We may not be in total control over Lego's product releases right now and don't know about any future Lego trains, but there is one thing we can do and that is flood Lego Ideas with decent, inexpensive train projects. Like Talos's train station, Henrick Ludvigsen's DB Class 103, this subway: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/100353. If more trains end up on there with at 10,000 votes, we could eventually control the choice in trains we get and give proof to Lego that trains are more than a small niche product. The problem is, not a lot of Train projects reach 10,000, and those that do are quite unreasonable. We need to change this if we want more trains.

I love the design of this station. It's impressive looking, is super detailed, and best of all it's reasonably small enough that it could become a set if it reaches 10,000. I just supported it on Lego Ideas.

Lego Freight Train idea & instructions
Lego Dino 500 replied to LegoGunInstructions's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Don't forget the brick built windshield and trucks. -
Both your Russian fire train and your extended 7938 look really good. Do you have a custom interior on your 7938, or is it all plain passenger cars?

So who likes the new Bricklink skin?
Lego Dino 500 replied to bonox's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There are some kinks with the new design, but I'm pretty happy with it. I was talking to ScootersBricks on reddit /r/lego about the new design, and he mentioned how he visited the Bricklink team, and they previewed a few upcoming features for Bricklink. Apparently, they're conceptualizing a new feature that would serve the same purpose as Brickficiency, but it doesn't require any other programs. -
Lego themes that we would like to happen
Lego Dino 500 replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A Train theme with new locomotives, track sets, and individually purchasable cars. Also maybe some track sets similar to the Thomas The Tank Engine, where it'd come with a track layout with some features and a building.- 451 replies

American trains - steam - diesel - electric and thier consists
Lego Dino 500 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Oh, it's cool you don't have to apologize. I'll just design something myself, I was just curious how your train would run. -
American trains - steam - diesel - electric and thier consists
Lego Dino 500 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hey Murdoch, if its built, do you have any pictures of your Southern Pacific Daylight? I'm thinking of bricklinking it, but I want to see what the model's like before I do. -
If they do go through with this research, there's a material I can imagine that could possibly work. Just recently, (I forgot where) a university engineering project discovered a way to make injection molded wood, by processing the the waste linin, which is what holds wood together, into a recycled naturally sourced plastic type material. I'm not sure how effective the original injection molded wood material would be, but I can imagine they can tweak the formula and add additives, to make it more effective.

Right now all I have is a slightly modded 60052, but I plan on bricklinking an extended 7938, a Constitution Train Chase, and maybe Murdoch17's bluebonnet F7 and Emerald Express. It's kinda hard to collect Lego trains off your own allowance.

Best way to start building, get back into LEGOs
Lego Dino 500 replied to El Wray's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It depends on what you want to build. If you're wanting to get started with trains, I recommend the current 60052 City set. It has all electronics, plenty of track, and several train bases, wheel sets, and couplers to get started. If you're wanting to go into vehicles and buildings, I'd start with one of the Creator sets, or a modular building, depending on your budget. -
One of my biggest dreams would be for Lego to make 34L flat train car bases, and to use those instead of the current 24L and 28L ones. The current bases are great, but they're disproportionately short for the size of the locomotives and trains.

Your expierence with fake lego clones products
Lego Dino 500 replied to YellowCorvette's topic in Community
I haven't had much experience with clone brands, short of a few Megabloks sets I got when I was younger. However, I am looking at that Enlighten Frisco Fe train, since I can't afford the $350 for a Santa Fe. However, I may just bricklink it and hope for the best. -
If you build trains upside down at this scale and place the grill plates on the bottom, you could possibly create usable rails at this scale. For the rails, you could place a 1x2 grill halfway on a 1x2 plate, connect to another, and bend into a curve, ad infinitum. So many possibilities with this!

Lego themes that we would like to happen
Lego Dino 500 replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'd love to see the return of Neo-classic Space and fantasy, but a lot more elaborate and dark, instead of the campy stuff we get in the castle theme. Something like the Elder Scrolls.- 451 replies

I just looked back through the ME Models store, and I'm really excited! I'm not sure how responsive ME Models still is on here, but I have a few questions. Do you guys plan on selling through Amazon? I imagine that if you did, you'd be able to reach a larger demographic than through just the AFOL market on Eurobricks and Kickstarter, with the added safety net and reassurance of operating through a third party system like Amazon has in place. Second question: How long will it be before you plan to release locomotives and rolling stock? That's the #1 thing I'm excited for, besides the large radius curves and rails. I can't wait until I can individually buy cars and locomotives, without the expense of paying for a whole entire extra set like what Lego does. What sort of rolling stock and locomotives do you plan on releasing? Sorry, it's just that I'm so excited for a aftermarket to open up for custom Lego trains, without the expense and exclusivity of purchasing a MOC on bricklink.

They were using the triple a box. They had managed to mount it sideways between the trucks of a train base, so they could have more room for a interior.

I remember a topic from a few months ago about someone who managed to fit the PF battery box under the train base on a MOC of theirs. I've been trying to find it, using the search box, google, and just about every word combination I can think of, but I still can't find it. Can anyone help me? I'd like to use this on a MOC soon.

New locomotive on LEGO Ideas + new Guinness World Record
Lego Dino 500 replied to Henrik Ludvigsen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I just noticed something. Is there a possibility of using a printed windshield piece like on the HE? That would give it that distinct two window shape of a DB 103, while still staying in budget. -
These look awesome! The only problem I see is the fact that if you got into Lego after the Maersk train like me and many others, you're bang out of luck as far as container and intermodal cars to hold these beauties goes. Are you considering selling cars for these? I imagine they'd be fairly expensive, but if I could get a pair of these and a car they go on, I'd grab them faster than a carne asada burrito

I really love this whole layout. The thing is, is this the whole thing, or will you add more track so you can run loops through it?
