Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Gongoro73 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think the scale is not right. Actually, FB and GG are almost the same height. And PS looks shorter in the picture. Is a little bit taller. -
Next year's logical move should be to design a train station. So, those of you who are dissapointed with the train may find that next year you'll have to purchase two sets in a row (or miss two sets in a row). I would buy it, just in case. You can always sell it later.
-
I don't get the complaints of a small/childish/toy look alike train. It's obvious to me that it was something cleary intended and sought after from the designer. Winter Village has that naive/cozy feel to it, and this train it's not a exception. You may like it or not, of course, but to expect a 'model' instead of a toy look it's completely unrrealistic. IMHO, it fits well with the rest of the Village.
-
I don't mind having a train, but I was expecting a new building. Two years in a row without new buildings for the village is too much.

My jaw is on the floor.

Wow!

Don't know if they will be so popular, I don't think so, but they are great sets, specially the Ferris Wheel.

It will be a huge disappointment if they don't release anything new this year.

What can I say? I love every bit of it, as the rest of your work. You're one of my favourite mocers out there. Fantastic, once again.

Yes, it is allowed. You can order 80 different pieces. And you can buy more than 80 (don't know exactly how many) of each different piece in your order. So you shouldn't have any problem with your purchase. Maybe the reason it's still in warehouse is that they're waiting for new stock.

I would take the route others have already suggested. Dark orange on the facade, and grey or other cheap color for the sides. I would not do it as stand alone, it's too boxy in my opinion, that building screams for shorter buildings to the sides. It's clearly a building that should be the flagship in the middle of a good big square, like the fantastic ones fellow members LegoSjaak or Serpico have built.

Yep, I built mine with masonry bricks and it looks good. I used the backwards of the brick (with the horizontal line) on the right part of the building and the mix of the two textures makes it looks even better IMHO. If someday Lego re-releases the groove bricks I guess I will swap them, but I like the way it looks with the masonry ones.

A question about 10234 Sydney Opera House
Gongoro73 replied to Gongoro73's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks, KlodsBrik! Yep, that's what I was looking for. I will check it out tomorrow. :) -
Hi, fellow members I have a question that I don't know if it can be answered: I have purchased via internet 10234 SOH from Toys'r'us. There was a one day offer with 40% off discount I couldn't refuse, so I bought it, although it's not among my favourite Lego releases. The thing is that it arrived today and it was re-sealed, so I am worry that maybe some bags could be missing. I'm not planning to build it (at least, not right now) so I would like to know If I can find any place to check how many bags are in total to make sure is all there. I know that some of you would suggest that I should return it, but at that price (190€) I'm not planning to do it. I called them today asking for a replacement box, but they haven't anyone left. Well, I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance!

Well, it's good, it's very good. Out of curiosity, how many 1x2 plates have you used on the front and back facade?
-
Beautiful examples of NY architecture. Oh, and Milton Glaser would be proud!
-
You did it again. One of the best MOCers out there. Congratulations, I love everything about these modulars. I bought the Kwik-E-Mart with the same purpose, now I have a guideline. :)

These are great. Love your work (and your modular tutorial).

Wow, I love it. That redish facade is beautiful. And the Filth sign is top noch. Great work.
