My first reaction upon seeing the set: OMG I can make a choir!!!! Now where can I get lots of carolers' faces? :D

I want this so bad. But I still have the Ferris Wheel and The Big Bang Theory on my wish list, and no money to fulfill it with.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

It refers to anyone whose gender identity corresponds to their biological sex at birth ie. not trans, intersex, or gender-fluid. So if you were born male, you identify purely as a man etc. -

You say 'girly' and 'camp' like it's a bad thing. Did you actually think that all modular building fans were straight masculine cisgender men? -
REVIEW: 71010 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14
Jern92 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is the first time I've ever even considered buying the entire box, or collecting the entire series. Need the spectre and banshee especially to haunt my Haunted House, and the Gargoyle on pillars around it. Tiger Girl can join my animal suit minifigures. -
It's like when CitizenBrick sold their Breaking Bad set for $250, and man it was tiny. Was it worth it to anyone who bought it? Hell yes, because they were fans of the show and it made an excellent display piece. Otherwise, it's just a set with absolutely terrible value.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
Jern92 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My imagination is running wild.... Anyway, I decided to take a break from Lego a week ago in view of my finances. Having seen this though, I realise that I must now make an exception because they would look awesome around my Haunted House. ARGH! -
Taiwan's BRICK Works - LEGO-themed Cafe or a LEGO Store ripoff?
Jern92 replied to legofanatic12's topic in Community
I'm going to Taipei in October. Can anyone recommend some good Lego/brick-building toy stores worth visiting? -
NZD110 in NZ. That is really pricey for such a small set.

Why does Lego keep releasing sets I want when I have no money to buy them with? Still saving up for the Ferris Wheel, The Big Bang Theory, Wall-E, and the Kwik-E-Mart. Now i have this to save up for too. If only I could convince my boyfriend to buy it for me...

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Jern92 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I personally love interiors because I do not have the budget or skills to make my own at the moment, and to have a whole row of empty buildings wouldn't be as much fun. Plus I do kinda like the play feature that interiors bring, even though I personally felt the DO storyline was bordering on ridiculousness. Which I guess works in a way since at the end of the day, it is a kid's toy and is supposed to be based on a kid's imagination. The Parisian Restaurant is my all-time favorite because of both its interior and exterior details. I like my buildings big, but I also like them well-designed with nice interiors, so I guess it is sometimes a compromise. I enjoy the ingenious building techniques that allows us to build architectural elements and little pieces of furniture. Hard to have the best of both worlds though. We're not all Hannah Montana -

I'm going to give Penny a wineglass and a bottle of wine to hold. Then she'll be easily recognizable

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Jern92 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
You could bring them with you. That was what I did with my fire brigade, grand emporium, pet shop, town hall, palace cinema, parisian restaurant and haunted house. All the way from NZ to Malaysia -
I got the Pet Shop at 25% off from them last time. It was the one time they had a sale that included exclusives I wish they had a lower free shipping threshold. The one time I bought something from Lego was last year when I got the Haunted House and Grand Emporium together to qualify for free shipping. Normally it's hard to justify paying full price for items if they're available and going at sale prices in NZ. However, I am greatly tempted by the Kwik-e-mart and the Ferris Wheel...

Will definitely get it, but might wait for sales. Always wanted a ferris wheel in my city, and now I will finally have one!
-
Yeah, that's one thing that puts me off ordering from MightyApe sometimes. I got a Town Hall last year and the box was creased as if someone tried to fold it in half. Saw loads of both at the Hamilton Toyworld. Probably cost more to make the drive there and back though.

Was at Toyworld sylvia Park yesterday but they ran out of road plates, except for one that had been torn open pretty badly from both ends and the plates were falling out, so me being me, I pushed them back in and tidied it up a bit. Considered buying it (I didn't want anything else), but the store manager absolutely refused to discount it, although the salesperson who assisted me wanted to, because she claimed that only the packaging was torn and the contents were OK (this was AFTER I had tidied it up). Note to self: Leave things as they are next time. If you do manage to get two of the same sets (or two with the same price), they'll effectively be 25% off. But if you don't manage, might be easier to wait for a proper 25% sale.

Is there a staircase to access the roof garden?

Never watched the Simpsons, but was tempted by the house for my city, so ended up asking my sister for it as 3 birthdays' worth of presents. Felt quite underwhelmed when I built it; the building process wasn't as fun or challenging as modulars to me (I'm used to those) and the minifigures were hideous (again, I think the cartoon versions are fine, but the minifigs themselves have creepy bulging eyes and leery grins, like psychopathic child molesters). Of course, it all looked pretty cool when I finished; love the final appearance of the house, and it'll fit well in the suburbs of my city next to my Haunted House (I only collect large buildings). Will wait for Lego to release more large houses before I expand the area. One issue I had was that when I joined the house and garage together, the roof plate of the garage that's right next to the house gets pushed up slightly, so it doesn't sit properly. The front looks ok, but the back's definitely crooked. Anyone else had this issue, and any idea how to solve it? Or is it a design flaw?
