I'm curious as to the design - did you base it on the one from the movie, or come up with your own? Since there multiple versions of her, how did you decide which one to go with?- 11 replies

Thanks for your responses Ron and fred67, you are right, it would not be worth it. Oh well, time to check what's new on cracklink bricklink then!

Well it may not be viable for the Lego online store to offer pab cups, so is there a separate service that offers sending cups full of pieces from pick a brick walls to international destinations? I elaborate on my question in the topic I created here: Pick a Brick service
-
Hi there, I'd like to know if there is a service/arrangement to have parts from various pick-a-brick walls sent internationally. Given that I live in country with no Lego stores , I feel rather envious of those places that do and have access to such a great Lego service. I doubt that the Lego online store will offer the pick-a-brick in a cup as it doesn't appear to be financially viable, especially if people want more of some pieces over others. I saw it being discussed in the topic here: pab cup online! I don't find the current system on the online store appealing as it was not easy to use, not a great variety in parts and it was expensive (compared to BL anyway). However I'd like to just get a handful/pinch of pieces from all the bins available, or as many of them as possible. I was able to ask a friend who was visiting the US a while ago if he could pack a cup full of random pieces, but it was just a one-off. So is there a way to source random parts from pick-a-brick wall at Lego stores and have them delivered? If not, do you think it is a good idea? Or maybe it'd be too expensive and I'd be better off just continuing to use Bricklink. Cheers.

I'm having trouble with some of my pneumatic parts. I got them from an old set, 8862 Backhoe, and I'm trying to use them in a garage MOC as a car lift, and I've positioned the cylinders upright. Pumping down works just fine, but going up doesn't always work - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have to pull them up and push them down by hand, and then it will work for a while. Some backstory: When I first brought out the set after many years in storage, I found it was hard to disconnect the rubber tubes from some of the nozzles as they had somehow become stuck. I thought the plastic had degraded from being wrapped in a rubber tube for so long. When I was using them yesterday, I cleaned out some plastic stuck inside the tube, and I thought I had removed a blockage. I will be trying to see if one of the tubes has a leak or change out the switch to test. Can anyone advise me on how to troubleshoot this issue?

At Myer Garden City, WA, stock of the Palace Cinemas disappeared quite fast. I saw an employee put three Cinemas on hold. By the time I left, they had 1 Cinema, several Detective's Offices and Slave 1s left on the shelf. I have heard that the other Myer stores in WA are similar - the Cinemas are being snatched up like crazy. I suppose it's partly because the set could be retired soon. Lego is King. -

Like one of the "Buy two, get 1 free" sales (if they are still doing it)? Or some other promo? Thanks for the link! Useful info on current sales and a comprehensive price guide -

I've been out of Australia for a year, just wondering if stores are still offering 20% off all Lego nowadays? It looks like they are getting more selective and put certain themes on sale. I ask because I'd like to buy the collectible minifigs. -
Is anyone having problems with Brickshelf lately? I haven't been able to upload any images to a new folder today - it just appears empty. When I try to upload an image to an existing folder, the thumbnails appear distorted or broken (depending on the OS and browser). I can still view the image okay, but not the thumbnail. I looked to see if anyone has recently started a topic on this in the General Discussion and Community forums - I'm surprised no one has. Is it just me experiencing this...? EDIT: To clarify, when I uploaded an image to existing folder, it messed up all the thumbnails in that folder - they all appear distorted or as a broken link. I can't even see the image I uploaded.

I just used S@H prices as a guide. Anyway, the price had a yellow tag, so I made a note of it. -

Big W in Riverton, WA has a variety of sets available: City, Creator, TMNT, Galaxy Squad, Star Wars, LoC, and Hero Factory. No Pharoah's Quest. They still have Series 4 minifigs! If they don't discount them, I don't know how they expect them to sell... Thought these sets would be on clearance, so I scanned them: 9468 MF Vampyre Castle $100 9467 MF Ghost Train $80 9464 MF Vampyre Hearse $35 5885 Dino - Triceratops Trapper $55 -

Toyworld Fremantle has a few Star Wars 9509 advent calendars for $35, down from $50. Kingdoms Joust was labelled on sale for $180, but realised that's just the RRP... price gougers! -

From Target in Bullcreek, WA, I saw sets from: Technic, Hobbit, Hero Factory figures, Galaxy Squad, TMNT, LoC, City and Friends. 42000 Grand Prix Racer $159. They must be trying to get rid of the Monster Fighters' Ghost Train - it was $69.88. -
