  1. I'm guessing employee discount or similar. VFRacing: I ordered mine @ buch.de using the 11% coupon they had a couple of weeks ago, which ends up being 88.99. Havn't seen a better deal yet. I found last year's spring sets cheap at a NL store, but they didn't have sales this year :(
  2. You don't even need the part number, it asks you to select a set, then lists all the parts in the set and you can add them to the cart. I wouldn't mind knowing how to add pieces by part number directly, without first entering a set number, anyone know? I also can add the orange panels to my cart, I do not know if they would cancel them if I order any, I'll try it next time I order. TBS:My order included small pneumatic cylinders, when I placed my order they were listed as 3.15 each (Selected from the unimog set), when I paid for my order I was told they were out of stock which would delay my order, but I still got it in 10 days with the cylinder, lego had replaced them with a different part number, and was invoiced 1.50 each. As for bricklink being cheaper, in my case everything in my order was as cheap or cheaper via lego, and I did not have to split shipping between multiple stores, shipping was even cheaper from lego than bricklink, For example the cheapest store in germany with the square frames is selling them for 1.23, while I paid 1.00 each, the larger frames are 50% more expensive on bricklink. I would use bricklink for the types of pieces you get alot of in sets that are parted out for a couple of rare pieces, but the rare pieces themselves are seldomly cheaper. Newly released parts are also significantly cheaper, the new small gears were 13 cents each, bricklink only has 3 stores with more of them than I bought and they all are selling them for at least 3 times as much.
  3. Just a quick update, my order made it here today, I think its been 9 days or so since I paid (And they said they didn't have an item in stock but it was also included) Its also a bit shocking how small the piles of pieces are when you consider it cost the same as the 42006.
  4. I didn't really like 8053, just felt too small for a crane. So I am glad that a real new one is coming out.
  5. I think I saw it in cologne last time I was there.
  6. I think everything in that above order was the same price or cheaper, except maybe the red flex axle I need to replace a missing one. It hasn't been shipped yet so maybe I will still get an email with a different price, but I doubt it. I agree that the smallish very common parts will be cheaper on bricklink, since lego has nothing under 0.10
  7. It lists prices immediately for me, including shipping. And some parts are significantly cheaper than on bricklink. E: Example...
  8. Back when I lived in the USA as a kid I remember staring at the awesome technic sets I couldn't afford like the airtech claw rig, rescue helicoptor, etc. Sounds a bit depressing to not have any technic on the shelves anymore. Here in germany I havn't seen a store which carries lego which does not also have a good selection of technic, and all stores with a larger selection of lego have all the current technic sets.
  9. Its still likely to go through another iteration or two for tweaking, at the fairs they display the type/size of models for Q3, but they still have a couple of months until they have to start production.
  10. I don't have any room for more technic sets, but there is no way I am not going to get that!
  11. OT, but how much was shipping from that shop?
  12. Its almost impossible to determine which angle connector and which axle length is meant for some older instructions, which makes building them very frustrating.
  13. I just got really lucky: I bought a box with 4kg of technic for 65 euros shipped, because it looked like it had a bunch of the 8275 parts on the top, but I wasn't sure since the photo was really small and blurry. After briefly looking though it it appears to contain only incomplete sets, but it includes the full PF for the bulldozer (2 XL, 2 M, 2 receivers, and remote), as well as the tracks and sprockets, and the pneumatic brackets. It also has the full pneumatic parts + wheels of the 8455 and 8462.
  14. I think lego used "cheap" motors in their motors even back in 2002, compared to the state of the art for models.
  15. I code all day at work, and while I have tried to control lego via FPGA / VHDL, I'm not interested in the mindstorms language/capabilities. Only thing I would want to use is a rotation sensor.
  16. I try to keep it under 100 euros / month and often fail. I now have all the old sets I wanted except for one, so it might be easier to hit my target in the future. Ever since I started collecting again I have bought (almost) every new set each year, some of them twice. Also a bunch of used sets for the collection and for parts. Due to this thread I now know there are others who can't resist a good deal even if the parts are probably not needed.
  17. Since you mentioned suspension, the springs on the 8466 sag really badly after many years. Havn't had a dead PF or buggy motor yet.
  18. Has anyone tried to bricklink a UCS star destroyer?
  19. damn thats a good deal.
  20. When building sets I either dump it all out on the living room table ot the carpet, only sorting is kind of spreading out the different bags, but as the build proceeds it gets more and more mixed up. MOCs I have some parts sorted, but mainly have several large containers with random parts in them. If I can't find what I need after some searching I look for a container with the correct part.
