  1. Great LEGO rendition of the Marshmallow Man! All with standard parts. Andy D
  2. Very nice Wall-E! Lots of function. Too bad the video is blocked. Maybe you should redo it with different music. There is lots of music in the YouTube music library. Andy D
  3. There are some great MOC instructions, some cost, some free. I feel that if someone spends the time (no matter how long) they deserve to be compensated. As others have said, there are lots of free instructions on rebrickable, there are many, many free instructions on the LEGO site for some great models, with these instructions one can create some great models and MODs. Andy D
  4. I am a little more liberal in what I classify as color-vomit. I have yet to see an official set where I would scream. -- color-vomit -- Since my primary interest in LEGO is the building process, not displaying models or MOCs I have decided to try to build with only the parts I have on hand, trying to reduce expenses on Bricklink and because it will not be together long anyway, so color matching does not really matter. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D
  5. Very nice! One of the most clever small builds I have seen in a long time (if ever). I just may build this, it looks like a fun small build! Thanks, Andy D
  6. Did I miss the Eurobricks review for this set, and the BWE and the Volvo? Andy D
  7. Very nice! Great functions, so many functions for a super car. But the number 666 has another more sinister meaning. Look it up. Andy D
  8. Clive... I was just thinking about you the other day. I am glad you are back and building. You are doing quite a bit. I'm curious about a couple... How do you like the Go Cart? The. Looks like an interesting build, still sitting in my to be built pile. Keep on stacking those bricks! Andy D
  9. I was an adult when TOS was new, I thought it was the greatest thing to hit TV. Later the original ST move came out I was less than impressed by it. I took me awhile to warm up to TNG, but eventually i thought it was as good as TOS. I liked DS9 and STE, but I think Voyager was my favorite of the entire franchise. Now to the new movies... I have seen Into Darkness, but it didn't make an impression on me, good or bad. The other day I realized I had not seen the 2009 movie. I watched it a couple of days ago and I really liked it. I particularly liked the character development. What I don't like is all the long destruction scenes, I know the new generation of movie goers like this, but to me, a movie is about people, not special effects. Sometimes it seems to me that some movies use special effects as the primary focus of the movie and characters are secondary (this is why I don't like the new superhero movies). Overall the new Star Trek movies are very good, I just hope they don't get to where the special effects are the stars of the movies instead of the actors. I am going to go back and watch Into Darkness before I see beyond. I am looking forward to beyond. Just MHO, Andy D
  10. I was hoping people would be intrigued by the thread title, then read the first post and get a chuckle. Some folks did and they played along with it, then some folks just read the title and not much else and thought it was ridiculous. I guess, I know that one persons dry humor is not funny to someone else. I am glad some folks got a chuckle out of it, I am sorry if I irritated others, I did not mean to upset anyone. Thanks for reading, Andy D
  11. Thank you for a great review! It confirms my desire to get this set. Andy D
  12. Great review! Thanks to you (and TLG for providing this set to you). I am now more sure I will get this set! Do you think it can be modded into some kind of hamster treadmill? I really like your number 4 item of people who will not like this set. But does anyone ever have all their parts organized? Looking forward to the B model review. Andy D
  13. Just saw this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/122031857301?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F711-117182-37290-0%252F2%253Fmtid%253D1588%2526kwid%253D1%2526crlp%253D53601919689_324272%2526itemid%253D122031857301%2526targetid%253D186358906089%2526rpc%253D0.25%2526rpc_upld_id%253D73061%2526device%253Dt%2526mpre%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.com%25252Fulk%25252Fitm%25252Flike%25252F122031857301%25253Flpid%25253D82%252526chn%25253Dps%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D9031222%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D239125209%2526adgroupid%253D14978428809%2526rlsatarget%253Daud-126380771769%253Apla-186358906089%2526gclid%253DCj0KEQjwh428BRCnvcyI-5nqjY4BEiQAijebwhpxiSSl_9-J6vEMEL9_XSs2fEL-dqbN3hkHorUECrYaAsTc8P8HAQ%2526srcrot%253D711-117182-37290-0%2526rvr_id%253D1060135234288&ul_noapp=true Note the shipping cost, $200! And estimated ship/arrival date
  14. This whole thread was meant as a humerous attempt to explain the unexplainable (our attraction to LEGO). Sorry if some took it too seriously. There was nothing meant to be serious here. Andy D
  15. Very nice Go-Kart! Lots of function in a small package. I particularly like how the battery box is placed to look like the Kart motor. Great style! Congrats on another great project! Andy D
  16. I did assembly for several MP's back in the day before many high level languages were available. Back in the late 1970's (yes, 1970's) then through the 1980's (yes, we programmed computers in the 1970's and 1980's) I did some Assembly, Pascal and C. I did some javacript and PHP (no more!) My last programmering language was in NXT (I don't even do that anymore). Tired of programming! I just want to build LEGO! Oh yeah, I forgot I also did some Fortran IV (punch cards, I would rather forget) some Basic and Forth. Andy D
  17. Thank you, that is what I was trying to see. Da...mn 53 5x7 frames, that could be a lifetime of frames for a collection. Gotta get this set! Andy D
  18. I never had a "Dark age" because I never had Lego as a child or teen. I had Erector sets! As an adult I bought LEGO for my son, he lost interest, I didn't have a superate interest in LEGO when he was a child. I had a brief interest in the early 1990's because my wife bought sets for me for Christmas as a gag. It was kind of a Christmas time only interest. My real full-fledged interest started in 2008 with Mindstorms, then onto Technic. My interest has been constant since then, moved from Technic to Modular Buildings in 2010 and a rekindled interest in Technic in mid to late 2015. Now my interest is mainly Technic, with a continuing (though less interest) in Modular Buildings and Winter Village. So my interest in Lego has always been as an adult (now a retired adult). Andy D
  19. It would help if here was some context for your answers. Maybe quote the question? Thanks, Andy D
  20. Racks or 5x7 frames? 53 what? Thanks, Andy D
  21. For me the fun of LEGO is building. I have quite a few sets, i have assembled quite a few sets, I display very little. My last project was an 8295 from pieces I have, I never bought the set, but I enjoyed building it. My next project will be a 42009 B in greys and blacks from pieces I have. If I left everything together I would not have pieces. Much cheaper (and more fun for me) to buy sets, rather than BL everything. For me it IS all about the pieces, all about the building. I look at Lego as the ultimat reuseable art supply. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D
  22. The more I look at this model, the more I like it. This one is going to keep me busy for quite some time with both the A and B model. Wow! Looking forward to reviews. Am I the only one that thinks that this looks like LEGO's entry into GBC? Andy D
  23. Sounds like sorting LEGO can be a drinking game. I hope you do not too much to sort. As it could cause severe inebriation. Who knew one could get drunk because of LEGO. <VBG> Andy D
