  1. Great figures, and outstanding, well-lit photos. I think the cartographer is my favorite. One small note: Kaliphlin does not have a royal family. We pledge our loyalty to Dextrus Flagg.
  2. The fleshie vs. yellow argument will never end. I'm a yellow person myself -- I've recently bought a few fleshy figs that I "fixed" -- but I'm not rabid about it. Fleshy people will replace yellow heads, and vice-versa. Use the heads/hands that please you.
  3. Nice, clean build, and an entertaining story. I'd say the tower looks a bit out of proportion -- too tall -- but it fits the story well!
  4. Fun build! The landscape work is really well done. I agree with mrcp6d; the color balance looks a bit off.
  5. 5 is my favorite, I think, with 11 a very close second.
  6. It may be helpful to number the options at this point.
  7. Here is a prototype with tiny shields: Edit: I hope it's okay that I'm messing with this. You have such great ideas, and it's easier for me to explain myself visually.
  8. One possibility to integrate Guild colors into the banner in a visually minimal way would be to place the GoH shields onto the EB logo, something like this rough version: I don't know if it would be permitted, though, because it changes the logo itself.
  9. I like them tightly clustered -- that way, they create a visual narrative about a cohesive group, rather than a bunch of random individual figs. Also, your landscaping shows better that way.
  10. Here's a quick-and-dirty version with the figures scaled down a lot. Your version of this would be a lot crisper and of course have the EB logo. I prefer the banner without the flags or any forum name or slogan, because it's pretty crowded as is, and I like for the scenes to have a bit of room to breathe. If you really wanted to, the flags could go underneath the figures, and the forum name and slogan could go in the sky, but it would start to feel really busy. (The flags on top visually divide the scenes where they shouldn't be divided; it creates visual conflict with the actual divisions of the scenes, if that makes any sense.) You've done an awesome job on this, Slegengr. I really appreciate the time and thought you put into creating each scene and group of minifigs, making sure every guild is well-represented. Thank you, also, for including lady figs!
  11. How 'bout an illustrated map?
  12. Welcome to the best guild, cookiesdad! Education is highly prized in Kaliphlin; your mage school will be a great fit.
  13. What a delightful build! It feels very Kali, and like I said, I love the idea of Githril. The irregular base feels a bit small, but I like the shape, and a smaller base seems to fit the tall, narrow building. The way you used tan as the center on then bottom floor and the as the edging on the second floor is unique and interesting. The sign above the door is a nice touch. That bat guard is just awesome, and I'm curious to see where this moment in your story will lead. Thank you for a great contribution to Ruadh; we're proud to have you as our first Nocturnan build!
  14. GoH will miss you! Make the most of your time in service; while it may not be your preferred use of time, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Best of luck, and stay safe.
  15. Another great lively build! You've managed to pack a lot of action into a small space. The building itself is a study in minimalism -- or at least, minimalism for Kali! -- with just enough details like the round gold tiles, the back wall, and the neat awning to pull it all together. I love all the different ways you've incorporated fabric; that rack in the yard is really cool. The characterization of Flocka is really nice as well. In regards to the soldier, it was thoughtful of you to look at Maxim's precedent while Ruadh's Brute Squad has been dodging having their portrait made. That does sound like a heady mix! I always enjoy the sense of humor you bring to your builds, and this was a cool way to really make the build particularly Ruadhi. Rumor has it that Avalonian and Nocturnan builds might be appearing soon; at that point, all the Guilds will be represented. I'm humbled by the interest in Ruadh; y'all have done amazing work bringing the concept to life. Mccoyed, thank you for another great build!
  16. I think I'll side with the dwarves.
  17. This is awesome! Such a great concept, and the build really does it justice. The curved steps of the amphitheater are nicely done. All the minifigs create a lively, vibrant scene, giving life to both the build and Ruadh. The desert details like the small dunes and dusty ground, while small, are very effective in anchoring the Forum in its landscape. And of course the joshua tree is such a thoughtful addition!
  18. Nice story and collection of builds. I agree the training grounds seem a bit bare, but the build does its job, illustrating the story. Love that map room!
  19. Love this! Thank you for such a lovely Ruadhi build. What a cozy domestic scene; the cat and the chickens are a nice touch. The red roof and the orange tree bring nice color to the build. The potter at his wheel and the whole shop are just fantastic, and I love how you've tied the Mitgardian troubles and Ruadh into the story. The last name is, of course, perfect. Would it be all right with you if I claimed this for Ruadh's HSS: Craftsmen/Merchant - Specialty: Po tter?
  20. I'm going to vote for someone needing help in Nocturnus. I like that it works with the Nocty storyline, and I agree with others that it makes more sense to start his storyline that way. This is such a great concept! Totally reminds me of "Choose Your Own Adventure" books I used to read when I was a kid, and a really interesting way to build on the sense of community within GoH.
  21. Actually, I was at a local Oktoberfest recently! I've been a busy little bee, but with little to show at this point. Three or four builds are at the "rough draft" stages, and all of them require that I order more bricks. The apron's coming along nicely, but I'm out of colored printer ink, which makes it harder to test progress, so it's a project that's sort of simmering on the back burner right now. I have a feeling I'm getting too detailed for minifig scale. Here's where we're at thus far: I'm going to end up adding a lot more paint smears, and then end up taking half of them off, and then recoloring them to best match actual LEGO colors, but, it's coming along nicely, I think.
  22. Nice build! There are a lot of great details here. In regards to the tower: once you drew attention to it, it started to look a bit plain, compared to the rest of the building. It might benefit to more detailing, like you've used in the first floor -- that would help to integrate it better. But, you mentioned brick shortage, so there's not much to be done about it. A window or two could also give it a bit of oomph.
  23. I like this! The only thing that looks wonky is the peak of the roof -- the gold and tan pieces look out of place. Continuing the browns and black would make the roof look more unified. You think too highly of my skills! There's no way I'd be able to create the apron I want using fabric -- attempting to achieve that level of detail, in a woven fabric, at minifig scale -- way beyond me. No, this apron will be printed on good quality paper. Creating the design in Illustrator allows me to create a sleek, detailed look that mirrors LEGO's graphic style somewhat; right now, it's looking more like a custom decal than like custom cloth accessories. I want something that's easily reproducible, inexpensive, and accessible to any GoH member, and a printable design seems like the best way to do that.
  24. Great details in this little build! I particularly like that desk and the bookshelf. I'm looking forward to the next installment of the story. (Also, yay eyepatches!)
  25. Nice! I like the way your towers are progressing as a cohesive series, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next one!
