thanks for all the comments so far! I will be looking into changing the front end, brick built headlights are always preferred. as for stickers those will be coming in time too just need to finalize the design before adding those. I feel it's pretty close now. @ToniMontana thanks for the images it does provide a few new ideas

rims are from Both the Audi R8 V10, and the Audi E Tron, also the McLaren P1 sets. I've turned them around backwards to make a more oldschool mag style rim here. the tires are from the city rally car and endurance racer using the same thing EROL uses and my viper used.

seeing as no one appears to have an answer i'll go ahead and reveal: someone else can post the next one

Nice F1 cars! personally i don't feel like stickers are really needed, the shape of the cars do a well enough job with identifying the cars they are meant to be. though i will concede that racing cars may benefit from stickers due to the lack of sponsors being an odd sight. that said i look forward to your next cars!

So i finally got the new 917 919 set, and being a huge fan of the 917 i knew i'd have to mod it to make me completely happy but i didn't realize just how much it would need it. below are 2 pictures top one is mine in front of an unmodified 919 (its 3 plates taller than my 917!) the second is a borrowed image of a standard Lego 917. the drop was achieved by 2 things primarily, first i lowered the canopy down 1 plate, and the second was switching to smaller tires/rims this took off a second plate (it was already 1 plate lower than the 919) there were also numorus less obvious changes inside and out to achieve the end result. My Modified 917 Lego's 917 Front View, showing narrowed front opening and reshaped nose. also the one downside to the older fender, the gap rear of the front bricks Rear View, here you can see i added some greebling to fill out the space better, also the tail lights were removed as the were just way to big on the standard car. If you look close here you can see through the canopy to the driver, he is leaned back a very long ways to fit, and this was a trick. the driver sits so far forward in the real car that the minifig legs should actually be placed where the wheel hubs are located. so the standared chassis has been thrown aside to move the driver cavity forward as far as it could go. also if the helmet is removed he can sit quite a ways up further. simple side by side, you can see quite a noticeable height difference between the 2 cars. So there you have it a still speed champion styled Porsche 917 but much better wheels height and shaping in my opionion, feel free to comment, suggest, or anything. and Thanks for looking!

Wow, looks like you all are a bit stumped. ok hint time then: Movie Quote "You're supposed to talk with god, but he never talked to me. Instead, all these other things started to"

There was a time when I was given the "when are you going to grow up" every time I brought home more lego sets. after a few bouts like this with my parents I replied "I don't drink, don't do drugs, don't get into fights.... I work every day, I pay my own bills, and I'm going to school (college) how much more grown up do you want me to be?" since then no one has had an issue with it, and both my parents support the hobby (gifts are usually gift cards to lego or another toystore) married now and Lego is just a part of our day to day

2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
GallardoLU replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
growth in price could be justified if not for the fact Lego still lists last years cars on their site as well. the real answer is that the Toys-R-US "tax" is still there and they haven't started clearance them. I'm sure those familiar with TRU know that sets start at RRP and then go up some time later (2-3 months is usually when I notice the climb) -
it's The Pagemaster, I don't recommend watching it unless you want to see Macaulay Culkin in his worst ever role

been looking forward to this a while, I fully intend to do custom games with this got some old heroica elements that could be useful here :)

forgive me if I missed it but is there any limitations on size? (been gone from SoNE a while) I hope to find time to build in this round again, been too long already.

wow, that one takes me back a ways! I wont give an answer yet (I want to see the random guesses too )

Lego is not produced in the US.. so US prices on crude are a poor point to compare to. what we would need to know to have any indication on prices is where Lego sources its plastic from for each production facility. and then look to see where those are from and what crude prices are like for those countries. keep in mind though that raw material costs are usually a small % of overall cost of a product.

HELP on LEGO physics & looks for a MOC
GallardoLU replied to FTG Prime's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Might have a bit of resting camber on it, but give it a shove and it'll roll just fine. the only possible issue would be the tile staying on the (I assume) SNOT surface, there could be some decent torque pushing on that tile so during play the wheel may pop off but will be fine for display. -

Mod the rear tires to use what is on the fronts, and then mod the front with the slightly smaller city style (using the tire trick from a few pages back) and boom, still larger rears without being huge like they are now. it may need all around redesign to look right but that's what I would do to it, or will once I get them. -
who ever wants to go feel free to take my turn, i dont have enough free time to hunt for an image :/
