  1. I can sort of agree. It's not an ideal set, but it'd be the better alternative than another high speed passenger train. We've had at least 1 every year since 2006, and any variety would be amazing.
  2. I would love to see a 4-8-4 American steam locomotive. Something similar to the Pere Marquette 1225, given it's as iconic a steam train to America due to its role transporting coal to factories in WW2, and more recently, as the inspiration for The Polar Express.
  3. The Horizon Express has just been discontinued. Hopefully this means we get another train in the first or second 2015 product wave.
  4. To be honest, I'm glad that Horizon Express is officially retired. That means we'll have a new train (Hopefully a steam locomotive with a corridor car or another BNSF style American diesel) in time for the first 2015 product wave or a spring release.
  5. I'm just getting started with trains and I got 7499 and 10 curved track pieces, and the flex track seems pretty good as long as you limit it's use and use it for irregularly shaped track sections, with curved track for a larger or banked turn, or for making bridge structures. All the complaints have been about how noisy it is and how much traction you lose, but that depends on your wheels and how many pieces of flex track you use in a single section. Something I'd be careful for is using large curved sections of it unanchored, cause it moves around.
  6. I would love it if they expanded their assortment of motors and sets. I'd love to see new stronger, faster and rugged components, like the 9V buggy motors in 8366 Supersonic RC. We need more stuff that pushes the limit of the Lego Technic system. I was unbelievably disappointed at how slow and weak my 8043 excavator was, and I'm tired of that.
  7. I would love to see a scifi/high fantasy theme, sort of like a mix of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. To prevent the "uggghh not a cool licensed theme" it could have a small well developed cast of main characters and a iconic vehicle. Kind of like how Star Wars has the Millennium Falcon and Star Trek has the Enterprise. I'm guessing a cool greebly steampunk spaceship with a good sized interior and it be about exploration? Like they travel around like Buck Rodgers and explore different planets.
  8. It just got posted to Lego Ideas at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85649 Anyways the cars are based off of Pullman Heavy Weight Observation cars, but every single reference picture I could find of the ones in the film depict it with smooth walls. And I intended for the roof to be studded, as this is primarily meant as a display model, since you could theoretically reenact any scene from the movie besides inside the rebycycling and coal cars, if that makes any sense. Right now I'm working on improving the locomotive from the Railbrick's steam running gear instructions and Tony Sava's Pere Marquette 1225 models, but I'm having difficulties recreating it in LDD due to the 2-8-4 alignment system present on the different models and representation.
  9. Hey guys! Sorry if it seems like I'm botting all the forums for Lego Ideas votes. I'm just using Lego Ideas to host my image sources, so it usually coincides with one of my Lego Ideas projects. Right now, I just completed work on the Polar Express- a 1/78 scale model of a Pere Marquette 1225 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive. It has a coal shunter, 4 passenger cars, and a caboose. Right now the locomotive is painted mainly black with stone grey accents, and the cars are painted black, navy blue, and classic red. If I built it in real life right now, it'd have a astonishing length of about 5 feet/1.6 meters, and only contain 1,697 pieces. This is mainly due to the fact that it's built using 6X34 train plates and 1X16 beams for the base below the car interior. Every single car is built with a modular roof that can be detached for playability inside the train, and the same goes for the actual locomotive. It's capable of holding 42 passengers, if you don't include the chefs and conductor who'll be standing and traveling between the cars. Here are some pictures of the train: The front view of the whole train: The view of the back of the caboose and observation area: View of one of the cars: View of the Entire Train: Whats funny is it's literally so large I couldn't photograph it any larger without displaying the whole screen and UI around it. Cross Section of a Train Car With Adjustable seats: Rear View of a Train Car: Mid View of the Train from Behind: Anyways, I hope I could receive some feedback on this. It's my first actual try at a Lego Train, so there are obviously some areas where I can improve. Also, when the project is approved within the week, it's called The Polar Express on Lego Ideas, and it'll be posted by my account there, LegoGuyLOL4Ever. If anyone is interested, I'm also attaching a copy of the Lego Digital Designer file to this. If you try to build it IRL, it might be expensive due to the amount of Navy Blue. polar express 2.0 copy.lxf
  10. That sucks. I'm hoping it retires at the very latest at the end of the January wave of lego sets. I would kill for a $250 dollar UCS Falcon with interior. I've been experimenting around in Lego Digital Designer, and really the only greeblies on the actual thing are on the mandibles, back half, docking ring, and the radar dish. Lego shouldn't pad the parts count by sticking greeblies on every studded surface. It kinda ruined the Falcon for me, cause now whenever I see movie clips the studio model is pretty smooth. So in reality, Lego didn't need the $500 dollar price point on the 10179 and we don't need it again.
  11. Classic Space Star Fighter This is my Classic Space Star Fighter. It holds two pilots, which sit in the cockpit with one on controls, with the other one as a backup. Given the nostalgia of Classic Space (Space, Futuron, Blacktron, etc.), which has only been fueled by Benny from the Lego Movie and the Exosuit, I thought I'd try to make a spaceship. It's got eight engines, a cargo hold, and secondary flaps for atmospheric flight. It's capable of holding gear (or extra Turtles!) in it's four auxiliary cargo holds, located behind the observation panels on 4 of the eight sides of the craft. Closeups: Maximum Velocity: 45,000 MPH Classification: Light Freighter/Transportation Classic Space Jet Fighter Unlike my other model, the Classic Space Starfighter, this one is designed specifically for HALO (High Atmosphere, Low Orbit) applications. For maneuverability, it foregoes the standard engines and directional thrusters for a series of Ion Pulse drives. These are powered directly by electricity, eliminating the need for pesky fuel! Given it's application as a espionage or small freight vehicle, it also gets rid of the standard cockpit and replaces it with a forcefield. In the event that there is equipment failure, there's a mechanically operated life support system connected to the Pilot from the seat. Also, it has lift generating wings, a parachute, and a Ramjet engine in the event of having total power loss or for atmospheric travel. Alternate View: Maximum Velocity: 25,000 MPH Classification: Light Freighter/Atmospheric Transportation Thanks for viewing my models! I'm going to work on some more, but it'll take a bit of time since I dual post them to Lego Ideas and Eurobricks. 12. I'm hoping he left enough room to brace it with some technic and classic technic beams throughout thee hull. The part that seems most likely to collapse are the tubular sections to the docking rings and cockpit, and likely the entire cockpit. It'll be interesting to see this fold out. I personally would've started on the saucer and not jump around to different components. I can't wait for the next update and whether the Minifigure scale Millennium Falcon I'm working on will hold up to his.
  13. I would love to see some more female-female leg pieces, and some male-male elbow joint pieces again. Something that greatly annoys me about CCBS is the lack of any close technic integration (you can't use technic or old style bionicle armor pieces due to the lack of technic). It would be extremely beneficial if they scrapped the integrated balljoint in CCBS limbs and use technic pinholes. Then you can use technic wherever, and if you need to use a CCBS shell, just use a 3 length lift arm with balljoint. That seems like a good compromise.
  14. This is really good looking! I admit, I'd never be able to pump anything this good out in LDD this fast, but how are you going to support the structure? I'd personally use some dale bricks, wedges, and hinges and try to build a stable, solid arch throughout the round sections. That'd compromise you the playability and interior you want, and get a semi decent framework which should support the weight properly.
  15. It seems a bit far fetched, but after Mata Nui reinhabits the Ignika and goes exploring, what if the different Toa teams jury rigged the Great Spirit Robot and tried to restore it or at the least hunt down the remaining Makuta? That could possibly lead into my theory that Okoto is one of the southern islands in the Great Spirit Robot...
  16. Vezon and Fenrakk as a anniversary set would be pretty cool! He was the third Bionicle set I got, and there would be so much nostalgia overload (not that there isn't already!), but whether this is a reboot or continuation, I want a Anniversary set to be a large scale (think Witch Doctor or 8998 Toa Mata Nui sized) Titan set of Takanuva and Makuta Teridax. Teridax could use dark red, trans red, and gunmetal shells and Kraahkan, while Takanuva is colored white, silver, and gold, with a pearl gold Avohkii. That's pretty much my idea of a good Anniversary set.
  17. MINI LEGO SEA COW LDD 17B Hey guys! Thought I might want to share my first Pirates MOC. I was looking at some of the relatively few mini models of the Sea Cow from the lego movie, when I noticed something. They were all extremely good, (especially the one here on Eurobricks) but they were all too small. So I built my own. A full front view of it. Obviously the sail details aren't perfect, but I did my best. You can see the shaping of the hull, which I did using numerous hinges and SNOT techniques. The bowsprit on the front is constructed using hinges, 1X3 plates, and rounded slopes. The entire inside of the ship is semi-accessible, but the size makes interior detailing difficult. Sorry about the inconsistencies in the images. The first one was taken before I updated the Lego Ideas page. A better view of the back half of the ship, as well as the chair. The rear deck of the ship, as well as a partial view of the upper cabins in the ship. Visit the link below if you want to vote for it on Lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.c...s/79307/updates
  18. My first bionicle figures were Toa Hordika Vakama and Nuju, and my last ones were the Bionicle Stars Rakshi, Takanuva, and Tahu.
  19. The images as far as I can tell are down on the shopping site. The only way I can feel looking at them, is simple. I like the design of some of the smaller sets, but the ship looks absolutely ridiculous. Now I'm not expecting another IF, but for 179.99 NZD, you'd expect something a bit more substantial and more detailed. It looks like a Juniors set because of the strict brick built order without any use of simple techniques.
  20. Between the Constraction titans I own, it'd probably be Vezon and Fenrakk or Rockoh T4. I think I like them because they just feel substantial, especially because they give you more than just a shiny figure with pistons on his legs. As far as the ones I want, it's a tie between Axalara T9, 2008 Takanuva, or Toa Mata Nui. I want Toa Mata Nui so much I'm considering buying the DeCool knockoff just for the semblance of having it.
  21. I'm pretty excited about this. In fact, it was the reason that pushed me over the edge on why I decided to create a Eurobricks account. Not trying to be funny, but what's the loosest definition of "ship" that you'll allow?
