  1. Just finished building this, was on the fence about it and ended up buying it to bump up my last lego store visit total to grab the mini camel. I must admit I probably would not get it (for full price) again, the attachment is well done, but the rest is fairly boring. Also unlike the larger tractor the attachment doesn't rotate in opposite directions, meaning you hear the blades hitting each other while pushing it along.
  2. I know amazon.it had the set on sale for 120 euros (w. tax), I would guess your order was just forwarded to them. My last set from there had fairly awful QC though, maybe they are getting the "bad" sets and that is why they can sell them so cheaply.
  3. Probably due to the local economy, probably hard to sell expensive toys atm.
  4. I know it happens with age, but I opened the box two days ago and they came out off color, my 10 year old discovery shuttle looks better than the worst new pieces. (Although there are only a few really bad ones)
  5. Tie fighter from amazon.de for 35, and finally have time to start building the imperial shuttle which arrived a month ago.
  6. Two questions: I have been building the imperial shuttle, and some of the types of white parts seem a bit yellowish, has anyone else had that? And does the nonUCS tie advanced (so darth vader's from ep 6) match the new tie fighters in size?
  7. My preorder should arrive first week of august, don't want to wait, but also can't justify the additional costs of buying it now vs preorder prices. Ya they were on (german) ebay for 199, ever since they were available in the lego stores. However the seller must have gotten them cheaper than retail, because ebay auction costs end up being something like 10% of the selling cost, and that would leave 10-20 euros profit.
  8. I have the new ghost polybag, and am looking for the last missing S1 figure: cheerleader.
  9. The bricklink prices for the 8466 are much higher than the (german) ebay ones, something to keep in mind. And if you sell the spare set of wheels on ebay, wait until the crawler is out and advertise them as better/larger crawler wheels or something. Depending on the price I might be interested in one set of the unimog parts.
  10. I have an insane number of gears, because anytime I see a cheap pile of them on ebay I buy em, and when I am grabbing random parts from bricklink I end up adding half the gears in the store to my order. But you can't ever have too many parts :D
  11. I would sell the MISB sets, and use the cash to either get new sets during sales or buy the same older sets used for a fraction of the new price. After all if you bought them for yourself you could have opened them immediately. While you occasionally find a poor quality set on ebay, my experience has been pretty good so far. There are a couple of older sets I always wanted but which came out during my dark ages, and I have managed to get 2 of many of these to ensure I have a complete model and can replace damaged pieces for significantly less than the price of a MISB version. After disassembling, cleaning, and rebuilding they look like new and I have a bunch of parts left over for MOCs. When I clean the parts I just soak them in warm soapy water for a couple of days in a bucket, and swish it around occasionally. Then rince them. (Of course I remove electrical / metal / sticker parts first). I want to look into how people have done that with dishwashers/washing machines and I believe there is a trick to getting rid of yellowing I want to try on a handful of parts. A new crane with the new treads would be fairly awesome, it is something different and something still missing in my collection :)
  12. What if you add an additional cylinder with some sort of resistence which only moves once the leg cylinders for the current step have moved completely and pressure is still rising?
  13. I would ecpect almost everybody who knows they exist already grabbed a set.
  14. Don't have one yet, or I would post plenty. I refuse to pay scalpers on ebay and the nearest lego store is 2 hours away :/
  15. Ya that makes sense, at first I thought you meant the gears inside the diff itself cant fall off and that wouldn't have worked. Preordered mine @ buch/thalia for 150, hopefully they will send em out before august.
  16. But the axis is too long to be placed into the diff in such a way that the gear cannot slide off, its [gear]+ two studs, unless you only want one gear in the diff and then it aint a diff. E: unless you mean add gears outside of the diff and then beams
  17. Or any store with transparent cheese slopes?
  18. Thats exactly why I bought a 8466 myself.
  19. You just need to get lucky on ebay and hope someone doesn't know the set number. (So something like this or this or this. I cant find the last recent example, but someone was selling multiple technic vehicles and you could see a 8466 in the corner in the shadow, and I barely recoqnised it, I think the entire lot went for under 100 euros. )
  20. Ditto, my sun lego arrived today =)
  21. I got the new tie fighter for half price without figs, but I usually dont do that because if you take the sale price of a set, subtract the going prices of the figs, you arrive at basicly zero. Its too much work to try to sell the figures myself though.
  22. Wouldn't mind a UCS mobile crane using 8 or 10 of the unimog wheels, but that would be huge and expensive.
  23. Was going to try to source the hose directly from a company specializing in compressed air stuff, and not from lego themed resellers, as these things usually have a huge markup just like in the watercooling business. Just was wondering what purists thought about using these hoses instead.
  24. You got lucky, I was in upstate NY 2 weeks ago, checked 4 walmarts and 3 kmarts, none of them had any good discounts :/ Here in germany a local store (ex ratio) is selling kings carriage ambush for 20, 6753 highway transport for 45, and 7636 combine harvester for 25,00 .
