Thanks for sharing this build. Is that Calvin and Hobbes in the snowball fight?

[MOC] Spinning Gimbals
Slegengr replied to sheo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That is really amazing, Sheo! The engineering needed for the mechanics is intricately done! Combining separate rotations using interlinked transmissions and axles must have taken some thought to design. It never ceases to amaze me what can be done with LEGO pieces. I personally do not build much with Technic, but builders like yourself continue to astound me with the mechanics produced!- 34 replies
