  1. . I have two of my own and they are terrific. However, their deliveries, according to my wife, were not. I am reminded of this very often.......
  2. Too bad. According to my wife the pink elements would give birth to other pink elements which would therefore prove that pink elements are 50 percent tougher than elements in other colors.
  3. Indeed. Nice to see creations that are built just for the pure, sheer fun of it. With all the posts of the minutia of scaling, complex, accurate mechanics, functioning, etc. nice to see a post that is not meant to be taken too seriously. Great submission... thanks for sharing. Leg Godt.....
  4. Not sure what rims the OP is using..... but what is commonly used are (56x34mm Medium racing tires) If this is the case then, no... they do not fit those tires. Like I said though, i am was not sure of the wheel used. The getup in the front tires (chains on 40T gear) is an interesting get-up that I have not seen before, but perhaps it is just used for aesthetic purposes. To work with 2.2 tires you need to use two Interlocked together or the porsche rims. I have not tried the Super Street Sensation wheels nor the Power Puller wheels, so these may work, but I don't know. I have written more about the use of 2.2 tires here (page 21) and also when I did a pneumatic version of the 8110 unimog using 2.2 tires a few years back. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/407959
  5. Are the tires 1.9 or 2.2 third party tires?
  6. Good warning to those out there trying to get an incredible deal. Always ask for pics
  7. Indeed....very nice start. Incredibly large project. You may even well exceed 5000 pieces. Chassis looks strong, but consider weight of what may easily exceed 5000, even if 6000 pieces
  8. Great stuff........great addition to your other zootopia builds (for those unfamiliar with sheo, he has many builds from this movie). Not only are the flashing lights awesome on this build, but part selection as well
  9. This is a great build to be sure. I also love the colors. What you mention in the intro about the aggressive curves is very true. Having recently been in the market for such a bike I have seen many of these bikes (I ultimately just went for the Nightster- less money but that gave me extra dough for all the goodies and additions I wanted to make). But I think the overall look is a little off. Perhaps because of the angle of the front forks? In a real V-ROD, the angle is nearly a 45 degree angle. The angle on your build is much less steep. Any way to change that? The greater angled forks, IMO, I think actually take away from the aggressive feel that you want to achieve.....
  10. I have only been a spectator thus far......but must say, this has been a fun project to follow. Lookin forward for more updates
  11. Loads of fun. Course it can lift 750 grams right out of the box with just the clutch gears replaced. Although not to the height of your MOC. I also love this set and think that it is one of the better sets out there. I think there is an intense interest in Lego cranes....... 42009, 8288, 8421 were all fairly big hits.....
  12. Agreed with other posts. Looking forward to more posts and updates...... TLG should have consulted with you on 42064......
  13. For 25$ really the best you could hope for would be something like in the range of 2-300 pieces. Not sure how "super" a car can be worth so few pieces.
  14. I am going to go against the grain here and offer my 2 cents. I like the red better than the black. If the bodywork is beautiful, and indeed it is, why hid it with the same color as the chassis, tires, etc. It is too difficult the curves, beginning and end, etc of the body from other aspects of the car. I like the red version more.
  15. Had to comment as well. The hands are out-of-this world good.......
  16. Love this model, as everyone else, but I am also loving something that has not yet been pointed out....... how you introduced the build in the first place, acknowledging some type of mental road block but also that you were able to overcome it. I wonder how much this happens to other builders. It is nice to know that even great builders acknowledge obstacles, or limitations - but the fact that you were able to overcome one of yours is something truly special. Congratulations on the convertible roof, not sure we have seen it before, at least not of this quality.
  17. Sometimes these types of builds are the best kinds.......
  18. We are near mid-Jan now.... and no new updates on their kickstarter page. But I am seeing comments posted recently..... three days ago a comment by one of the members of the kickstarter project stated "...BuWizz will shop very soon...." - not sure exactly what that means. Pretty vague. But I am excited to see any posts on this thread once backers actually start receiving their product.
  19. I agree with this post. I have not broken any wires. But.... I have worked a lot with third party lights and I have gotten really, really used to being careful (third party lights are incredibly small and versatile, but that means they also break very, very easily. I try not to smash, pull, or place too much stress on them as much as I can. Being one who dabbles a lot with other little electric hobbies...... I would say Lego PF is by far the strongest. I have pulled out several, or otherwise damaged the electronics or motors in my RC cars. And that is when even being careful. But never Lego.......
  20. I have finally gotten the time to really sit and look at this WIP (Saturday morning yea!) - Must say, still have a lot of reading and examining to do but this project looks terrific. The mechanics are second to none and the body-work and looks are coming along nicely. The tires are a new concept (multiple motorcycle tires) and IMO fit the project nicely. Doing a very fine job here and appreciate the nice entertainment value this post brings on a cold Saturday morning! Eager for more f/u on this one......
  21. I also really liked this review. Bonus points for trying to make it float and the ensuing videography. I loved the shots of the underwater explorer.... actually underwater Couple of thoughts: - It may not have the greatest functions, or at least according to your review Sariel, but wondering if this generates then a conversation of the similarities but also differences between playability and functionality.... because it appears like a set that offers a lot of playability. I really like the steering of the ship, I think it appears realistic for a ship that is supposed to be in water and the rudders are a nice addition. The fact that there is also two other mini-builds with some functioning I think also adds to the playability. The fact that the submersible can be raised and lowered from the deck and water is also very nice. So, although the functions may be simple, for play only, it appears like a fun set for perhaps younger populations (as you so stated in your review). - In the past I have often bought several sets, combined them into like an XL version of the original Lego set. I have other projects going right now, but I see that as a fun project for this ship. What if one were to buy multiple sets, and combine them into one large one? Also wondering if it would be possible to go without the steering, etc. and other functions that fill the underside, and build the ship around a Lego hull (or multiple) that does float, kinda like the catamaran we saw a couple months ago: If possible.... I think a true sea-worthy version of this set would be a lot of fun......
  22. There have been several threads begun by the OP showing only a video and providing little commentary. Never could wrap my head around as to why.
  23. I had been following this project on the WIP thread and last I had heard we were discussing the turnable. Then WHAM! it is done. Looks like the turnable works Great job my friend!
