  1. Whichever designer builds/co-builds it, I think we can all agree that it needs this piece for a ceiling fan:
  2. Almost all of your points could fit just as well into a continuation as well as a reboot. The characters resemble their original forms (including Kanohi, colors, and several of their tools/weapons). They were wearing Adaptive Armor. Armor that can adapt. And, if LEGO is trying to make a success of this, it makes sense that they would start out with armor that matches the original success. They are accompanied by small "defenders" (resembling Matoran) and are facing a primal force of destruction/corruption (the skull spiders, which seem to play a similar role to Krana or infected masks). Well, why would there not be Matoran in a continuation? Bara Magna was a bit of a desert, sure, but but it certainly had plenty of Glatorans and Agori running around. And skull spiders? Sounds just like something out of the barely-even-touched-upon pen jungle moon/chunk of shattered planet Bota Magna. The art we've seen, along with the golden masks included with each Toa, suggest a mask quest. A reboot makes more sense business-wise, since the bloated story of the original was one of the biggest factors contributing to the theme's decline, and connecting the new story with that would surely result in the same effect over time (don't forget that Bionicle's attempts at a soft reboot in 2004, 2006, and 2009 were largely unsuccessful at staving off that decline). Agreed, there is most likely a mask quest. Probably centered around the Mask of Life. Which Mata Nui's spirit is still inside of. And it wasn't that the story was bloated, it was that they thought that their core audience had grown up. Which they mostly had. And, I'll be fair, the Glatoran saga was interesting, but they were clearly starting to need ideas faster than they had them. All these years later, they've had plenty of time to come up with new ones. Although I could say something about spiders and originality... My apologies if I come off as being abrasive, it's been a long day.
  3. Not everyone could make it to the stores to purchase a 3300003, certainly, but the distribution was much more fair. If you can make it on time, you can buy one. Sure, it's not the easiest to make it to a grand opening, but it's a lot more fair than SDCC, to which it's almost impossible to buy tickets, even if you sit by your computer constantly refreshing the page. The UK Olympic figs were a bit on the harder side, but being from the U.S., they are not quite as important to me as they might have been. They had a fair release in the United Kingdom from most accounts, and as that is the country who would really want them seriously, I feel that it was quite fair. Also, they are more of a "side-dish" to the huge CMF series. Unless there is a specific need to collect them, I do not feel the need to. If I did, the distribution might feel a little bit harsh, but I'd still say that it was fair(seeing as how the only people who would pay money for them who weren't English would be collectors/Olympic collectors, and LEGO would have too much left-over merchandise on their hands). Superheros, though, are in a totally different category. Superheroes are interconnected, in a huge universe together, continually crossing over and interconnecting. "But, they're obscure," you say. Sure, they're obscure...but they are a full part of their own multiverses, and their absence is heavily felt(and that's coming from someone that is not more than a casual fan of anything besides the Rainey Spiderman trilogy/Marvel Cinematic Universe). And Unikitty - seriously. Do I even need to elaborate? This is a character that is one of the most iconic characters of one of LEGO's biggest productions. A character that is one of kids' favorites. The included faces are in over half of the movie. And they are only existent in an exclusive that kids will never get to play with or enjoy, because of the price that it is. Yeah. Really nice move there, LEGO. Every kid's reaction to finding out that LEGO couldn't care less about them.
  4. No problem! It'll be nice for a update, but real life should always trump digital. Besides, every day without an update is financially beneficial. "Greedily shakes Munchkin gold jar*" *I was thinking that it would be interesting if Munchkins carried their gold around in a small clay jar, similar to Leprechaun pots. Any thoughts from anyone?
  5. Even so, that should still be long enough to declare him legally dead, give or take a bit...
  6. I'd like to think that someone was making this up, as it sounds very not good. Until you look over the last few years, and you realize that it's perfectly likely that these will be the new line, when you look at LEGO sets and trends. Shall we go through it one by one? Studshooters used as cannons: Almost everyone builds cannons these days, sadly, and LEGO has built brick-built ones before as well(And, unless they're going for really, really light cannons, those studshooters will need to be bulked up). LEGO has shown that they really think that these will catch on, and so they will keep putting them in sets, despite the almost universally negative fan view of their attempt with flick-fires. http://www.bradfordrant.org/pod04_uk/ - one of LEGO's first 'official' brick-built cannons, for reference(It's the fourth or fifth picture in the slide-show). Pirate with a bowler hat - Not exactly normal, but then again, it's not like it's the first time someone's done it with LEGOs. No particular reason why this couldn't happen. Trees built out of Technic. This is the one that makes me think that this is real. Anyone remember Banana Balance? Why spend a few cents on a pre-molded palm tree, when you can just get rid of old inventory: The ship is tiny: Well, it's been estimated to be around $90. The old $100 is now anywhere from $130 to $150. So, yeah, this one lines up too. Two tiny forts: The same as with the ship. They are priced at $19.99 and $39.99(approximately), and as they are going to apparently connect, they will probably be built in LOTR wall style. Which, again, would make sense that they are "tiny". Super tiny skull island: Same as above. So, all in all, this poster seems to have either put a lot of thought into making up his story, or he's actually seen the catalog. Either way...these aren't the pirates we're looking for.
  7. After examining the new picture, my thoughts: The background picture is definitely a volcano. The volcano is scenery, and probably not important enough to be a major part of the story line(If it was, it would probably be at least a little more central to the picture.). The Mask in the center is the thing we should be talking about. The Greg Farshtey book that finished the last movie had Mata Nui's spirit/programming(whichever way you want to look at it...) sheltering in the Mask of Life. It specifically said that there was a chance Mata Nui would return. Granted, the mask doesn't look exactly like the Mask of Life...until you remember that the Mask has had multiple shapes over the years. Although this is speculation, this might seem to indicate that Bionicle will be a continuation of the classic storyline, and not a reboot. Having said all that, is there a possibility that it might not be the Mask of Life, or that it's a complete reboot? Yes. But when you have all of these things together...sometimes the best answer is the simplest one.
  8. They are excellently made, but they are a bit detailed for LEGO Pirates. Very few themes(mostly licensed and CMF) have printing that continues down from the torso onto the legs. Pirates have always had all of the printing on the torsos, with the legs blank*. Also, I'm not sure if they really give off a "Dutch" vibe - for some reason, I think Russian Navy when I see the HM, and Prussian Army when I look at the Captain/Guard. *POTC had leg printing, but it was a licensed theme.
  9. Taking just2good's estimate, and subtracting a cent to the usual pricing styles: $11.99 USD - Shipwreck Defense $19.99 USD - Soldiers' Outpost $19.99 USD - Treasure Island $39.99 USD - Soldiers' Fort $89.99 USD - The Brick Bounty These sound excellent, whichever way you come at it. The prices look great, too!
  10. How many pictures are we talking about, here? Just one or two, or a bunch? (If it's only a few, I might be able to host them for you on my Flickr...)
  11. Lind spends the eighth round entering the Foyer, the ninth round on going down to the Wine Cellar, and the tenth round on going into the Storage Room. Ooc: Ignore my earlier post. Hoke should be carrying all of the loot, since he had the last hit on all three enemies.
  12. "On it!" Lind follows after Gus, and enters the cellar.
  13. Good point. I was thinking about a rule that limited playing to other PCs, but the problem remains... Here's a new idea: Cards can only be played against other players. Card games(using library cards) can only be played inside the library, and non-library cards are not allowed(in library games). Cards stay in the library, and are returned as soon as a game is over. It would have the added bonus of keeping all card games in one location, so the Hall could remain more of a place for RP and quest posting.
  14. I get that. I was trying to figure out how the heck I would ever collect all of the cards, if they were going to be released regularly in the hall. To much digital $$$. Slightly hilarious in that someone figured out how to perfectly recreate the "must-have-them-all" feeling with cards that don't even exist in real life... Would anyone want to join me in creating a club, the Cardholders Club? Basically, this is my idea. Since obviously no one person could collect all of these cards, I was thinking that perhaps several players could, together, own a complete set(or two) of cards. Perhaps Sandy might let us have our own little thread, an offshoot of the Treasury, called the Card Library*? Here's how it works. Whoever is available to purchase cards when they are up for sale collects them, and they are "stored" in the library - one set on permanent display, and one or more sets that members of the club can "check out" temporarily for playing with. Why a library would be better for you, the player(/GM), than trying to collect them: It would give you the chance to use cards that you weren't able to collect because of money/location constraints. It would give us a central database that we could quickly access if a QM or player needed a picture of the cards. Only members of the club can "check out" cards, and there is a time limit, so everyone gets a chance to play. *In-universe it would be a little room next to the Treasury. That's why I'm limiting how much I RP Lind - basically, he searches/loots everything he sees, and he makes a joke every round in battle. Plenty of room to develop him more in time, but no need to do it too quickly.
  15. If the battle is over like Flipz said, and I am now level 3*: Lind looked regretfully at the corpse of the cartilaginian. "I guess we have to face the truth. He wasn't the real Mc-Coy." Lind hands his Anniversery Medal to Hoke. "Since I am borrowing your Medal, it's only fair that you should have mine to wear for the moment." Lind picks up the Sharkskin gloves. "Does anyone want these? Or know how much they're worth?" (Lind will spend his next actions going down to the cellar to support Arthur.) If the battle isn't over: "Ooh, a shark guy, eh**?" Lind attacks Mc-Coy with his Darker Ethereal Deck. Ooc: Sorry for all of the actions without waiting, but I won't be able to log on for a little bit today, and I was trying to cover all bases.. *Do I have to "heal" into my increased health, or is it added automatically? **This was funnier in my mind when I created it. For some reason I mixed up "wise guy" and "smart guy" in Moe's catchphrase...
  16. I know. It's kind of hard to describe Munchkin cards without Munchkin terms. Munchkins take comfort in nighttime, and view it as "good", and they see day as being "evil". It's kind of complicated. When each element is taken into (Munchkin) context, though, they do align up, more or less.
  17. Building on my last post, and borrowing the card names from my original description in the marketplace, here's a proposition as to what Munchkin cards(using my own deck as an example) would look like translated into Decamon cards: Munchkin card - Elemental Value Spring of the Emotion of Good - Plant, 3 Spring of the Emotion of Night - Plant, 2 Lady of the Lake of Fortune - Aquatic, 2 Coat of the Night Tiger - Dark, 3 The Red Woman - Fiery, 2 Spring of the Emotion of Evil - Dark, 3 Spring of the Emotion of Day - Luminous, 2 Arcane Strategata of the Oiled Pool - Dark, 2 Coat of the Day Stalker - Luminous, 3 The Light Woman - Luminous, 2 (I wasn't sure what would be considered fair stats, so I tried to stick to "starter kit" values.)
  18. I support the idea of a Decamon deck outside of quests. I don't suppose that Munchkin Ethereal Deck cards could function as Decamon cards? They could easily be linked to elements...
  19. They look great! Excellent job translating their shape into LEGO! Would you mind posting the .lfx? I'd like to try to see if I could mod it to carry a minifig.
  20. Preorder minifigures are available to a much larger audience than SDCC minifigures are. LEGO has handled them fairly well*. *Beside the Gamestop Wild West Emmet exclusive being available to all systems...except PC.
  21. Should it still say "Will Flee in 5 Rounds"? "You kind of floundered on that last attack, chum!" Lind will spend his action recovering his weapons.
  22. Unless I can flee the battle without losing experience, it looks like we're ready for the next round to be rolled, since Flipz is controlling Guts.
  23. I'm glad it goes until Sept. 21st...But I don't have enough pieces in any one theme to really make a good showing... Was there a particular reason why digital entries are not allowed?
  24. If I Flee, to exploring the house for the other mobs, will I continue to gain experience, since this is a continuous battle?
