  1. Nice little house. It sure is red. I like the design, small, but nice details. Andy D
  2. Very nice. Reminds me of some of the older small self-serve stations here in be USA. You got the size of the building/office right and the angled roof is a great touch, just like I remember. The updated addition of solar is good as well. Good luck in he contest! Andy D
  3. This truck is quite accurate! When I saw the first picture I thought it must be quite large, it was omly when I saw it next to a MF that I realzed just how much detail you were able to achieve. I reanlly like the hood and cab of be truck, very realistic looking. Of course the trailer and lift gate are also fantastic, but you didn't stop there, cases, pallets, even a pallet jack/lift. Not the least is the great stickers/signage on the trailer. Andy D
  4. This is really very interesting. Do you have more details about the customization process you did to make he app behave as an LDD keyboard? Do yo find it easier than mouse and keyboard for LDD work? Good job, Andy D
  5. Very nice! I really like the circular stairway. Looks like it is goung to be a really nice, masive castle. Looking forward to seeing more as it progresses. Andy D
  6. Great job! I have a second HH still sitting in the box that I have been planning to do this with also. I really like what you have done, I was wondering when a modular HH would show up (is this the first on EB?) Andy D
  7. I think you may be right. It looks like the Death Star wins for largest size, most modular buildings (and other large boxes) seem to br about 19x23 inches but the Death Star is about 23.5 x 23 inches. That is one large box you received. Nice! Based on what I have found so far, I have come to a preliminary size for my unit. I want the inside storage dimensions for two enclosed shelved storage areas to be 26x22 inches (66.04x55.88 cm) with a shelf and two 13 inch (33.02 cm) storage areas. The total size of the custom credenza would be about 72x23 x 32 inches high (183x58 x 81 cm). Now all I have to do is find the cabinet/furniture maker to make this and a new table as a start for my studio. Now off to choose display shelving. I think I want modular shelving with rails that mount to walls so that the shelve arrangement can be reconfigured. Thanks for all the help. Andy D
  8. Am I missing something here? To what purpose do you wish to introduce LEGO to NK, from what I understand their economy is in such bad shape that people do not even have a standard of living, more like a day to day struggle to urvive. Andy D
  9. Very nice! The brick built castle gate is excellent, very heavy looking. Lots of textures, the jumper plates in the walls, the pathway, and the landscaping. Lots of thought and artistic elements and details. Andy D
  10. I wasn't really too interested in the Lone Ranger theme until I saw the Silver Mine Shootout and Constitution Train Chase. I guess I will just have to get them. The train is a type of train I would like to use for a Christmas display (modded to look more Christmasy of course) and the Silver Mine Shootout will be good to help me learn more about building rocky type landscape. Thanks GRogall! For the Hi rez photos. Where do you get them? You always seem to have new photos before anyone else, sometimes before LEGO does a press release. Awsome!! Andy D
  11. Vey nice rock work. Good texture and colors. I really like the opening so one can see the inside of he cave. Overall very nice. Andy D
  12. +1 for VBBN for a great transaction on minifigs. Thanks, Andy D
  13. Really nice compact modular. So much detail in so little space. I really like the glassed in (plasticed in) area in he back. Andy D
  14. I was really just trying to find out if anyone knew of a box larger than 19 x 23. I guess I put too much in my post. Thanks, Andy D
  15. As part of my get organized and build more motto for this year I have decided to chuck the furniture in my studio and have some more functional made. I want to have a credenza made for display and storage, and since I can make it any size to suit my needs I want to make sure that I can store the largest LEGO boxes. I have measured the larget boxes I have, a couple of modular buildings and the Haunted House box, they are about 19 x 23 inches. Is this a typical LEGO large box size? Thanks, Andy D
  16. This is amazing! So many details in such a large display. One thing that struck me immeditely was that because of the size of the display and be colors chosen, the photos of the overall display looks like a painting instead of a LEGO scene. Your close-up photos show all the wonderful details. Great work, thanks for sharing this with us... I look forward to your next. Andy D
  17. I seem to re-read a lot of this thread each time it gets bumped, (I'm glad it gets bumped) and I just thought I would share my CC build experience. I Bricklinked the CC a couple of yers go, back when a NIB cost about $400, not the ridiclous $1000 or more now. I built mine for between $250 and $300, I seem to remember somewhere around $275. I did not use any expensive parts, even back then the DB arch was a couple of dollars and I couldn't see that price as worth it for one part. The DR slopes were very scarce even back then, so I substituted just red in place of all the dark red pieces and it looks good. Every now and then I look at this thread, look at my slopes and think, "do I want to replace them for $50?". Well, the answer remains a resounding NO! Today you can get red slopes for $.05 and dark red for $1.50, hmmm, my red slopes look just fine. If you are not a purist, or are planning to try to sell a new CC, substitute some parts and outside of LEGO purists you will be the only one who will ever know. I don't know about any of you, but $50 is a good start on a new MOC. Just my $.02 Andy D
  18. That's really great! The only things you forgot are solar, wind and steam. Shouldn't the super secret hybrid include all possible forms of energy production, just in case... All kidding aside, fun build and story. Andy D
  19. I would like to add a +1 for mostlytechnic for a great transaction on 4 big Technic sets. Thanks Andy D
  20. Vincent Kessels, thanks for the suggestions, Kristel came to my rescue again with the removable wall idea, but I also like your one wall on hinges idea as well. I do plan to try something like a rmovable wall or hinged wall next building. Thanks, Not sure what other other techniques would work but the I didn't think of these 2 either. Andy D
  21. Exactly! When I looked at your design I was trying to figure out how you might accomlish the angled walls an I remembered the SNIR technique from The Advanced Builder's Guide pdf at: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/KimT/Mixed/Instructions/advbuilding.pdf I didn't' think about the hinge idea, not sure if I saw the demonstration. Is it still up? Looking forward to seeing the Mocca House in bricks. Andy D
  22. Hmm... Is this just for expensive parts in discontinued sets, or any discontinued set? If so that has me concerned. I have a whole bunch of set waiting to be assembled, most use mostly common parts, and if some sets are missing a number of parts like the Fire Brigde problem last year, that could be a problem for me. How about folks who buy a discontinued MISB? Looks like we could use a way to inventory a set we have but do not plan to assemble soon. Andy D
  23. Great MOC I had forgotten about this. Has there been anymore progress since Nov 2012? Andy D
  24. Welcome back! I am quite fond of your micro Emerald Night. It would look good next to my full size EN. Thanks for sharing these. Andy D
  25. Very good! Humorous take-off of BTTF, and the Smart Car makes an excellent choice for a time machine. Andy D
