IF it is real, the names of the figs would be just hwatever the eprson saw. "ranger" would proapbly have been faramir, some orc proapbly would be gothmog etc.
-
It proapbly is the source for it, and highly unrelaiable at that. I don't think we should start believeing any lsits before that is a proper source for it.

IF you are showing the supposed set names for 2014 lotr, I'm not sure the source for that was ever solid in any way.

Well Scott is suppsoedly the design manager/design lead. He is pictured together with them 3 deisgners with the hobbit sets. But the video also states that Henrik is also design manger for hobbit, Both those design mangers/design leads have deesigned sets for LOTR, so maybe they have made some for either theme next year aswell? there was another minifig designer on the initial LOTR wave, togetehr with Djordje. DUnno who, but Djordje did most of them.

Hmm, LEGO has gone alot more sneaky with keeping secrets recently. But hopefully theres no secrets to keep in regards to LOTR, if we dont know from the catalogue, we might know at toy fair.. Btw has anyone asked any of the lego designers? lotr/hobbit has/had: 2 design managers 6 set designers(including the 2 design managers) 1 minifig designer

Im not really mad about it, but I do think they look alot more right, casue they are a werid deformed bunch. Lego's bald cap solution makes their ehads tilt backwards, when in the movie all the goblins have their heads pointing forward. They did it to give us a more versatile piece, but lego has yet to use the bald cap on any non-goblin orcs. They should have made orange baldcap to give to the gundabad orcs, so we could have 3 hair/head configurations with them.

Lots of guys in helmets gets boring for named characters. Azog inflicted his scars on himself btw, it's like tattoos, And The gundabad orcs do needs to stay fairly light cause they are riding around on wargs HUNTING not going to war, The soldier orcs that goes to the BO5A are decked out in proper armor, for all we know Azog might gear up this time around.

Well, that design was intended for azog, scrapped, then they thought it could be Bolg instead, when Azog turned cgi, they couldn't have his son be non cg, and they never quite liked that design so they made a new cg design for Bolg.

I hope this do a head+ shoudelr armor piece for him, like they did with Azog,

I just hope they don't end up releasing the old version and not the new.

I think some of you might have missed this video, shows some interesting early design thoughts for the minifigs.

No it's not different, lego made the dol guldur courtyard, they did not intend to make the whole fortess.
-
Dol guldur, and black ggte does not feel half finished, dol guldur has a great recognizability from the movie and its as finished as the moria set. The black gate is litteraly half a set but it is very much completely desgned, well designed too. Once you have 2 sets it looks incredible.

They replaced him with that shouder armor orc. Havent got any link. it was a prelim model not a sketch model
-
All we've sen of him online is a "naked" bad mocap version of him. The desccription ffrom people whsoe seen this film is that: He's azog-ian looking, metal on his ehad, some short hair bear paw shouderlpads(smaller than old Bolg) straps across his chest with some armor bits, leg situation simialr to azog's clothes/armor. Apaprently hes got longer arms than azog, and his skull is splitting apart or has some tumor guess thats reason for the metal on his head.
-
Nope, the prelim SET image obv held a placeholder, but the minifig lineup showed Bolg as he was used to look. And the set included BOTH Azog and Bolg. The deisgn for bolg has changed into a CG thing with a mostly new design, I think thats why lego didn't include him, they didn't have time to desgn the new bolg, but in the movie bboth Azog and Bolg are see together in Dol guldur. Bolg survives DOS so we could assume we'll get his minifigure next year. Speculation: we dont know how far along LEGO came making the old Bolg figure, but if they had started physical production of him, theres a potential we could see him as a pre order for the game, or as a comic con exclusive. Games workshop has gotten away with renaming that version "gundabad orc general" cause he is seen in AUJ after all.

A 3rd hobbit wave was confirmed a while ago...

The "problem" with that is that the Armor plate on his back is not spectacular enough for him, Yes you lose the button things but he comes of as as a lower class than the rest of the guards. --- With regards to Bard/Smaug, bard has been seen carrying around one of those ballista "arrows" in Laketown. Perhaps he'll use it with a ballista, or perhaps he will forge it into normal arrrows.

The problem with that is it would seem too much like the shoudelr muscle was floating on top of his arm. A shorter iron hook/hand would have been better, they could have emoved one of those 2 studded sections in my opinion. I "modded" together a Captain of the Laketown guard figure. Perhaps as a suggestion to people who intend to aquire a bunch of Laketown guards, who might need someone to lead their troops. The head is from Dan reid.

No no, it wasnt compared. Cumberbatch does a Rickman impression quite often.
