Busted... Well, I can't build anything right now, because my studio will not be installed until next Thursday, so all I can do now is be here (EB) and dream of my next build. Never thought of using a Magic 8-ball (I don't have one). This is s close a I can get to a Magic 8-ball. Getting the new studio completed is a big, very big part of my get organized. EB will just have to be my Magic 8-ball <VBG> thanks, Andy D

Thanks for the suggestions, BTW, ot takes me about 6-8 hours over three days to build a typical modular, I do like to really look at what I am doing, I try to learn as much as I can with eah new build and taking my time is the way i can facilitate this. I appreciate all the replies so far, and the reasoning behind the suggestions, but I still haven't decided. Just when I find myself leaning in one direction, someone post something else which causes me to re-think. Call me "still undecided" Andy D

I really like it! So much so that I would really like to see a photo of the building not surounded by the other modulars. It really should be showcased. The idea of a costunme shop run by a fortune teller is very clever. I do agree that an attic window would look nice. Overall, very nice. Andy D

Welcome! Your admission looked like the intro to a twelve step program, how did you get it down to ten? I hope you enjoy the LEGOadiction. Andy D -
At this price-point, for me, it is a must buy, not for the set, but for the parts. Set is good if you like LOTR, but, well, just more parts to me. I will build and enjoy for awhile, then into he inventory. Just MHO YMMV, Andy D

Wow! Look at all the black! Any idea what color the brown is? Is it dark brown or?? Might buy this to build once, then... Parts. Don't hate me, I'm just always looking for parts. Andy D

This gives new meaning to the term "Top down". Did you do it for the challenge? Or? Wow! Thanks! But, I'm not sure how I would handle having four modulars open and in progress at the same time. Maybe I'm just not that advanced yet, one modular at a time. In fact this is rather freightening. Thanks for the replies so far... Andy D

Thanks for the replies. Yes, it is fun involved with the actual construction, the enjoyment involved with building the modular, not how it will be displayed. Thanks, anyone else? Andy D

My studio cabints, desk and shelves are supposed to be installed next. Now I am trying to decide which modular to build to inaugurate my studio. I have alredy decided that he first build will be a modular. I have in my inventory four (4) to choose from... The Fire Brigade, The Pet Shop, The Town Hall and The Palace Cinema. Of those four, which did you have the most fun building and why? Thanks, Andy D P. S. The Cafe Corner, Green Grocer and the Grand Emporium are built and waiting for a space on the shelves.

Looking good! I have high hopes that my new cabinetry, desk and shelves will be installed next week. Looks like we are on a similar schedule. Looking forward to photos of your space. Andy D -
If you do not need the money... Don't sell, you will just wind up buying it all back again. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D

Welcome to EB and welcome to be addiction that is modular buildings. It seems like everyone who collects the modulars (me too) will tell you the same thing... "Once you get one, you can't stop". If you do not already have a LEGO VIP account you should register or one, it's free and it essentially gives you a 5% discount on future purchases. Right now you can get the Fire Brigade for $150 through LEGO online and get free shipping. Enjoy your modular addiction! Andy D

I don't know about the LEGO stores in London. However about Legoland... Go! My wire and I go regularly to the one in Califonia, we have no youngsters, my son and his wife are 32 and sometimes we take them but I enjoy Legoland just for ideas and the very nice public park-like atmosphere. Go to Legoland, explore, have fun! Just MHO, YMMV (Your Milage My Vary) Andy D

Welcome to EB! That was quite an introduction! Very nice, but huge Classic Town. I can see you Castle influence here and there. But it big, so very big. Really takes commitment to use that much space. Andy D

Very nice. Lots of nice interior detail, and I really like the fire damaged exterior treatment. Andy D

I really like he tower, it is very interesting and has some neat techniques. Does it come apart into floor sections? As for the desk.... That is just how it is sometimes. It really gives an insight into the world of a LEGO builder, cheese crackers and all. Andy D

THis thread got kind of dead, but since I am working on my studio as well, I am interested in how things are progressing with your studio, maybe some ideas for me as well. Any additional photos of what you have done to it recently? Not too many ideas "on-list" wondering what you've decided to do? Good luck with your studio. Andy D -
This thread just keeps coming back. A good thing, as the info is very useful. Just this week, as part of my studio revamp, I have been thinking about a tabletop photo area that can be easily put up for use then easily taken apart to store. I found a web site and some very good YouTube videos. The site is: http://www.prophotolife.com/video-library/ and three of the YouTube videos I found particularly interesting are: http://youtu.be/-zARqGgHjNc http://youtu.be/mUJKqzlRtYo http://youtu.be/RMqmOQK6odM there are several other videos by Jim on the subject of lighting that I found useful. YouTube is just a treasure trove of information for tabletop techniques and lighting. Well, I hope the info about prophotolife helps someone else, and on YouTube, just search prophotolife and you will see many of his videos. Edit October 13, 2015: it looks like Jim took down his web site, and the majority of his videos. It seems that someone put some of his videos up on other channels, if you see a video by Jim or ProPhotoLife they were/are very good. I'm glad I archived several of his videos locally so I can refer to them. I don' know the legality of reposting YouTube videos on different channels, but if I can find out, maybe I will repost some if allowed. Andy D

Fantastic! So many details, I can't see or comment them all in one viewing, I will just have to return, but a couple of use things and comments... 1. What do the BURPs represent? 2. Overall design and decorating/theming terrific. 3. Air conditioning unit on the roof is great. 4. I may have to "borrow" some of your fountain idea, so if you see it and I forget to credit it, remember I am crediting in advance. I'll be back... Thanks for sharing this, Andy D

I put the LEGO store address as the closest place to my hometown as I am wiling to disclose. Just as a zoom-in on Ontario CA for my map location. Could you just add Ontario, CA and forget my (not as clever as I thought) LEGO store address? Andy D
