  1. Thank you! Thanks Gideon!
  2. Ruadh itself will remain neutral in the conflict. However, a few of the younger, more restless Minotaurs will be active in guerilla actions. Thus far, they are heeding the advice of their elders, waiting to get more intelligence before choosing a side.
  3. Thanks gendren_y!
  4. Thanks, McC! And thanks to the Bing Klingon translator -- I knew what I wanted the names to sound like, but it's nice to have a (even fictional) linguistic reference point. Thanks Bregir! I agree, I like it when independent builds embrace the common threads that hold our world together. Oh! I see what you mean. At some point, I'll play with formal "framing" bases. Thank you, Carson! Frankly, neither do I! I don't have the bricks to do anything larger-scale in other geographies, but it was really refreshing to venture out of the desert! Thank you for your compliments.
  5. Tragic! Brilliant photography, and great posing. Can't wait for what challenges await us.
  6. As others have said, this feels so ominous. Great job on the build, robuko -- so many details to appreciate, both in terms of architecture and destruction.
  7. My favorite part is the exterior rockwork. Intriguing story, and that space-age-looking-coffin has captured my curiosity.
  8. Love these! I tend to feel cramped by a 16x16 plate -- you've showed just what variety and marvelousness can be achieved in a small space. My favorite, I think, is the croc tree, for its scale. The Bat trainer's manor is a close second, though -- that interior is killer!
  9. Beautiful build! I'm not used to seeing interiors from you, but as usual you've created an awesome build. The photography, with the limited depth of field in the conversational shots, is exceptional.
  10. The build may be pic-heavy, but it's worth it. This is a fantastic build! In particular, I really like the stairs and arch leading down from the guard room, that awesome crypt room with vamps popping out, and the shots of your army marching over the landscape. Loving this collab. Looking forward to where things will go from here!
  11. I'm flattered you'd use my small build as an example! In fairness, the timing on the Bloodbath build was serendipitous. I'd talked to Lord Vlad via PM about my build a while ago; I had wanted to make sure it fit with his Shadowmere canon, even as peripheral as it is. The timing of posting the build was brilliant luck. That said, I'd like to reiterate the importance of coordinating with other creators before inserting yourself into a particular location or storyline -- it's polite and helps world-building. There are always small details to be shared that make both individual builds and our GoH world richer.
  12. DG and kabel, wishing the best for your little ones.
  13. I *think* I totally love it -- except for the key, which doesn't correspond with the numbering. But I totally love the future update? Beautiful work. You've done your guild proud.
  14. LOVE that SNOT base! I also really dig your palm trees using the bamboo pieces, especially the ones with the round plates and "flowers" as the trunks -- I may borrow that! I disagree with blufiji about the olive green -- I think the transition from green to olive green as you move away from the oasis is really natural, for a desert scene. Personally, I find the dark orange plates a bit distracting; the brightness is a bit to contrast-y with the otherwise muted sandiness. Overall, though, another brilliant build!
  15. I don't know that you need -fewer- colors, so much as different colors. In the embankment, it would make more sense to use grays instead of browns -- stones instead of chunks of wood. But if you're working with a limited number of bricks, you use what you have. As others have said, I really enjoy that this build works so well with the current political environments of GoH.
  16. Thanks, kabel! I have a Mitgardian build in mind, but I need to amass more white slopes first. :) Thank you! Thanks! Thanks, Robin! I see what you mean about the base -- the tree could use some more gnarly-looking roots. Thanks, Lord Vlad! Glad you liked it! Thank you! It's not all rainbows and sunshine over here. Thanks! Thanks, ME! Quchqal is, um, Klingon for "happy bath", if that helps you with the pronunciation any. The tribe name means "blood forest." I agree I may have gotten a little color-happy with the leaf pieces, but as you point out, Nocty is the place for WTF-ery. Maybe it's the influence of the bloodbath? Thanks, Jorrith! I had this one built and waiting to photograph when I saw your recent collab -- serendipitous timing! I'm glad my little build plays well with y'all's epic series.

  18. A quick freebuild, set in Nocturnus: A True Bloodbath
  19. Somewhere in Nocturnus . . . "The biggest bloodbath you can imagine! More than most of you will see in this lifetime!" So Ravaage's captain had promised. The people of the Iw-Ngem tribe had believed him, and enthusiastically signed up to join Raavage's forces. At first, they had been disappointed when they discovered the mis-communication about bloodbaths. Then, they were horrified by the dishonorable methods of their fellow troops. After the battle, though, the Iw-Ngem people were left in despair, as the Black Spire continued to destroy the land and people of their beloved guild, long after the fight had supposedly ended. In secret, the Iw-Ngem sent the young warrior Quchqal to pledge their loyalty to Lord Vladivus and his resistance. Quchqal still had a long journey before he reached Shadowmere, though he expected to run into scouts and distrust as he got nearer. Quchqal stopped in his tracks. He couldn't believe his eyes! A bloodbath! A true bloodbath! A thick red swampy spring, bubbling mysteriously just so, with delicious slimy black algae coating the banks -- Quchqal couldn't believe his luck. He hadn't had a proper bloodbath since . . . well. This must be a good omen, he decided; Set had sent him a sign he was on the right path for his people. He quickly shed his helmet and blade and prepared to dive in, clothes and all. Builder's notes: It was time for a quick break from the barren dry landscape of Ruadh! I hope Nocturnians find it pleasing. I'd like to claim UoP Credits for: Landscape Design: Trees (1 of 3) Hydrology: Still Water Geography: Swamp
  20. Nice build, with lots of details to enjoy -- the detailed stonework, the slanted roof, the rooftop garden. I agree, more texturing on the tan ground would add to the build, but overall, very nice job!
  21. Love the new map! Beautiful work. I agree with Gideon that the green letters on black are pretty hard to read without leaning in and squinting at a monitor. I'd maybe try a black number on a green medallion, swapping the colors (sand green medallion with black text would be even easier to read, even if sand green isn't one of Mitgardia's colors.) You could also have the other set of numbers be black on a yellow medallion, to keep a really Mitgardian feel to things. Overall, though, really lovely work. Such excellent cartography brings honor to Mitgardia and Historica!
  22. This whole series is seriously impressive and inspiring! I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together!
  23. Very cool build. The color choices in the landscaping are really striking. I really dig the smaller, spindly trees. As for the main tree, I think there could be a bit more of a transition between the spindly branches and the thickness of the trunk, but overall, it's awesome. Beautiful work, as always!
  24. Welcome, LittleJohn! We're pleased to have you! Mike, the Kali group looks great. Siedna has changed her skirt again (I added the parts list to the Ruadh page) but any brick-built skirt will do -- I assume she has a closet full of them, vain creature she is. :) NM, I'm excited to see the new maps, and Ska, can't wait to see what the challenge brings!
  25. Wow, impressive intro! Great series of builds -- you've really got the Kali aesthetic nailed. Welcome!
