I don't think these are "4 wides" the chassis may have been but the wheels turn these into 6+wides (measures closer to 7 wide but common on 6 wide cars) whichever size this actually is its a great little hot rod, for any sharp dressed man

I've always been a fan of Boba Fett, and star wars in general, but I also love wacky things so when Lego came out with the CMF chicken guy I knew what must be done! Giant Chicken Boba Fett (family guy)

I always have to laugh when our rumor thread is a source of news articles. I mean sure we have users with good info but I find it funny people would post info from rumors as fact

Should LEGO sponsor a racing team?
GallardoLU replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm curious which motorsports you are classifying as "Proper racing" I ask because the only racing that still feels wild and unpredictable is GT racing (Rally too but stage racing is hard to compare to door to door racing) LMP cars are starting to wake back up but they still feel a bit closed off from the rest of the endurance field. Touring car racing is also pretty good but sadly state side its hard to find any races being shown. -
Minifig parts and accessories you don't like
GallardoLU replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As a minifig part I hate the "Dress" pieces 2x2x2 slope brick. its always falling off and is taller than normal legs, I would rather have a long loose skirt type piece to put over the legs than that bulky poor fitting "Dress" (side note: I actually like the skirt type pieces) -
looking at the images all the Lego model needs is to be stretched into a 6 door and its practically there (bed rails are above the workers head, just like the woman pictured) still with some mod work the truck could be down sized (smaller wheels for starters) and it wouldn't be near as bad.

I know you've been mentioning the next DS for a while any new news on it to help substantiate those claims? the fall catalog for 2015 still includes the current one. would be nice if we had more to go on than your (reliable though it may be) word.

[MOD] Wing and landing gear for Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
GallardoLU replied to Master Chief's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm just waiting for someone to mod this to be able to switch from land to flight modes without taking anything off of it (slide rails perhaps?) I don't own one yet but very interested in it and a wing flap feature would be all it takes to sway me. -
well seeing as I don't know what you are referring to, I am interested in your theory. if others have discussed it I don't recall.

well apparently I'm better than Tom Cruise , took all of 5 min after showing her the video. i have to say this thing is loads of fun, takes some getting used to steering on manual mode though. also for those thinking about it deep carpets are a no go we have a medium carpet that it can move on but it cant stop otherwise it sinks in to low and gets caught. short hard carpets are no problem and when its travailing full speed easily climbs over power cords (on tile floor) The built in commands are great fun (there are: Yes, No, Alert, move square, move figure 8, and a few others i cant recall at the moment) the hologram feature is nifty but requires being near BB-8 in order to really see what you are looking at. Patrol mode I think i need to adjust some settings he gets going to fast to stop for walls but after he stops from the bounce effectively finds a new clear path (and follows it till he hits another object).

lol, yup 149.99 USD and reportedly 169,90€ or you can buy the Hasbro version.... for 80.00 USD (target exclusive here) which has no extra features and is mostly reported as a waist of money.

thanks for the experiences, currently he is in "throw mode" anything you give him gets tossed in a random direction, (or drooled on as he is teething a bit) I was thinking maybe get a train set for this years holidays but wanted to also make sure he would enjoy it. I think I might use the next year to start buying some trains but hold off introducing them till he can handle the regular Duplo he has. I have to admit, I am finding it hard waiting to share this hobby with him (he had a Duplo set waiting for him the moment he was born )

saw these last night at a Meijer store, 150 a pop, a bit pricy but I think it may be worth it. they had a display model being driven around I was quite impressed and may have to pick one up after I convince my wife I should buy it :P

Walmart in the US had buttons and: Walmart will be the only place to find Topps’ Galactic Connexions, a trading disc game featuring the Star Wars characters Customers that visit Walmart stores on September 4 will receive a free two-pack of Galactic Connexions discs, including a rare blue star field disc that will only be available in packs given away on Force Friday My local store had about 15 people show up, and they had a ton of those special packs, ended up being given 8! Which didn’t feel right to me so I handed them out till everyone I could find had gotten at least 2, I ended up with 3 myself. (haven’t opened them yet) The unboxing was fun though, and there were cupcakes for guests to eat through the night. I ended up grabbing the First order Transporter, and Rey’s speeder (also a Nerf first order riffle, my other hobby)

Hello Duplo builders, I am new to the whole parenting thing so I was wondering around what age did some of you start accumulating trains for your kids? my son will be about 9mo this Christmas I figure that might be a bit young to really enjoy them. but as mentioned above, I don't want to wait to long either. we already have a large supply of duplo (mostly from my own childhood) but no trains yet. thanks in advance for any advice.

How do you use the Window Frame 4x3/Shutter 2x3?
GallardoLU replied to suenkachun's topic in Community
I cant speak for the whole world, but here in the states Functioning shutters are very rare, and in the few places I have seen them there is either a rope tied inside the structure (barn) or a person really does need to leave the house to close the shutters. so for the Lego shutters the "outside" attachment seems to be the correct way to use them. also keep in mind that if the parts are used as shutters the intent is to protect the window glass and as the parts are designed that would require them being used on the outside. -
About paying homages and chinese third party minifigures
GallardoLU replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Community
growing up I was one of those people show looked at Mega Blok and Lego as the same thing, and for the purpose of this topic that is still true (the both are legitimate companies who do not steal from one another, and pay licensing fees as expected) and based solely on that distinction I can say I own about 4 figures that are loosely based on 3rd party parts. These are Arealight helms and printed chests, brick arms weapons. Meaning I still needed to supply arms and legs and heads to complete the figures. Those other parts are true Lego parts. The brickarms weapons are based on either their own designs or weapons no one can claim a copyright for, so I see nothing at all morally wrong with those purchases. The Arealight parts are however based on star wars themes and characters, which as far as I can tell are copies of parts of figures, not whole figures. This is a gray area, the individual parts are not advertised as parts for certain figures but clearly are intended to be, but at the same time are not whole figures. So I’m uncertain if there is truly an infringement (legally) I do personally view it as morally suspect but only to the same extent as omitting the truth (it’s not doing something wrong, but neither is it the right thing to do) They are also custom molds (I only buy their female body chests, with the sides scalloped, or custom molded helms) so I personally don’t see an issue from a Lego stand point other than the basic “not purist” but it definitely isn’t a copy either. As for the DC/Marvel figures I personally am against, those are Lego molds, with obvious IP infringements (especially the one Lego is also making) -
I cant pick a single favorite there are so many that have held the top spot over the years. but a couple have never left my mind: Closing Time: Semisonic “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end” Senior quote, and I was clued in to it being about the lead singers first child while my wife was in Labor! I Stand Alone: Godsmack Was a bit of a loner in school, but highly competitive, used the song to get the blood flowing before a race. Nothing Else Matters: Metallica Song that sums up my wife and I’s relationship, and has been “our song” from the beginning.

clearly no rumor was implied.... But the current topic of set size is the topic at hand so: based on the price and the rumor of figure counts I'm not expecting a huge set on this one though it really does deserve to be. I figure a parts count around 500-550. along with 4-5 figures.

Man spends 3yrs building 'worlds biggest Lego model...
GallardoLU replied to grum64's topic in General LEGO Discussion
interesting, I wonder how that was over looked on the record list I had found... with that we have a new overall winner (I assume it was built by a team of people) -
Looks like Echo base is following the Slave I trend, and is going to actually be a 2016 set instead of the expected 2015.
