  2. After watching the Bosch TV series, started reading Echo Park by Michael Connelly
  3. Finally got around to watching Goodfellas for the first time. An American classic I hear Scorsese really loves stories about crime and gangs! What did you think of it?
  4. Really like the awesome soundtrack from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie, by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - one of my favourite tracks is Pinned and Mounted. Spine chilling ambience!
  5. Thanks Blacktron for his Colonial Marines figures! I highly recommend them Here are the previous versions I displayed at Comic-Con this year.
  6. Thanks for all of your comments so far! That was my concern about the Datavac as well. Cheers BrickCurve! I should get something better to clean the camera actually... Thank you for the link to that video.
  7. Awesome features you've packed into this! Too bad about the middle section, this has potential for underwater swooshability! I can totally see this in an underwater layout, investigating a giant wreck or ruins...!
  8. Hello there, I’d like to know how you masters clean your Lego displays of dust. I know people have said to put Lego in a delicates bag into the washing machine, but I’m looking for effective solutions on cleaning an already built layout or large model, that could have years of dust on it, and plenty of hard to reach places. I’ve been using paintbrushes so far, as suggested in the dusting bricks and models thread. Compressed air cans are available, but they’re $10-20 each in Australia, so they’re not feasible. Using a powered device is looking like a promising idea, such as a portable air compressor. I am looking into this handheld device: the Metrovac Electric Air Duster: it’s blows air and it looks more powerful and effective than a household vacuum or dustbuster. Has anyone used this? So please let me know what you use to clean that dust! Thanks.
  9. Thanks makoy for your advice, very helpful.

  11. Hello there, I’d like some help with managing photos on the computer. I take photos for my LUG, and upload them to the blog, brickshelf and social media. The problem I’m having is that I find it very time consuming - getting photos off my camera, sorting through them and uploading to multiple platforms. I use a Mac and I’m not a fan of how the Photos program manages all of it’s photos in a database, and how I can’t resize photos, only crop them. So far, I’ve just been copying the photos to my computer and doing most of the edits in Preview. Advanced stuff I can use Photoshop for. If you know of an alternative to Photoshop, please let me know! Can you recommend a program for managing photos? I have heard that Adobe Lightroom is a good program for managing photos, does anyone recommend it? If there's a decent program that works on Windows, let me know too, I can always switch to the PC. Or if you don’t use a program, do you just keep them in folders on your computer? I’d also like input on how you store your photos - on your computer or on a separate storage device? Do you keep the originals and edited photos? I create separate photos for the different places I upload to (i.e. a folder for brickshelf, one for flickr, etc) since I keep my photo sizes to a minimum and to make uploading in batches easier. Thanks!
  12. I had not thought about where to ask photography questions before, but I now have a couple of questions, so this is very good timing! I'm interested to see what happens.

  16. I'm supposed to be looking for work, but since I've done a few already and gotten no responses, I don't feel like doing it. So I came on the forum to waste some time and discovered this amusing thread! I saw the coordinates in Iria's profile and I wondered where that is, so I tried to look it up but I don't know how to, so I gave up. Then I thought of a comic from The Oatmeal about this very topic, so I went to look for it so I could post it on here. Then I wondered about whether the image fits posting guidelines - it's a good thing it didn't take me long to find it! Whew. I'm reveling about my actions and feeling guilty at the same time. And I've just described in detail a part of my day to group of complete strangers. Doing well so far.
  17. Sorry to hear that. Hope you find the ones you are looking for.
  18. A bunch of pillaged Disney minifig boxes spotted at Kmart Kardinya today! Gave in to temptation and picked up a few
  19. Welcome! Do you like collecting the collectible minifigs? From certain themes? Just the ones that look cool?
  20. Welcome! Do you like building sets or MOCs more?
  21. Loving all the cool new pieces in these sets! But three spidey characters, in one set?! I didn't know there was a Spider-girl and a Scarlet Spider!
  22. This is amusing Now has someone built the scene in the comic book store yet??
  23. Incredible scale and insane details! I look forward to more progress photos!
  24. Wow very nice and detailed! Impressive that there are so many references to an episode, even the truck!
  25. Awesome work! Do you have a Boba Fett figured out? I also saw your other steampunk MOCs - fantastic!
