  1. I'm way behind on commenting on builds, and planned on approaching things systematically, but when I saw the topic title, I literally exclaimed out loud, "WHAT?!?" The dog jumped up and looked around for intruders. The build itself is beautiful and sumptuous. You've done an awesome job of creating a luxe and rich interior. The furniture builds are well done, and I love that chandelier and the gilt everything. While the loss of Bishop Jamon will no doubt be felt across Historica, I look forward to the new directions your builds will go!
  2. Gabe put together a useful list here. While it's ostensibly for building in Kaliphlin, the parts list itself is pretty guild-neutral.
  3. Beautiful build! I like the gray-green color palette and the rough top of the wall. The light bley statues are striking against the dark background, and bit about the priests eating the food amused me.
  4. Lovely Kali build; it really captures the feel of a desert oasis! The groundscaping feels complete. The only thing I might suggest is to use dark bley slopes instead of light-- the dark bley optically blends better with dark tan. There are so many details to love about this build. The building is nice, as are the variety of palms. The angled planters are a beautifully considered detail, as are the potted plants around the door. The well is a great desert touch, and are those geraniums in the window box?
  5. Phenomenal work! Your parts usage to create shapes and textures is remarkable and inspiring.
  6. One of my favorite entries in the challenge. I dig the Easter Island vibe, and the sheer weathered-ness is remarkable. The tilt of the ruins, combined with careful color and texture choices on the sculpture, is really beautiful. The contrast between the mossy green and grass green is skillfully done.
  7. This is a really unique approach to the challenge! I like it!
  8. Marvelously fully-realized build. Every detail, from the wall texture to the floor mosaic to the chandelier to the extended hearth to all the furniture to the foodstuffs -- it's all beautifully well-thought-out. A lovely build.
  9. Another brilliantly done SK build! I really enjoy the dense landscaping and the SNOT-ed rockwork of the caves.
  10. Impressive cache of weaponry, and your rockwork is really well done! Great entry! My only criticism would be the harsh delineation between light and dark grey bricks -- a few scattered bricks of the other color would help the rock wall feel more cohesive.
  11. Great entry! That beardwork is super-cool, and the axe, while straightforward, is terribly imposing.
  12. Phenomenally textured and shaped. Your work is, as always, impressive!
  13. Beautifully considered build! The pillars with bowls of flame, the high column, the light shining off the axe, the mosaic work -- all so nicely done and cohesive!
  14. Nicely contructed rockwork landscape! The cave opening/passageway is very cool, as is the use of dark and light grays as cutout elements. I'm glad you included a photo without the minifigs -- while their march is visually impactful, I liked seeing the altar/shrine as well.
  15. The landscaping is nicely done, especially for such a small build. I like the treatment of the pond, especially the area around the frog's rock. I think the waterfall would have benefited from using clear cheese-slopes, plates, and round plates, to indicate the turbulence of waterfalls (and integrate better with the reflective-ness of the the rest of the water. I'm looking forward to your livestock-based series! While I'm usually impressed with Mitgardia's farms, it will be refreshing to see your take on it.
  16. This build has such a beautifully poignant lonely quality to it; I really like it.
  17. Brilliant work, as usual. I like the variety of wall textures, and the patio awning is really cool!
  18. Nicely done! I like the crowded, cozy tavern atmosphere, and the weapons storage is a nice touch.
  19. So cool! The figures carved into the rock around the waterfall are awesome, as is the waterfall itself. The crypt is beautifully done as well, and a nice contrast to the ruggedness of the exterior.
  20. Very elegant great hall, and I like the way you've indicated where columns would be if they didn't block the camera. Dialogue is nicely done as well.
  21. Clever idea, and that crack in the ground is really nicely done!
  22. Definitely some form of website malware. If I click anywhere in the white space of eurobricks, the site auto-redirects to an ad-based faux-journalism site. This only occurs on the Eurobricks site. Super annoying when clicking between active windows.
  23. Thanks ArchitectureFan! You may be right. Thank you Gunman! Thanks so much kabel! Glad you enjoyed the story. Thank you! It's not as detailed or greebley as some of the brilliant builds, but this one just wanted to be smooth. Thank you so much. I hadn't thought about it being not war-like. The pose is modeled after Tarot's Magician card and the Hermetic expression "As above, so below", but it would have been too wordy to work that into the rest of the lore that developed. Plus, there should probably be a limit to how many cultural/spiritual references should be mashed into a single build. The Hagrid beard was much, um, larger than I expected when I bricklinked it; the poor fit definitely limited the potential photographic angles. But I liked that it seemed like a particularly unkempt dwarf-hair-beard. Thanks, de Gothia! The orante figures ended up my favorite part. I'm touched by your interpretation. I spent a fair amount of time on the story, and your take left me a bit speechless, in a good way. Your and mccoyed's responses really emphasize the idea that once art is created -- words, paintings, etc -- the interpretation no longer belongs to the artist; it is what the audience sees that becomes the reality. The mini-fig shape was the starting point for the shrine, but the straight scaled-up version was dead-boring. I'm glad a bit of it still shines through! Thank you Jakorin! The edelblau started out as edelrosa, but the blue seemed more cohesive. Glad you liked it! Thanks! That wasn't my initial goal, but I had builder's block until I thought of setting the challenge where I'm comfortable. It all developed from there. Hahaha thank you! Now that you mention it, I totally see the Humpty Dumpty -- The exaggerated torso and beard, combined with the flowing hair behind the torso, gives a definite egg shape!
  24. Beautiful, vividly-colored, and lively -- a wonderfully cohesive build. I just love that round brick roofing technique.
  25. Well-executed build, with some nice rockwork and under-sea life. I had to read the explanations to figure out what was going on, but I like it!
