Looking forward to seeing how the build goes. You might need a variety of movie posters for those windows

Pink Arachnid (Spider Gwen) by Phoenix Customs
slopemodified replied to DarkKnight7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Looks awesome. I look forward to receiving mine soon. I'll be checking out the source comic too. -
Brick by Brick by David Robertson - an insightful look into The Lego Group business and how products have been developed, some failed, and some that helped save the company. A recommended read! World War Z by Max Brooks - been wanting to read this for a while, have already seen the movie though, I understand they are quite different

Very nice use of the different browns here. I like the ramshackle look of the buildings - I can almost hear the creaks when walking on the porch

Aussie sales! Share the news of LOCAL sales!
slopemodified replied to Darth_Legois's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
TRU has Buy 1, Get 1 50% off on certain themes: Star Wars, City, Friends, Duplo, Technic and Ninjago, until March 15th. Got Droid Escape and Friends Supermarket (wanted the food parts ) which were both $45 -
Nicely done! I like the overhead projector - instantly recognisable Now it just needs a bunch of students, a teacher and perhaps an apple on the teacher's desk (not sure if that's done in Swedish schools)
-
Nice job! Did you base it off a certain wind up robot when you built it? I didn't know the feet of wind up robots are so flat, is it also prevent it falling over when walking?
-
A homey and inviting scene! A nice, well-sized tree too! That elf must be up to no good - has a shifty expression
-
Great builds! Love the circuit board the most!

I like the look of that hair - very cool 8) I'll be on the lookout for it now! Thanks!

Thanks guys! Cheers for that! Fits rather well! Nice backstory!

A friend of mine recently graduated with a postgraduate degree, so I made this to commemorate the milestone My friend has coloured hair, so I used the only coloured stripes hairpiece I could find. I thought about using the diploma tile, but I like the scroll more. The big purple cape is from CapeMadness and the tattooed arm is from Citizen Brick. Your comments are welcome

I haven't heard of this story, but the furnace looks like a nice build. I really like the boy's hat - I haven't seen that piece before. I see this has been blogged by The Brothers Brick - congratulations!

The Sith Lord of Metal belts out some head-banging 'tunes to their enthusiastic fans With the Emperor on vocals, it can make for some raspy lyrics! Some contrasting backup vocals I'd been inspired to build this from a t-shirt depicting Sith characters performing at a concert. So using the Rock Band set, it eventually morphed into this. I'd have liked to try some different characters (Grievous on drums would be nice) but I'm rather happy with the result. Thanks go to some friends who lent me some minifigs and recommended including certain details. Now perhaps I can try adding some lights and sound! :) Your thoughts would be most welcome!

(MOC) Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer (EU-Dark Empire)
slopemodified replied to Outworlder's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Meticulously designed and great detail on this! I love how the smooth top surfaces and the greebly back and engines are so contrasting in appearance I agree with the star destroyer on steroids statement. Interestingly, when looking at it from the side, the ship looks like it has had growth in strange areas, making it look squashed Can you provide any dimensions on this, and how heavy it is?- 32 replies

Whoa! More dinosaur tails than I could ever imagine! Nice work on this expansive build! It's got a very creepy feel and also well spaced out.

Brickforge's Brick to the Future project
slopemodified replied to slopemodified's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for all your comments! I have no problem with Kickstarter - they look very reputable. I agree about vetting the people running the campaign - there was one guy trying to get funding so he could build a mosaic of Hokusai's The Great Wave - no rewards at all - I'm pretty sure it was not successful As for Brickforge, I have bought plenty of stuff from them and I like their products a lot. I believe their experience making parts and running Brickforge will enable them to deliver some excellent quality accessories. There's only 9 days to go, and have reached about 65% of their funding goal - not sure if it will be met. What is the time period projects can take from Kickstarter idea to being made a reality? Months? Years? I recall a project about new minifig arms from Crazy Bricks, did anyone back that project? -
Brickforge, the custom minifigure accessories maker, started a crowd-funded project on Kickstarter to make special parts inspired by the Back to the Future movies. It expires on December 1st. I’d like to support this project, but have never used Kickstarter. What do people think about Kickstarter? Have you backed a project that was successful, and received rewards for it? For BTTF fans, would you support this project, or have you done it already? You can find out more at Kickstarter.com: https://www.kickstar...fig-accessories Thanks for your input P.S. I could not find this topic in the forum search, apologies if it has been discussed already. I thought this post is suitable for the Minifig Customisation Workshop, let me know if it is not.

Thanks allanp and Milan for your pneumatic troubleshooting help from July 31. Apologies for the delay in replying. Past few months have been busy. The pneumatics have been working fine so far with very few problems. If it's not working, I just push or pull the piston and then it works. I'll take note of your suggestions for the future.

Retailers shop display models of the 1960s and 70s
slopemodified replied to jezzabull's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yeah, best way to go is to post the pictures on a image sharing website, like Flickr or brickshelf, then post the links to the images here. Good on you for reading the tutorial! I think I need a refresher...- 15 replies

Retailers shop display models of the 1960s and 70s
slopemodified replied to jezzabull's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi there, Perhaps it would be better to post your question in another section, like the General LEGO Discussion area. You may not get as many views here, as well as help with your question. It may be helpful to mention which shop the ark was on display in, and approximately when, to help jog people's memories. You could introduce yourself in this post, tell us what you like building with Lego, and why you joined Eurobricks, etc. As you said it's motorised, what did it do? Did the animals' heads move? I hope you find some help in rebuilding the elephant.- 15 replies

Target's had the some of the Lego movie sets on sale as previously mentioned, but also on some of the Ultra Agents sets. I saw the 70165 Truck HQ is down to $64 (half price), 70168 Diamond Job $39 and 70163 Toxic Meltdown $29 (half price). Ends October 4. Kmart has a sale on some of the current City sets, and certain sets in other themes (Friends, Elves, Ninjago, TFA). Picked up the 60073 Service Truck for $20 and you can also get the 60083 Snowplough, 60081 Tow Truck, 60084 Racing Bike truck and 60082 Dune Buggy for the same price. The Deep Sea sets are also on sale. Goes until October 7. I believe Big W is running a similar promo on the City and Deep Sea sets, discounts vary.
