  1. Haha, this has to be the most entertaining review I've read in a long time
  2. My Ferris Wheel carriages keep knocking onto the sides of the platform for some reason, and there's a definite lean to one side. I've tried gently pushing it to the other side, pressing the bricks into the build more firmly, and even adjusting the rubber band axles, but it still goes back to its original leaning position. Anyone else facing this problem?
  3. I want an army of penguin guys with their little penguin sidekicks. Argh this series is going to empty my bank pretty quickly!
  4. At least it's only limited to your area. In Malaysia this happened all over the country, and for the past couple of minifigure series with the animal suit figures.
  5. Even if there were a hospital, judging by the current trend of decreasing sizes, we'd probably get a little clinic, or a hospital of similar design to the past Fire Stations and Police Stations. Unless they were to make it a modular, but that doesn't seem likely because there wouldn't be enough space for everything you'd typically find in a hospital. Gone are the days where we get large sets, unless it's something like the Helicarrier or the Ghostbusters Headquarters.
  6. Personally I think he's rather cute, in a warm and fuzzy sort of way.
  7. I want it so badly, but I shudder to think what the cost would be
  8. Why is it so small? And the Beast head has been shrunk to be in proportion with the body, which of course makes it out of proportion overall. Argh I was so hoping for a proper Beast!
  9. Wouldn't it be oddly out-of-proportion if it was just the Beast's head on a minidoll body? Like he was halfway through a transformation and got stuck that way. Probably a worse fate than being a full beast.

I think it's a little too tall too. Looks a bit weird.
  11. Temple of Airjitsu. I'm not even a Ninjago fan and I'm greatly tempted by it
  12. holy crap that's amazing

Agreed. My interest in Lego is waning thanks to the constantly increasing prices, decreasing sizes, the scarcity of supply in some parts of the world, and my finances. Having to choose between a modular and a week's holiday in a foreign country makes the modular less worthwhile, now that they are smaller. Nowadays I find myself looking to other cheaper brands like Oxford, where you get both size and quality for a lower price. Their Korean castle and Heritage sets look pretty awesome.
  14. May I know how many baseplates you used in the square itself (excluding buildings)?
  15. And I only wanted the farmers for the pigs, which will fit quite well into my Medieval Market Village. The figures can go into my city as a random set of triplets. Same thing with the Faun, from which I only wanted the torso so I can have shirtless minifigures in my city.
  16. Haha, I tend to feel for the cup to check if it's the wrestler. No idea how to feel for the thief though. Jewel piece maybe?
  17. If you can feel the rake then it should be correct. I'm not sure how the pig feels like, but that should be distinctive too. Thanks a lot!
  18. The guy on the left is gorgeous (can't remember if he's the graphic designer or the other guy) Anyway, back to the topic. This set seems massively overpriced when you compare it to the GB HQ, which has almost twice the number of pieces for a slightly higher price.
  19. They're mostly quite obvious actually. Once you've felt enough packs you learn the identifying characteristics of each one.
  20. I got the Gold Warrior to use as a statue in my city because he looks rather magnificent and statue-y. His wings would be good for building facade designs too, if I can figure out exactly what to do with them. There are loads of Clumsy Guys here for some reason. No one seems to want him, or the Janitor, Wrestler, and Kendo Fighter. Surprisingly chanced upon some abandoned Animal Control Officers today so got myself 2 of those. To this day I have yet to feel a Shark, Queen, Ballerina, Farmer, or Jewel Thief, as those seem to be the most popular.
  21. Quick, get Pet Shop before it retires!
  22. Awesome, thanks! I will keep looking here, but I'm not particularly hopeful EDIT: Gave it another shot and tried 3 stores today because I heard that they restocked. Turns out they restocked in the morning and people were waiting outside the shops even before they opened, so almost everything was gone by the time I got there after work. The same figures are missing, with only the common ones left. Oh well....
  23. Got mine in Malaysia and it seems to be reprinted and had the 'fixing' bricks incorporated into the existing packs and the 'offending' parts removed.
  24. As I'm currently in Malaysia for work, I had to buy minifigures here, and it was a complete nightmare. The stores got them in Friday afternoon while I was at work, so I called them up after but the ones nearest to me had sold out. On Saturday, I drove to 3 different toy stores in 3 different malls to look for them. At the first, there was a couple ahead of me with what appeared to be the contents of a new box, out of which they bought about 30 or so packs. I went through the rest and got 2 Fauns, 1 Tribal Woman, 1 Clumsy Guy, 1 Golden Warrior, 1 Scary Knight and 1 Robot. Wanted the Farmer, Shark Guy, and Queen but the couple had bought them all. Undeterred, I drove to another store, where I discovered that they were also sold out of Farmers, Shark Guys, Tribal Women, and Queens. Onwards to another store, same thing. I asked the stores if they had any more unopened boxes, but they didn't, and no one had any idea when there would be a restock because they just got these the day before. This was getting a little ridiculous so I gave up in the end. What was happening was that resellers were going to all the stores and clearing them out of all the more popular minifigures as soon as the stores put them on shelves, then putting them up for sale online at twice or thrice retail prices. So the rest of us either had to be able to turn up at toy stores at completely random times (which isn't possible when you're working full-time) or miss out altogether. It's getting frustrating. So, if anyone in New Zealand (sunhuntin, Coopa182) would be kind enough to help me buy 2 Sharks, 1 Queen, 1 Animal Control Officer, and 3 Farmers, I will happily pay you for them and for postage to Auckland (and you will also have my eternal gratitude). We can do it via TradeMe if you want it to be safer.
