  1. Yea, unfortunately there were lots of changes to the building instructions. As mentioned, it was a pretty much new beast altogether. I had to add a whole new level of the chassis, and with the outriggers and all that was a task. The inside motors and battery box are all moved, and therefore all axles and internal gearing are also moved.
  2. Yea... I totally agree with this.... but that is why I specified that I did not spend time on the aesthetics of the model. Would add too much to the weight. I tried, on purpose, to keep the weight down....
  3. Hey All, Here are my modifcations to the 42009. Really, it is a whole new beast, and I tried to mimic the Liebherr 1500 8.1 mobile crane. Added a jib and weights for stability. I really tried to enhance the strength of the model. As can be seen from the video and pics on the URL provided, adding strength can be done. It was able to hold my version of the 8070 (around 1500 grams) without problem. However, lifting the model was still difficult; the motor is just still too weak, even with the added help of the mechanical advantage provided by the pulley system. 4. I have bought several lifelites. I really enjoy them, and they offer great customer service. One of my MOC died... and even after it fell from about six feet up the cables did not rip or tear and they are still functional. Even after this..... http://mocpages.com/moc.php/386710 btw.... sorry for the URL. I am new on the site and am unsure how to post pics. Any help????
  5. Hey Everyone, I see that the crawlers are a big hit on this site. Just wanted to share one that I built a while ago and made a recent new video for. Pretty good climbing skills. Aesthetically, not much there, but I tried to keep the overall weight down to enhance functionality. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/368692
  6. Nice. Yes, these MOCs are very quick. How did you provide power using over 11 volts? Also lithium Battery? Is there a post that explains how this is done? I have heard that the XL motors can take more than the 9 volts provided by the 6 AA batteries from the PF battery box... but how is this accomplished?
  7. Hey Ya'all, I am new here, so I sincerely hope that there is not already a thread for this. I see there is a thread for 8110 improvements, but this post only partially applied to it so I am beignning a new one. I built a mechanism for electrically controlling the air valve for Lego Pneumatics. Take a look and comment! Glad to be part of the community! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/393479
  8. I know this is horrible to admit, but I have colored many parts. Though surely not the best, but entirely sufficient, is simple spray paint. Do several layers for consistent, balanced look. Hold the can fay away from the part to keep the paint from pooling. I have had great results with this.
