  1. Not yet. Want to figure out why it drops stuff sometimes first.
  2. I have spent the last weekend working on a new GBC/marble module. Currently it mostly works but the ball pickup still needs to be synchronized to stop an occasional jam and I may end up having to reinforce the lift arms to stop oscillations from dumping the balls. link link I'm also not happy with the way the 45 degree angle pieces are connected on the two upper arms, but I couldn't figure out how to create the sqrt(2) offset I would need if I didn't lower them by one again. PS: Is there some way to thumbnail external images? [TIMG] doesn't appear to work.
  3. I know people who translate gardening books and the translated versions are often quickly scanned and uploaded. Some people just want a free ride.
  4. I just assume anything I buy used off of ebay will be missing a couple of dollars worth of parts and set my limits accordingly. Often I also just buy two cheap used copies of a set, to have one complete one and a bunch of spare parts, because that still is cheaper than alternatives. For example most of the 8285s I see advertised are missing the silver dishes but they have so many beams and other parts for 60-70 euros that I never cared. And I have to say I've never had something not arrive nor have I ever gotten a set with a significant number of missing pieces.
  5. For the series I build stands which each hold 4 x 16 figures. These I keep in front of my books. The figures I collect for armies are on plates using wing pieces to create parallelograms so that they have a 45 degree angle to the front. (Click here or here)
  6. Does anyone have grinding gears in the arctic vehicle gearbox? It seems to be the large tan gear on the tan pin, but I don't see what is causing it. (Besides the fact that the spacing of the beams next to each other in the gearbox is very tight)
  7. Don't the trial trucks regularly already destroy the 8 / 16 tooth gears using only PF motors? You can always design around the problem by using multiple gears, better reinforced designs, etc.
  8. I mainly just want enough time at home to be able to continue to build my GBC, so here is my attempt at a tiny one using normal bricks instead of technic.
  9. I want a set that contains pieces for either a tie interceptor, bomber, or advanced. That way its still just one set but you can buy multiples if you want multiple models. Stores here in Germany still have plenty of TIEs. Has it really been discontinued a year?
  10. Every normal store near me has piles of em.
  11. Nothing past 26 or so is loading for me. E: ok, so JPG changed to jpg after 26 or so.
  12. E: ^^^ 67 for a 42009? Damn I would have gotten a second one for myself at that price. Grabbed a big box of technic parts of ebay for around 100 euros, almost all of it studless era. It turned out all the power functions, pneumatic, linear actuators, and wheels (wtf) were removed from the box before selling, however it did include sprockets (without links...), 4 pneumatic brackets, and at least 1 of the really rare linear actuator holders. So quite a weird selection of parts but still a good deal considering the amount of pieces in total, since it had 10 clutch gears, 15 frames, all the panels from the unimog and one or two other sets, etc.
  13. Just a little bit overkill, its a 200$ 100Mhz Spartan 3. I'm using it because I am trying to learn VHDL and electronics. Right now I have 5 sensors, and am converting the signals into a rotation count and forwarding that to my PC via USB. I am also working on getting PWM control of the motors working, that's the second board. Once I get it all figured out a bit more I can make a thread or something.
  14. I've been using an FPGA for it, still a WIP though. Definitely the most complicated method, since you need to figure out the electronics and the software side of things.
  15. He lists both creators.
  16. The hotrods folding roof is pretty clever, but that's about it. I bought 42020, 42021, 42022, 42024, 42025 (unbuilt due to space), and 42030. I will most likely get 42023 / 42028 / 42029 if I see a good deal on them.
  17. 8455 for 20 euros at the local fleamarket. It looked complete, and I won't even bother counting the pieces at that price.
  18. Too far for me as well :(
  19. As far as I know you need to match the PWM frequency of the PF system, because the servo motor turns the PWM frequency / duty cycle into the relative position. There are dedicated ICs which output PWM signals, or you can use an H bridge chip etc.
  20. Got a box of lego for 31 euros It appears to contain the folloing sets mostly complete, although I am sure there will be a bunch of parts missing since they are all half built and the loose pieces seem to be a pirate boat and an island fortress: 8880, 8836, 8838, 8815
  21. I just noticed I can't import the 42030 inventory to do that. I have a second 42009 I bought for parts, and I also found a cheap 8043 a while back for parts, so I am assuming I should have most of the parts with either 42009 x 2 + 8043 + 42030, or 42009 x 2 + 8043 + crawler.
  22. Ah, I never had used that before, I saw the XML file and assumed it was a bricklink XML file. I'll give it a try.
  23. First of all, this looks awesome, and I think I will upgrade my 42009. I am wondering whether someone has a diff list of the parts to 1x or 2x 42009? Or is there a way to do that with the file easily in bricklink?
  24. The thing is the spacing is slightly different, I have 16pin breakout connectors (Similar to this) and ribben cable here which I wanted to connect to 4 PF cables, but it doesn't fit properly. So I will need to either use 4 pin connectors on each cable or solder the PF cable directly to my ribben cable.
