What Collectible MiniFig Is Your Favorite Army Builder?
S.I replied to Mr. Elijah Timms's topic in Special LEGO Themes
~30 S1 forest guys ~20 roman soldiers. Should have also gotten 30 zombies or so, S1 was almost never picked over by me, but I had to choose between archers and zombies.- 65 replies

My confirmation just arrived, but doesn't mention vip points. I'll just ask about it if it doesn't sort itself out in a couple of days.

Not on the german site either, and I'm leaving tommarow morning. Guess I'll buy the towtruck instead of a second crawler.

Stronger Turntable Alternatives

The backhoe also used it. My axle broke many many years ago, and replacements were pretty expensive last time I checked. -

The inside of the right panel looks really strange int he first picture. Bigger on the inside, like a tardis. -

Both my 32L axles were bent, I havn't finished building the crane yet, but would this be a noticeable friction source and should I ask for new ones? -

I misplaced one of the gears on book 1 page 77 (step 12) and had the exact same thing happen. -
Unopened sets waiting to be built
S.I replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It had a list price of 90 here I think, and it just disappeared in many shops without ever being discounted. Captainmib: I can keep an eye out for 8109 next time I visit the stores in town, but it'll be at least 90 euros + shipping, if any still have it :( -
Unopened sets waiting to be built

I had the super star destroyer sitting unopened in my closest for 9 months because I was alternatingly missing the time and the motivation to build it. Ended up building it around new years. Currently I have the old space shuttle sitting half built on my desk, every bushing is cracked which sort of demotivated me, I have most of my parts packed up and havn't gotten around to looking for the box with my bushings. However, the new crane arrived on Thursday and already is half built, on top of the space shuttle. -

Not sure where the collection is located, but even here in Germany it should be worth more (Sold as complete sets). 8043 - ~120, 140 8421 - ~100 flatbed (8109?) - ~50-60 unimog - ~120-140 8285 - ~70 backhoe: ~20 ANd then there are a bunch of pieces left over. Cost of 3500+ makes me think I am not seeing several sets, or they were bought after market for more than retail, or price isn't in euros, because the sets pictured shouldn't have even cost 1000 when new. -
I havn't completely decided yet, but probably will get one just because I cant change my mind later if I don't.

Decided not to wait, ordered it Monday and arrived yesterday. 200 euros - 10 due to the vippoints from buying it is expensive, but now I have a set to build now and can wait to get the other two during pre Christmas sales. -

Really surprising its available @ shop at home, amazon.de doesn't even list it yet and all the other retailers are listing august.I'm undecided whether to order it now or not, as usually amazon/ebay/etc is at least 15% cheaper -
preorders were delayed from july 1st to august 1st, correct?

Old Technic sets losing value?
S.I replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'll be honest, I don't care about the replacement parts being the same age. Got really lucky with the shuttle, BIN for 30 euros, and even the micromotor still works, just a90% of the bushings are cracked. As for buying two sets, I usually do that as well, if the first set proves to have too many missing/damaged pieces, and then I dump everything left over into my parts box. -

slightly off topic, but I recently (finally) picked up a space shuttle. Although the motors still work, almost all of the bushings are cracked (Which I believe is normal for those parts). Do you guys just buy tons of replacement parts from bricklink or what do you do? Also, the 2x6 plates don't seem to cluth very well. -
Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability
S.I replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Saw em in kaufhof and karstadt (Germany), both boxes looked thoroughly picked over. As for marktkauf - the one near me had a random box of old minifigures in their easter display, and they have completely random prices/sales which aren't advertised.
