  1. When they said the Friends polybag is available with any purchase of Friends products, does that mean one can simply buy a keychain and get it free? Or do you have to buy larger sets?
  2. Current plans for the DO: 1. Get rid of the kitchen and make it a tiny rooftop studio apartment, where the Dino Tracker from CMF 12 lives. Only in this case, she's the city's vigilante, with an endless array of murder weapons at her disposal. 2. The barrel, instead of being filled with cookies, will be filled instead with the bodies of her victims, and treated Breaking-Bad style via the toiletbowl in the first floor. 3. The detective will be replaced with the Sheriff from CMF 13, who is investigating the string of murders in the city, and has a tendency to carry out investigations in disguise (here the Piggy Guy from CMF 12 will come in useful, as well Unicorn Girl and Hot Dog Guy from CMF 13). 4. The barber is a secret supporter of Ms Vigilante, and assists in getting rid of bodies, as well as informing her of new criminals through newspapers and gossip. 5. The mysterious lady in red is a double agent; she admires the vigilante because her loved ones were killed by criminals years ago, and the Detective is in love with her, so she's using that to distract him from finding the Vigilante. That's as far as i got. Haven't thought of anything else at the moment. But a building that looks childish with childish play features as some people see it could also be converted into something more... macabre.
  3. I can never resist the temptation of building as well as you can. Usually I buy mine while they're on sale, keep them nicely until holidays, and then dig in!
  4. Wow that didn't take long at all. Someone who didn't see the original post would probably end up buying it, because the starting bid is quite low compared to what these sets are currently worth. Still, I'm disgusted by how he's lying about the buildings. That's a whole new low. And I asked about how long he considers 6 days to be. He probably won't reply. XD EDIT: He replied! "it is not from that listing. It is from my own collection few years back. The green grocer from that listing is still in that big storage box as I don't have enough time to sort them out. Cheers" So he does know what we're referring to. Still, quite a nice coincidence that he suddenly decides to sell sets from 'his own collection', right after acquiring some new ones. Don't forget Ka-ching Three! http://www.trademe.c...n-813862290.htm
  5. I figured lots of 1x1 tiles on their sides would look convincing as books on a shelf. A big block wouldn't look as nice.
  6. I have a vigilante/murderess in my city, with a large collection of murder weapons (guns, knives, daggers, bow and arrows) at her disposal. Soon the detective will be hot on her trail....
  7. Oh that's actually not too bad! Thanks! Might really consider getting it now
  8. Any idea how big or small these are? I'm building a city square and figured these might look good as sculptures in the middle, but only if they aren't dwarfed in comparison to modular buildings.
  9. Haha I like how the GE is advertised as new! Over here in NZ we seem to have been out of that for months now, but there are still TH's around in toy stores. With regard to speculation about new modulars, I'd love to have a corner bookstore. :D
  10. I acquired all my Modulars this year (except CC, MS and GG), and recently finished building the final one. Now I'm trying to place them into a proper town-ish layout. Need lots of extra parts for roads, squares, plants etc, and just can't afford them at the moment, so lots of blanks in my layout.
  11. I think the house next to the PS would go well with the FB, because they have a similar colour scheme. Throw the PC in there as well and you'll have a row of red buildings :-)
  12. ARGH HOW DID I MISS THAT! And $400 for all those RETIRED sets is a complete ripoff. I feel bad for the seller.
  13. In NZ, prices of modulars are generally similar, but can vary quite widely in some cases. Palace Cinema : $269 Town Hall : $369 Everything else: $299 Simpsons house : $399 A lot more than a $10 difference.
  14. I like how it's built in a very different style from previous modulars. That was what made me fall in love with the PR in the first place; how different it was from all the others. And it's actually the DO and not the DA like we thought :-P
  15. Anyone kind enough to share the image? Please? In a private message would be good. EDIT: It has the bulk of older modulars but also the architectural details of the PS. Love it! Is that meant to be a bar, or just a sort of shop that lets people play pool in it? And are those apartments above the Barber?
  16. You seem to forget that Market Street was a CUUSOO/Ideas set back in the days, and it's price point was certainly much higher, not to mention its larger size. With the next Modular, I'd expect it to be slightly bigger than PR, but not as big as the older Modulars. Maybe closer to the PS than the TH.
  17. I hope it passes too. Have wanted it ever since I first saw it.
  18. Diggydoes: The agency is on top of the bar Taken from Brickset So there's a bar now?
  19. I'm assuming: - ground floor with barber shop, alley, and stairs to the first floor - first floor with detective agency - second floor with an apartment with the pool table
  20. Awesome! I don't even like trains generally but this is a set I wouldn't mind buying if it was ever sold!
  21. Maybe the Lady Cyclops is Leela from Futurama
  22. What is Sheldon building? I can't make it out
  23. I think the premise of TBBT is that even though you get bullied a lot as kids, you can still grow up to be someone amazing. It's not saying that everyone has the right to make fun of you, but simply pointing out the ways of the world; that if you don't conform, people are going to bully you, which is pretty spot-on, I must say. I am very much a non-conformist myself, and sometimes people give me shit for it. they don't have the right to; they just do, because they're megablocks. Does that mean that I should conform? Or that people observing my situation should conform? No, it doesn't; it inspires you to stand up for yourself, knowing you're right, knowing that these bullies will get the worse deal at the end of the day. The best part about the characters in TBBT is that they don't conform, and they are still rich, successful and happy while their bullies are poor and live terrible lives. I don't see it glorifying bullying in any way, but the complete opposite. It celebrates being true to who you are, as a person, regardless of what anyone says, and being happy for it.
  24. I actually like the lack of colours because I think it is appropriate for a museum. A lot of museums I have seen do tend to be tan-coloured instead of a mixture of bright colours.
  25. YES! Can't wait for it to finally hit shelves! I'm not making the same mistake I did with RI; this time, it'll be a first-day purchase!
