  1. Slave I is a must have in my book, absolutely my favorite UCS (I admit I am biased on all things Fett) but if you are really not wanting to spend that much I agree with Nom, Tydirium is a great set, and a better value than any of the TFA sets.
  2. toss me into the star wars excitement, cant wait for the next month to go by for the new film. also high on my list (though a bit far out still) is Suicide Squad, a must see for me.
  3. So explain to me what the difference is between the POP star wars bobble heads, and Lego minifigs. at least in regards to the Hasbro figure license. both are cartoon styled, both are basically full figures. the only difference is the possibility, but I would wager a good lawyer could argue that IF the bobble heads are recognized as separate figures not contained in the Hasbro license than so too are the Lego Figures.
  4. Fortunately I have not experienced any rudeness from the staff, but I did want to bring to light an incident from this past summer. I believe it was in the rumors thread for marvel (I could be mistaken) but there was a spat where people had gotten off topic in the Mod's opinion, and it riled feathers. several people thought this had been over moderated and voiced complaints, at which point many of those people were "Taking a break" having not been a regular to that thread I don't know if it was justified or what lead to those events to unfold. what I do know is that it caused me to not comment on anything in the thread simply due to not knowing where the lines were at that point. I am confidant that that was a unique situation but from the evidence I had it looked bad on both sides.
  5. Perhaps Lego has come to realize this with the whole Lego Worlds cross over. I would imagine that they take a look at all of their products and assess if it has reached the end of its life. maybe LDD as we know it has hit that wall. And instead of pressing on with bricks for this LDD they are really working on something new. Something that will require the brick data to be translated to a new format? I don't know, but I do think its unusual for Lego to allow competitors (even to free software) to take over, when in almost all other cases they have taken over something 3rd party and brought it in house.
  6. yeah these were mid to late march release in 2015. I assumed that they would be around the same time again. (start of most motorsports seasons)

    Taverna

Looks great, the colors are nice, and the shaping is eye catching. but I feel like there needs to be some 3rd floor windows or other decorations above the entrance roof. with all the wonderful details all around the building that small section seems to need something more.
  8. the difference I think he was trying to make is that while there are many other deaths most are attributed to war (also no ok by lego standards) while the tuskens where plainly murdered, and Shmi was abducted, tortured, and left to die. it is far darker than the war conflicts, but I see little difference once you cross into the death topic.
  9. "Hello Bruce" very impressive shark, though you may be a little short on teeth :P can't wait to see what you build next! (whole shark maybe?)
  10. that isn't exactly the case, the rule for ideas is that the submission must not Require a new mold. Doctor Who didn't require it and the submissions even used existing parts to represent the sonic. more likely The BBC wanted the new screwdriver and forced Lego to make a new mold. the delay would have been in time required to design the part, get approval from BBC, and then put into production. the fact that there are dimensions sets that use the same part only helps justify the cost of new molds and production runs of the new part.
  11. there are 2005/06 (light up sabers, and non light up sabers) and then there is 2010s, not sure which one they are attributing to 2011 either..
  12. is it the road car, or is it the racing car?
  13. well done! but are those molecules big enough?
  14. So using the list you guys came up with and going through Brickset images I’ve come up with the below list for arm printing. (turns out you guys already had nearly all of them) Boba Fett (UCS) Boba Fett (10123 Cloud City) Greedo (Original version) TIE Pilot (UCS) Bespin Guard (Original version) Darth Maul (Polybag) Darth Maul (Clone Wars) Wullffwarro (Rebels Wookie) C-3PO (Polybag) JEK-14 (stealth fighter) JEK-14 (comic con) JEK-14 (Jedi Scout fighter) Wookie (Rebels) *General Grievous (2014, droid arms) Savage did not have printed arms, neither did Ventress.
  15. same here, i checked Walmart, Meijer, K-mart, and Target stores none carried them. I ended up only buying them from a Lego directly (both in-store, and online purchases)
  16. good to see some players here, to those that have taken a break I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it while you did play, and if you should return chime in here I'm sure one of us still playing can get you the referred player bonus (mostly quality of life type stuff) And to Stash2Sixx, I'll contact you in game some time! I'm glad to see you are already on one of my frequented servers.
  17. picked up 10215 Obiwan's jedi Starfighter for 110USD this past weekend, pretty fair price for a sealed set. (specially considering original price was 100 USD)
  18. are you bricks up to the task? many MOCers struggle with bricks that just aren't big enough, we're here to change that with our new Double XXL brick enlargement program you can see your old standard bricks double in size! but wait if you act now we can further increase that size to quadruple original sizes!*Disclaimer results may very from MOC to MOC, and significant change not typical. do not use duplo or quarto products if you are a purist, may become a purist, or recovering from a brick related injury. product not compatible with other brick brands*
  19. Also looking at that Audi, I'm glad to see a source for cheap inverted tiles (3 on that rear wing)
  20. in a Lego store, I don't hesitate to offer advice to shopping families, but I always talk to the parent first, and if the child asks a question or is prompted by their parent to ask me a question I then start talking to them. so far everyone I've spoken to has been thankful and often will seek me out later if I'm still in the store. I try to do the same thing in other box stores too but often the parents look annoyed just being there, and I know how I handle random people talking to me when I'm in that state, so I often just let them do their thing and be on their way.
  21. another thing to consider is the force on the mold. I work in the plastics molding industry (we make the machines) and injection machines are listed by their clamp power, virtually all of which have a clamp force over 100 tons, which is present during the injection. the clamping force is required so that during inject the molten plastic cant force the clamp open, it then holds under pressure, while the part cools low enough to prevent deformation. Granted Industrial settings are far more unforgiving than personal ones, and clamp force can be much lower depending on size of part and injection pressures.
  22. the problem, (and maybe its been brought up already) is that City theme is also sub themed; Police, Fire, Rescue, camping, boating, and so on. so for Police and Fire, buildings are hard to incorporate without going big, but that is taken by the police station or fire stations. rescue too has that issue with hospitals taking the large set its hard to fit a home rescue into the yearly line. Then there is the outdoors sub themes, these have almost no buildings at all, and wind up being various vehicles and landscape components. what we need is a "Business" theme (Lego City Business, that actually sounds pretty good to me) this could easily be an assortment of sets ranging from lemonade stands to full stores, and all things in between. it wouldn't be hard to keep the theme rolling for a few years either with the large variance in specialty shops that could be done. now... that all said I'm a car guy, and I rarely buy sets that don't connect with that some how, so short of tune shops or auto parts stores I probably wouldn't be buying much from this proposed theme.
  23. here we go again, another Brickworld! Brickworld Fort Wayne is coming up quick (2 weeks out) this year will be my first visit to the show. I'll just be an average Joe at this one, but it'd be nice to meet up with some virtually Familiar names. I know its one of the smaller shows but speak up if you'll be there!
  24. if you still haven't seen them a Google image search for "Lego Speed Champions 2016" will bring them all up, just have a set description list handy to know which ones are the new ones as older ones also appear. (once you find them save a copy for yourself, no guarantee they will stay available)
  25. 944? I don't recall that being all that special of a car... now the Porsche 959.... That was a beast! (it is the number 1 rival to the F40)EDIT: I typo'd (thanks for the catch)
